Tamil Organic farming system in Republic of India isn't new and is being followed from ancient time. it's a technique of farming system that primarily aimed toward cultivating the land and raising crops in such the simplest way, on keep the soil alive and in physiological state by use of organic wastes (crop, animal and farm wastes, aquatic wastes) and different biological materials beside helpful microbes (biofertilizers) to unharness nutrients to crops for enlarged property production in an eco friendly pollution free surroundings.

As per the definition of the us Department of Agriculture (USDA) study team on organic farming “organic farming could be a system that avoids or for the most part excludes the utilization of artificial inputs (such as fertilizers, pesticides, hormones, feed additives etc) and to the most extent possible depend on crop rotations, crop residues, animal manures, off-farm organic waste, mineral grade rock additives and biological system of nutrient mobilization and plant protection”.

FAO urged that “Organic agriculture could be a distinctive production management system that promotes and enhances agro-ecosystem health, as well as variety, biological cycles and soil biological activity, and this is often accomplished by using on-farm agronomical, biological and mechanical strategies in exclusion of all artificial off-farm inputs”.
