Pentingnya Sirah Nabawiyah untuk memahami Islam
Tujuan mengkaji Sirah Nabawiyah bukan sekedar untuk mengetahui peristiwa-peristiwa
sejarah yang mengungkapkan kisah-kisah dan kasus yang menarik. Karena itu, tidak
sepatutnya kita menganggap kajian fikih Sirah Nabawiyah termasuk sejarah, sebagaimana
kajian tentang sejarah hidup salah seorang Khalifah, atau sesuatu periode sejarah yang telah
silam.
Tujuan mengkaji Sirah Nabawiyah adalah agar setiap Muslim memperoleh gambaran
tentang hakekat Islam secara paripurna, yang tercermin di dalam kehiduapn Nabi Muhammad
saw, sesudah ia dipahami secara konseptional sebagai prinsip, kaidah dan hukum. Kajian Sirah
Nabawiyah hanya merupakan upaya aplikatif yang bertujuan memperjelas hakekat Isam secara
utuh dalam keteledanannya yang tertinggi, Muhammad saw.
Bila kita rinci, maka dapat dibatasi dalam beebrapa sasaran berikut ini :
1. Memahami pribadi kenabisan Rasulullah saw melalui celah-celah kehidupan dan kondisikondisi
yang pernah dihadapinya, utnuk menegaskan bahwa Rasulullah saw bukan hanya
seorang yang terkenal genial di antara kaumnya , tetapi sebelum itu beliau adalah seorang
Rasul yang didukung oleh Allah dengan wahyu dan taufiq dari-Nya.
2. Agar manusia menndapatkan gambaran al-Matsatl al A’la menyangkut seluruh aspek
kehidupan yang utama untuk dijadikan undang-undang dan pedoman kehidupannya. Tidak
diragukan lagi betapapun manusia mencari matsal a’la ( tipe ideal ) mengenai salah satu
aspek kehidupan , dia pasti akan mendapatkan di dala kehiduapn Rasulullah saw secara jelas
dan sempurna. Karena itu, Allah menjadikannya qudwah bagi seluruh manusia.Firman Allah:
„Sesungguhnya telah ada pada (diri) Rasulullah itu suri tauladan yang baik bagimu ...“ QS
al-Ahzab : 21
3. Agar manusia mendapatkan , dalam mengkaji Sirah Rasulullah ini sesuatu yang dapat
membawanya untuk memahami kitab Allah dan semangat tujuannya. Sebab, banyak ayatayat
al-Quran yang baru bisa ditafsirkan dan dijelaskan maksudnya melalui peristiwaperistiwa
ynag pernah dihadapi Rasulullah saw dan disikapinya.
4. Melalui kajian Sirah Rasulullah saw ini seorang Muslim dapat mengumpulkan sekian banyak
tsaqofah dan pengetahuan Islam yang benar, baik menyangkut aqidah, hukum ataupun
akhlak. Sebab tak diragukan lagi bahwa kehiduapn Rasulullah saw merupakan gambaran
yang konkret dari sejumlah prinsip dan hukum Islam
5. Agar setiap pembina dan da’i Islam memiliki contoh hidup menyangkut cara-cara pembinaan
dan dakwah. Adalah Rasulullah saw seorang da’i pemberi nasehat dan pembina yang baik,
yang tidak segan-segan mencari cara-cara pembinaan yang pendidikan terbaik selama
beberapa periode dakwahnya.
