Although there is no official CAT 2016 Syllabus, if you introspect on the past years’ analysis of CAT, you would be able to grasp the areas you need to prepare for the exam. The exam pattern have undergone major change. There are 3 sections, Quantitative Ability, Verbal and Reading Comprehension and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning. Hence, you need to prepare of a total number of 4 areas, namely, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning. The Quantitative Ability and Verbal & Reading Comprehension will have 34 questions and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning will have 32 questions.

Before you start preparing on the basis of the above mentioned CAT 2016 Syllabus, let us clear a caveat. These are not the sole topics and you have to prepare. The CAT 2016 Syllabus is vast enough starting from Class VIII to Graduation level subjects. Moreover, the CAT paper comes up with surprises every year, hence grip yourself with all possible preparation measures in order to secure a high percentile and clear the cutoff.

Unlike last year, the sections will be time bound. Each section will be of 1 hour or 60 minutes, making the total duration to be 3 hours. CAT 2016 will be a computer based test of multiple choice objective type questions. However, some questions will not have multiple choices and the answers have to be directly typed in the space provided.

CAT 2016 application process has started from August 6 to September 20, 2016 and the admit card will be available from October 16. Unlike past years, CAT 2016 will be conducted in a single day test window in two slots.

The exam will be conducted in 136 Cities comprising 650 Test Sites. Last year, the number of test cities was 99.
