Kisah Sunan Ampel Sang Pengelana Menggores Pena

Pada bangunan itu tersimpan jejak peninggalan Sunan Ampel atau Raden
Rahmat, salah satu Wali Songo. Kabarnya, Raja Majapahit terakhir, yakni
Brawijaya V, yang memberikan tanah tersebut kepada Sunan Ampel sebagai
hadiah karena menumpas serangan tentara Tartar atau Mongol.

Bangunan tempat ibadah agama Islam ini didirikan oleh Raden Ali
Rahmatullah atau Sunan Ampel
di abad ke 18 sekitar, 1430 Masehi. Cikal-bakal bangunan ini adalah dari
mendapatkan tanah perdikan dari Raja Majapahit Brawijaya lima," tutur
Ketua Takmir Masjid Peneleh Mohammad Sufyan saat ditemui Liputan6.com,
beberapa waktu lalu.
