About iCircuit

iCircuit is a fun and educational app for designing and experimenting with circuits. Its advanced simulation engine can handle both analog and digital circuits and features realtime always-on analysis. It is the perfect companion to students, hobbyists, and engineers.

You use it as you would any CAD program: you add elements, connect them together, and set their properties.

But iCircuit is unlike other CAD programs because it is always simulating. It's just like working with the real circuit. You do not stop to take a measurement or spend a lot of time configuring reports. Instead, you just play with the circuit as you normally would, with the power on!

There are over 30 elements you can use to build your circuits. The app has everything from simple resistors, to switches, to MOSFETS, to digital gates.

The app features a multimeter that you use to probe around the circuit to instantly read voltages and currents. If you want to see how a value changes over time, then you can add values to the built-in oscilloscope. The scope can simultaneously track many signals over time and features a touch interface to control the total time displayed and stacked and unstacked modes to easily compare signals.

Supported elements include:

* Signal generators, Voltage sources, Current sources, and Dependent sources
* Resistors, Capacitors, and Inductors
* Manual SPST/SPDT Switches, Push buttons, and Relays
* Diodes, BJ Transistors, and MOSFETs
* Speakers, Microphones, Buzzers, DC Motors, and LEDs
* ADCs, and DACs
* Logic gates: AND, OR, NAND, NOR, XOR
* JK and D Flip-flops
* 37 7400 series digital parts
* 7-segment display and driver

No matter your profession, we're sure you'll be amazed by iCircuit!

Issues galore If there had been a trial version of this app for Android, I would not have bought the paid version. It is definitely lacking. No consistent between Android and iOS. Android is very by. Do not recommend until fixed. When fixed, will add more stars.

This app is a great tool. But on my new model android tablet I always have trouble naming a component and manually typing in a new value on a component. I can tap on the area where the value goes in many, many times and it still won't bring up the cursor for me to type a component name or value. It can get very frustrating at times. My iPhone, no problems. Please fix this or if there is a fix already, please advise. Cheers.

Can't set duty on square wave source; no good for the reason I need it.

HTC one m8. app is great used it on my buddy's iPad. Purchased the app but none of the links from work from the home screen. When I click any of the links the app crashes. Can't even go to email support. Have reinstalled and restarted phone. Please help. I would love to have the app. Well rerate when support contacts me.

Could be so much better if it didn't crash constantly, had all the features available on other platforms, like undo, export, etc. Very awkward ui, hard to move, delete, etc. Simulation engine seems to be stable, it's just the ui that lacks. Let's try harder!

And loved it for a long time, until something screwed it up on the S5, where I can't type or change any values. PLS FIX T_T..... wait bumping it up to a 4 star, ut works with the free floating keyboard but not the normal one, but yeah other than that this app is the best one you'll find on any phone

The height and width of the grid seems to be fixed at 1024x1024. Changed many times but still goes back to 1024x1024 on its own.

Andriod download = crap. Iphone download = ?. Windows version = even bigger crap. Mac version = excellent. ( hence icircuit ) ( probably first built with swift then lazynes kicked in)(hence the miss spelling of laziness)

Coming out of wire laying mode in the new version doesn't always work.

If you are trying to evaluate a rise time or something, look elsewhere. This is more of a basic teaching tool than a real useful sim. Nice for what it is. Easy to use and decent results. But what it is is very limited. If you are just learning, go for it. It's fun and the animated current flows help visualize what's happening.

Lots of elements to fiddle around with.

Emailed developer who said it would be fixed in a future update but that was a long time ago.

Best Circuit App on android. I love the ability to use real sensors on the device.

Useless anymore for over a year. Samsung Note 4

Subcircuits need to be fixed. Otherwise, great simulator!

K70%

This was a really good concept. Development has been stalled for over a year. Sub-circuits break the app several UI functions do nothing. Many random crashes.

The lollipop update is awesome. Keep up the good work.

S70%

Very nice now that its been updated for L

Had this app on my iPhone and it worked wondrously, got a galaxy S5 and now I can't change any values by typing. I tried changing an opamp rail voltage to + and -5V but it won't let me type, keyboard shows up but typing does nothing, please fix!

K70%
by K####:

So far the best app I found for simulating circuits. Keep it up.

G70%

A couple of annoying problems spoil an otherwise good program. The App crashes when adding a subcircuit or trying to select an already existing sub circuit. Managed to get typed parameters to work by rotating the screen.

I am unable to change the values of components or name the components using the keyboard. Please advise!

K70%

Can you add some more components for example a overload

Q70%

The best mobile circuit app

F70%
by F####:

looks like the developer just abandoned this application. the interface is extremely difficult to use, removing components is a pain and moving them cause all kind of bugs. You can't stop the simulation neither. It's way behind the iphone version.

This app worked perfect with android 4.4.4 version. It isn't working on 5.0 android version. So I can't use it

This app worked great when I bought it but Noe it crashes as soon as I try to open an example circuit or a new circuit. This is on the Nexus 9.

Crashes every time I open it. This is unacceptable. I paid for this, it needs be to fixed immediately.

I mean that literally, all options from the start menu crash. Fix it or give me my money back!

Menu does not work with Android 4.4. Can't wire etc. Was 5 out of 5 stars now ZERO! Samsung Note 4 with KitKat. **DEVELOPER DOES NOT RESPOND TO EMAIL**

Z70%

Does not work on Stock 4.4 Nexus 5, it just crashes all the time.

J70%
by J####:

Laid out 3 LEDs then tried to wire them. Unable to wire! Keeps toggling to secondary menu. Also, no way to select components as a group and move. Expanded drawing surface only to have the group of components jump completely off the grid. I thought this app was difficult to use on my iPad! I now consider it ok on iPad and totally frustrating on Galaxy 2. I wish the Play Store had an additional tab next to "install and open" called "refund".

E70%
by E####:

Runs fine without crashing when using Dalvik, but consistently crashes with every menu selection if using ART. Developer contacted me (2014/06/26) and is working on a fix.

Z70%
by Z####:

It's a very handy tool for getting simulations of circuits, easy and fast as you are on the go. Helps me graeatly with my electronic engineering modules at my university

Z70%

50%+ CPU AFTER backing out of app. App needs an exit strategy!

Z70%

They have fixed some bugs with the program.

G70%

it is good on ios however the android version need to be further polished like change a better interface.

Z70%
by Z####:

Lots of components. But it is very hard to use. The interface gets in the way of itself and the components are hard move around and manipulate. A lot of potential,but it needs some work

Z70%
by Z####:

Needs bugs fixed and a better user interface.
