Wise-Up Kindergarten School

Our goal is to provide a safe and caring environment where children can gain a positive approach to school and learning. They will learn to care for, and respect each other, whilst learning how to be part of a group. Good nursery education is crucial to a child's formative years, and fosters an enthusiasm and confidence that will remain with them throughout their school life. Our experienced and dedicated staffs help the children to become successful learners, confident individuals, and effective contributors to society. Children learn through play and structured lessons with a balance of free choice. It is widely accepted that children in this age group absorb and achieve more than at any other stage in their school life, and this makes choosing the right nursery school. Wise-Up Kindergarten offers the best of all worlds to allow children the opportunity to build great childhood memories - a secure natural space inside, a gently challenging outdoor investigative zone which supports young children to develop emotional confidence and skills, and then the garden where they can feel the freedom of a fully natural environment. Our Kindergarten aims to: • Provide a safe and stimulating environment in which children can feel happy and secure. • Provide children with a very naturalistic environment indoors and in the garden. Promote the welfare of children and encourage their independence through the use of appropriate praise and reassurance. • Encourage positive attitudes to self and others, and develop confidence and self-esteem. • Create opportunities for both indoor and outdoor play which, at times, is challenging both physically and mentally. • Encourage children to explore, appreciate and respect their environment. • Provide opportunities to stimulate interest and imagination. • Extend children's abilities to communicate ideas and feelings in a variety of ways. • Promote a close relationship with parents and the community. At Wise-Up Kindergarten School, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYF), however, a number of our teachers are Montessori trained and we incorporate certain aspects of the Montessori Method in our teaching.As well as literacy and numeracy our curriculum is made up of science, art, craft, and cooking. The children also have music, dance, and French classes that are taught by specialist teachers each week. These activities stimulate the children’s imagination and further their creative and physical abilities. Children are also taught practical life exercises that encourage independence. During the term we organize a variety of special events; visits from animal entertainers like barney, mickey mouse and clowns. We also have a Fun week at the middle of third term and a Christmas Concert at the end of the Autumn Term. At Wise-Up Kindergarten School, every child is given as much individual attention as they need in order for them to realize their full potential. The Early Years Foundation Stage is made up of seven areas of learning: Personal, Social and Emotional Development At Wise-Up Kindergarten School children are provided with a positive environment to learn and are given experiences and support that help them develop a positive sense of themselves and others, as well as good social skills and respect for each other.
