Nepalese agriculture is characterized by structural constraints like small and fragmented production, geographic remoteness and market related constraints like poor market linkage and networking. Most of the rural production economy is not well connected to urban market economy. Higher transaction cost of doing business in rural areas is a key factor for poor business connection. In this context, Kisan Biz app has been developed under BICAS project to facilitate agriculture product transaction between rural and urban economy and expedite the pace of agriculture commercialization. The application is designated to open up the opportunity for farmers and traders to interact with each other and exchange timely and reliable market information. This app is believed to reduce the transaction cost of doing business and promote business transaction.
