The Cabbie’s Mate A-Z app is the best map app for taxi drivers, knowledge boys and girls or people who enjoy using the A-Z maps. There is no other map app which provides the comprehensive information and has such ease of use as ours.
The A-Z is now linked to Google maps navigation. You can select a destination on A-Z map, tap on the 'N' navigation button, this will plot your destination on Google navigation map, calculate your route, ready to navigate.
As long as you are subscribed, you will always have the latest A-Z maps even if we release them just after your purchase; you will still be able to download them for free. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period, your account will be charged for renewal. The app will cease to work if the subscription is not renewed.
We have two subscription models. A standard Cabbie’s Mate A-Z app which includes the latest 4 A-Z maps and latest POI for £29.99 or a premium subscription for £39.99 which includes the standard app above with 4 quarterly POI updates (POI updates are available in January, April, July and October). This is the only difference between standard and premium.
When new A-Z maps and POI’s released we publish on our Facebook page.
Download will require 2 GB space and a Wi-Fi connection and will take between 15 - 45 minutes depending on connection speed.
Here’s what Cabbie’s Mate A-Z app provides:
Four Geographers’ A-Z maps. These are the Super Scale Central London map, Greater London map (street level Master Atlas), Extended Greater London Main Road map and the Great Britain Road Atlas. Greater and Central London maps have been customised by Geographers’ A-Z Map Co. Ltd. by colouring more main roads around the City of London to assist route planning; exclusive to our software. Our app contains the latest available maps which are always displayed ‘north up’, your current position is displayed as you move on screen while you drive. Flicking between A-Z maps is a one touch operation.
Maps can be zoomed in and out – not only by using the ‘pinching’ action but also six levels using the + and - buttons added for even more user friendliness.
Our database contains over 40,028 up-to-date specially selected points of interest with full postal address and postcode. Our app will always have our very latest POI file when purchased. Most major hotels, embassies, theatres, stations and major landmarks are also shown on the Super Scale Central London map.
Searching couldn’t be easier, it is the fastest of any mapping application. Our customised predictive keyboard and alphabetical search system finds and displays a street, postcode or point of interest within ten seconds.
When connected to GPS, your current position is clearly displayed on the map. Having selected a destination, our A-Z app automatically draws a straight, as the crow flies, blue ‘cotton line’ from your position to the chosen destination to facilitate route planning. Additionally you can select an alternative start point on the map by pressing down on the map; the app will draw the ‘cotton line’ from there to your chosen destination.
The app includes centre GPS, zoom in/out, map switch, day/night mode, route plotting, eraser, info, navigation (N), route trace and search buttons on the tool bar.
The app includes an on-screen simple to understand instruction manual under the information button. We recommend that these instructions are understood and followed to obtain the best use of the unique functions available on this app.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Runs so buggy. Can't believe I paid £30 for this. Easier to just use A-Z..... Always force closing. Not Impressed At All. Needs A LOT of updates. Hurry up with the updates. I had to reset my Lenovo smart phone, as I was receiving unwanted ads. I went to Google play store to reinstall cabbies mate, I activated the licence key, but it does not seem to work, I do not get a confirmation e mail and the app ,asks me to subscribe to either , standard or premium ,but even that action is not allowed, maybe I am doing something wrong, advice is required, PS, in recent years, I had purchased the disc , IPhone and android format for this app.

I have been using the android version of this app daily for over a week on my Samsung S5 Neo, 5 inch phone. The app works well, with little or no problems worth mentioning. I previously used the 5 inch Satnav Cabbies Mate which lasted over 4 years and worked well. Considering the Satnav cost me over £300, which works out at £75 per year, paying £30 per year for this app is great value. Highly recomended.

Just downloaded the Cabbies mate app for android...where is the SatNav ?? Only the A-Z is available...where is the SatNav part ? Cabbies mate comes with 2 apps in the device #ripoff

When I open cabbies mate there is no map. I have to click on zoom out twice and map appears. I get an intermittent screen flicker. I have to shut the app down and reopen.

Just paid £30 sat down trying to do some map work and it crashed 4 times in 30mins absolutely useless full of bugs. Wish I could give it no stars. Also it's way out of date with its one way systems. Percy St W1 and Crosby Row SE1 are just few that come to mind. Why is it I paid so much money for a app that keeps crashing has bugs and out of date, misinformation. Google need to look into this. Stick to Google Maps!!!

Just purchased and it won't load saying I have no license and have to contact knowledge master uk... got a refund then tried again and it worked. I emailed KM UK and they said my device could be incompatible which wasn't true. Don't expect any support if there are problems with the Android version as everything on their support pages is justifying why it won't work on your device. I don't understand why everyone else can make apps which work but these guys can't?

Just updated maps and its even worse now. The thing crashes all the time. Full of bugs. Crashes, can't change from normal map to superscale map, and GPS doesn't work. Don't waste money on it until it's updated. Complete waste of 30 quid. Should have stuck to basic a to z which was much better

Good map app for anyone doing 'The knowledge'. Compared to cost of london maps price is ok.Large scale covers greater area than any other map I can find. Couple of bugs as follows; Galaxy S3 can't zoom in to max on large scale map so I cant read road names nor use on scooter as text too small. Other maps zoom in fine. Map scroll is very laggy. Could do with ability to touch map and reveal road or building name. A save function for routes would also be handy. Used on Samsung Galaxy S3 and Google Nexus 7.

Waited a long time for the Android version. Downloaded it onto my Note 2. Sadly found the GPS tracking to be next to useless. Unlike the iPhone/iPad version which was excellent. Hopefully an update will sort this problem soon. As £30 is a lot to pay for something with such a significant problem.
