PowerEdge - Bike Power Meter for Android
The readings were double what my PowerTap wheel showed on average, and varied between 25% and 500% of actual power. Maybe this works for some people, but it wasn't even close for me.
Cant use any good feature without purchase
Unfortunately this app does not work very well and the customer service is awful. In regards to the app itself. To begin with I live in south louisiana, where there is no gain or loss in elevation. At the end of a typical 80k ride this app would claim that I did 1000 meters of climbing. This is impossible where I live. In addition, I could be riding down a flat road, at the same exact cadence, with no wind and the power would vary 200 joules (or whatever unit is used). Both of these examples would occur everytime I rode, they were not anomalies. I sent customer service, power edge, 3 emails regarding thees problems to which I recieved not one single reply. I have given them 5 months, I will wait no more and at this point I am canceling my subscription.
I was dubious about this app, but thought I would try it given that it had a 30 day free trial. My suspicions were correct: this app was useless. Real time power measurements were wildly inaccurate. Tried it 1 time on a ~1hr workout and observed: power measured at 300+ W while going downhill w/ no pedaling, power would frequently drop to zero despite being at high RPE. 1 time was enough. Deleting app and cancelling free trial subscription.
Not a bad start but needs to integrate cadence via ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart to avoid recording power when coasting. Calculated power seemed reasonable at times compared to routes recorded with a powertap power meter, but overall Average Power was WAY too high due to power recorded during downhill coasting. It should also have the option to save TCX files to the device vs having to email them to yourself. Cadence and heart rate integration would also negate the need to run other apps to record full cycling data.

I have been wanting to try training for power for a long time but didn’t want to spend the big bucks. So glad I found this smart little app. I’ve been training with it for a month and love it.
I was going to spend hundreds on a power meter but decided to test this out first. Tested with a friend's power meter, the accuracy was right on! Thanks for this great app!
Amazing !
Didn't think it's possible, but the accuracy is amazing!
I wanted to power train and did not want to purchase an expensive one power tap so I download this app and tested. Wow its great, thanks for making it affordable.
