by F####:

The issue of frequent crashing addressed by kinetic and works well with the inbuilt training modules. However, there is a huge gap in power output reading when the trainer is used with ZWIFT!! This needs to be ironed out and sorted by Kinetic...

M70%
by M####:

Very buggy and very rarely works properly . Updates will often fix some problems, but create others. All features work less than half the time. Sensors won't even connect to Bluetooth a quarter of the time.

I just bought a Kinetic Road Machine smart trainer. Trying out this app however makes me feel like pulling my hair out. Pros: -Data. Power, cadence, "speed", and feel. Cons: -Terrible software support. As of 1/26/2017 the app does not link up to strava. Logging in and authorizing literally does nothing. -Terrible user interface with zero options, unless you pay for a subscription? No thanks. Considering returning this trainer back to REI thanks to this terrible app. 3/16/2017 Edit. I use a moto z force and this app WILL NOT detect my sensor ever since one of the updates in February. I've replaced the battery thinking that was the issue and checked the magnet but still nothing is detected in the app. I am ready to swear off Kurt kinetic products for a while. This trainer has incredibly low value for me due to the non-functional sensor. It seems I'm in the minority for this bug but apparently there are many other issues that aren't able to be addressed as of now.

This app is written by someone/team with no development skills! Connecting the sensor takes ages. I lost the first workout when it crashed. Hard to believe any company would release an app this bad :-( Update: Second workout, crashed again!

M70%
by M####:

I gave this app a chance. A bug which I reported was fixed very quickly. I like the wide range of pre-defined workouts. I started using them and the quality of my workouts improved a lot.

M70%
by M####:

Works perfectly for me

R70%
by R####:

A really half finished and buggy product. Surprised they were allowed to release it. Watch out for the huge amounts of data it chews through unless completely shut down. Good choice of workouts but very crashy and buggy

It is Garbage.. have a Motorola Android phone. For over a year now I have been chasing customer service. They keep telling me updates are coming. Can not alter the display. Screen rotates uncontrollably for no reason and looses all current ride info. Does not maintain a history correctly. This app is horrible ... Do NOT buy this smart trainer.

M70%
by M####:

Won't upload to Strava or save my rides anymore after updates. Update 29Jan17 app won't save my workouts at all now. Only saved 2 of 5 this week. Update 6Feb17 all features seem to be working again. Long term reliability still unknown. Update 24Feb17 uploading to Strava again not functioning. Cannot review previous workouts from home screen, all link to the same workout.

S70%
by S####:

Very disappointed. I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased. The trainer is great but the app and support is awful. Should have went with another brand

V70%
by V####:

Sufferfest videos won't play, app doesn't allow you to skip ahead in workouts to specific parts, crashes frequently. Instructions are non-existent - the 'free workout' mode is the way to use the product as a fluid trainer. Erg mode totally unpredictable and inaccurate against my power meter. There's a bug now that means I can't save any workouts. The connection to the trainer is really fussy - generally it won't connect unless you close and restart the app. Terrible software ruins the product. The Android app is basically an early beta when compared to the iPhone app - there are other critical features missing from the android app like an 'advanced spindown' option (though there are no instructions on how to do that in the apple one)

C70%
by C####:

Between the broken firmware in the inRide and the constant issues with this app I've wasted countless hours fiddling instead of riding. Not good.

W70%
by W####:

Crashes frequently losing workouts, difficult to pair with the sensor, and can't pair with Garmins. Good trainer, terrible app.

M70%
by M####:

Like the trainer, like the workouts in the app but app needs improvements. It loses workouts results, sensor is slow to connect, uploading to apps usually have to disconnect and reconnect with other app

K70%
by K####:

Total crap. Junk. Waste of time. Never worked as promised on several different android phones. Lots of false promises from Kinetic support.

P70%
by P####:

The kinetic fit app does a great job of being focussed on doing a few things well and the user interface is simple while still being powerful and informative.

M70%
by M####:

It does not work. After warmup it freezes. Very bad

M70%
by M####:

It just doesn't detect the sensor... The iPad version of the app detected it fine.

M70%
by M####:

Latest workout won't open and it won't connect to strava again.

M70%
by M####:

Update: App is getting better. There has been several updates recently. Running ok on Galaxy S5.

M70%

It doesn't work.

M70%

Excellent App! Love all the data!

X70%

Lost most recent ride and unable to connect with strava after latest update.

Enjoyed before the forced log on mode. Cadence count is off from on bike device. Lost all historical data which was stored when app was changed.

by N####:

It works now, and works really well. Strava is connecting now.

Hey, it's free. Looking into paying for Trainerroad, because this is pretty disappointing. As others have noted, it's way buggy. Seems like a single-coder job, with no one testing out the app. Or reading these reviews. Response times for tickets are not too fast, either. Not too surprising, given the small volume of adopters and the low cost of Kinetic trainers. But seriously, folks-- maybe drop this thing and just make a deal with a dedicated software provider? 'Cause this is not making you any friends. Edit: And today I can't even get in on my phone, though the web site has access. These folks are trying to run a software company, but they are amateurs. Leave it to the pros, folks.

A70%
by A####:

This application is so inconsistent. It fails 70% of the time. Currently I cannot upload data into Strava and the application does not let me pull up my recent cycling data. Horrible.

M70%
by M####:

Utter crap. Feel bad for whatever undergrad they made code this by himself. Does not connect with the sensor and there is ZERO FAQs regarding any fixes. Its honestly mind blowing how little effort was put into this. The "set up" manual consists of, "Plug it in." That's it! I'm dead serious, that is all that it says is just "Plug in the magnet to the hole." Nothing on pairing the device with the app. That app itself also has NO start up explanation, no how to, NOTHING! You have to crawl through it yourself and then go online and try to read up how to use it. Then when something inevitably doesn't work (how could that not happen when so little effort was put into it!?) There is literally nothing you can do but put in a ticket that they will "try to get back to you on." No support database nothing.

M70%
by M####:

Getting better. I now get consistent power readings throughout a workout, and I figured out how to sync the Sufferfest workout with my downloaded (purchased) library of SF videos. Used to be able to get a workout sync'd to Strava, but the (Android) app will no longer connect. Not sure how cadence is calculated since I'm using a Ant+ cadence sensor. I presume there's a default, but it would be very useful for users to be able to set their gear ratios in their profile.

W70%
by W####:

Kinetic customer support is horrible, trainer only connects to apps it likes, this app won't upload to strava. I'm ready to return this for a wahoo

M70%
by M####:

The app works well for me using the kinetic power meter on a rock and roll trainer. The app keeps improving. It is now easier to connect the heart rate sensor and power meter.

Z70%
by Z####:

This app is terrible. Works so inconsistently!!

M70%
by M####:

Completed workouts keep disappearing or causes app to crash. Even new updates to the app don't help. Worst app ever! Loses data. When it does work it doesn't transfer to Strava. Customer service keeps closing out tickets without truly fixing problems. I just use my wife's iPhone. Don't understand why they don't care about Android users. Regret buying Kinetic, I thought it was supposed to be good.

R70%
by R####:

When it works it's a good app, if only it worked properly more often... Loses rides, won't share rides with Strava, sometimes doesn't make bluetooth connections... Frustrating, might be time to switch to Zwift or something else.

M70%
by M####:

The title says it all. I can no longer sync with my InRide and the app, although looks better, provides very little. A lot of cyclist use the kinetic products, so why half-ass an app that turns people off from the brand. Please update. It's riddled with big.

M70%
by M####:

I used the Android Beta version of the inRide App when inRide was a separate App. It connected 100% of the time and stayed connected. The functions were very basic but at least it worked. With the new Kinetic Fit app for Android, it connected once in close to 50 tries. I replaced the battery in the power meter (essentially just a smart speed sensor) which didn't help at all. So far this has been a useless app. Turns out it was the battery again. It needs to be replaced every two or three weeks.

V70%
by V####:

1. Crashes constantly. 2. Loses data. 3. Falls out of sync. 4. Unfriendly user interface. 5. Maybe it's going to export your data...maybe not... 6. Poorly responsive developers. File more than 2 bug reports and prepare to be ignored. 7. I mean, it's free. So that's something.

M70%
by M####:

I have tried to work with this app but, at least 95% of the time something is wrong. 1) You have to calibrate every single time 2) Manually connect the sensors every time 3) Once you waste time fiddling around the settings and you finish your workout, some portion of the data is missing 4) Auto upload to 3rd Party Apps (Strava) is as good as flipping a coin 5) Today It lost my workouts a fundamental flaw so uninstalled it....

Y70%
by Y####:

I bought an InRide pod specifically so I could use my Road Machine on Zwift and this app is the gateway, unfortunately. I have had almost no success getting a roll-down calibration number (above 6.50) that doesn't make me decelerate (power drop to zero) like I'm going in reverse if I let up in the pedals for even a nanosecond. In Zwift this has the effect of making it nearly impossible to ride in groups at a steady pace/power, as I'm constantly having to catch up when the power randomly drops to zero.
