Bulk Rename Wizard for Android
The program helps me rename files I have in bulk very effectively! Saves so much time. Will be paying for the ad free one. However, what is the difference between "replace characters" and "regular expression?" Update: Thanks for your reply! At first I thought there were missing features, but after finding your help document, it was just what I needed.
Fantastic, saved me heaps of time removing the the backup timestamp from my restored music files. It would be great if it returned to where you are in the list when adding more files. Bit of an arse it returning to the beginning every time. A search and Rename feature would be even better. Thanks Dev'
I tried this app and I have got a great result renaming my photos. The problem is I'm not able to rename the photos in the sd card. Any help would be appreciated and if I get a working solution I'm going to rate it to 5 starts and buy the donation key. Thanks for the great and unique app!!
Quite useful, I use it almost every day. Very confusing though is unnecessary forcing users to select AGAIN the files added in previous step. Also the definition of the task should include the source and destination folders as well as option to replace existing files - redoing it every time is quite annoying. Best wishes for successful further evelopent.
2016-09S-18th - I couldn't get this to rename a single thing. File structure is clunky, a lack of customisable settings & perhaps most importantly (other than it renaming files), the lack of a preview.
I renamed the files fine, and see them in File Manager app BUT in camera and Gallery they are blank! How can I make them show up in Gallery, which saves to an internal sd card? Im using android 5.02 on a HTC m8.
I would give this app a higher rating but I have had some issues with it. For starters, if you select more than a few dozen files the app crashes. The other issue is you cannot select all files in folders and subfolders, which makes the process of select files very tedious.
Other than that extra step this is an EXCELLENT app. Does what it says cleanly and quickly. And doesn't take up much space. Thanks, nice little app !!
This is a great app and has a few bugs and hangs up a little bit but it does its job very good except for one thing. I would have given it 5 stars even with a few bugs. It will only work on system memory not external memory. If this capability is added to a future update I will change my rating to 5 stars
Does absolutely what it says it does,,,,and fast! !!! Saved me literally days of work!!! If i could now find a batch mp3 to wav converter too, my life would be alot easier. THANK YOU!!! PLEASE MAKE A BATCH AUDIO FILE CONVERTER AS GOOD AS THIS APP!!!
It took a couple of tries because of all the features. When I figured it out, job done! I will be looking out for more from these guys, because it's the first time for ages that it done as described. Plus there was no overbearing unwarranted extra permissions. Thanks to the developers.
I've been using this app for a year or so. I have thousands of image files on my phone (wallpapers), and I add to this almost every day, from dozens of online sources, which all name their files in different ways. This app lets me rename these files however I want. I can change the names of a huge batch of pictures to the same thing AND number them all in one step. I only just now realized there was a paid version, and I think $2.99 more than covers the amount of use I've gotten out of it.
Doesn't work at all. Preview shows new folder names correctly, Says 3 folders to rename, click OK. Says completed successfully. Folder names still the same. Galaxy S7 on external SD Card. Verified app has SD card permissions.
I use BRW to rename large numbers of Image files on Android, regularly. It does nearly everything I need it to do. The one thing I dislike about it is it's "insert character" and "replace character" mode. This needs to be streamlined. I use Bulk Rename Utility in Windows. I wish it was like that. It's not a huge deal. Which is why I gave 4
Even its says ...renaming done but actually its not..seems it doesnt work for the files on SD card...is there any workaround ?
The process of renaming has been made unnecessarily long and counter intuitive. 'Batch Renamer' app is better (in terms of quickness).
renaming files from physical sd card to internal storage to avoid permission issues... can't write to internal storage due to "permission issues"
Typically, it was Infuriatingly difficult or impossible to select a folder in which all files are to be renamed. Apparently converts a tree-structured file set indiscriminately into a flat-file list. No "select all" function? Uninstalled.
Very useful, please enable ext sd card access though! Thats a big problem so far. Otherwise great app, easy to use and good results.
Assault sedhu... super app... all my no extension mp3 changed with mp3 xtension one shot
Seems to be good if this can recognise that the file extension starts with the last dot, not the first one. Otherwise, this is useless for file names having dot in them.
It doesn't work AT ALL, why would I give it one star?.... I did not hate it 80%, I hated it 100% Samsung Galaxy Note 4
The only app that truly changes extensions. And remains files the way you want them to be..thanks alot
the program works as advertised. I am delighted with it as it has saved me a lot of time. It is also helped me find what certain files were that were clogging my SD card 0. They were add icons for all those candy crunch Games Etc grrrrr

I'm obsessive about having my files labeled in a particular order. Batch Renamer allows me to indulge my neurosis. Works flawlessly for me. Even if it's not used every day, it's well worth the couple of $$ to support the developer.
Added mp3 files with number prefix. On external SD and left in same folder when finished. Tried to remove the numbers. It showed a preview. It said finished. Files remained with 01 prefix. Might work for you but didn't for me.
Ive had many problems to order my files cause im a perfectionist but this things really help me a lot
The only problem is that you can't change the backround color, the names of albums and all text fonts are white with a backround that is also white, so I cannot see any text unless I tap on it & it highlights blue, for instance, I go to Rename > Photo's I cannot see the name to any album in there, because everything is white, but I can see the photo album's cover (which is the last photo added, so it becomes difficult to know what I'm looking for) but the name is there if I highlight it. 5/5 if color fixed.
Doesn't allow proper sorting when it comes to files that start with numbers. It orders them according to the very first number (1, 10, 11...) instead of proper way (1, 2, 3...).
Basically, it doesn't appear to work. Renames nothing, got very fed up with refusal to move on because the number field was empty. It wasn't. Also got VERY fed up with endlessly having to select the same files. Destined for uninstall.
Renamed 1190 PDF in a short time. The only pain is having to jump through so many folders to get to my external card.
However I can't see how to select an entire folder of files to avoid having to select yhem Ongar a time.
i see app like es explorer will ask you to choose sd card to gain permission to write, may be you can do that as well instead of just saying no permission?
The app is no longer work at all, it gives errors, crash and restart, and that's it, trying to communicate with the developers, but no response
Need to occasionally rename several dozen to 100+ images and sort them according to date taken. This app does exactly that and fast. Only thing that would make it perfect is the option to keep the originals when renaming to a separate folder.
It doesn't work AT ALL, why would I give it one star?.... I did not hate it 80%, I hated it 100% Samsung Galaxy Note 4
OK on internal memory but does not seem to have ability to request permission to write to External SD Card so fails. App needs updating to do this. Using on Android 5.1

I got your app to successfully change files to title caps by doing this with an adopted storage SD: Move your app to SD in the application manager. Have it append ".old" to the filename. It then fails with a cannot write to storage message. However, all the files were properly renamed, just with ".old" inserted before the extension, which I then removed with a regex from within solid explorer. How's that for efficient file renaming! Guys, update your app, you've almost got this.
