This is a tool for memorising scripture and reminding yourself to pray. Following the success of the ESV Bible Trainer app, I've developed this King James Bible version to help more people in the struggle to get God's word into our hearts. NB: This app contains the entire new testament, plus Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs and Isaiah. There is, however, a full-Bible edition of the app now available - "Bible Trainer KJV Full".
Once you've chosen a passage to memorise, the app will break it up into phrases and give them to you one at a time, making it easier to memorise. As you get to grips with the passage, you'll begin to be able to say it without reading the text, but you can still use the app to remind yourself of what comes next. You can also test yourself by typing the passage out. The app stores all the passages you're working on, helping you to keep track of what you've memorised. Similarly, the app can store prayer requests, and you can set a reminder to pray for someone or recite a Bible passage.
If you're like me, you'll need some pretty strong motivation to want to memorise scripture. How about this:
John 15:1-11 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. (2) Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (3) NOW YE ARE CLEAN THROUGH THE WORD WHICH I HAVE SPOKEN UNTO YOU. (4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (6) If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (7) IF YE ABIDE IN ME, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (8) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. (9) As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. (10) IF YE KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, YE SHALL ABIDE IN MY LOVE; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. (11) THESE THINGS HAVE I SPOKEN UNTO YOU, THAT MY JOY MIGHT REMAIN IN YOU, AND THAT YOUR JOY MIGHT BE FULL.
What's the outcome when we abide in Jesus and his words abide in us? Being clean (verse 3), fruitfulness (verses 4 and 5), salvation (verse 6), communion with God (verse 7), abiding in Jesus' love (verse 10) and fullness of joy (verse 11)! And what better way is there for Jesus' words to abide in us, than for us to memorise them?

I know it's the dev's right to price an app, however, I am disappointed at the current upgrade price. I would gladly purchase the full version but $8.49 is definitely overpriced for me & an excessive increase over the .99 cents I paid for the full ESV version. At this price the app is not comparable to other memorization apps of its kind. Thus, my 3☆ rating.

This is definitely the best scripture memory app out there!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could!! Just spent two hours downloading and uninstalling bible memory apps to no avail. Was going to give up when i found this one. It's really, really great. Simple and to the point, yet it has everything! All the bells and whistles in a no frills, humble package. Don't waste your time looking anywhere else!
