Clorox Pool for Android
inaccurate readings have read and follow instructions numerous times and keeps telling me the water is acid when my pool store and manual kit showed alkalinity.
Installed the app because the bottle of Clorox chlorine stabilizer said it would give accurate dosage recommendations. It does not provide any dosage recommendations. It's one big advertisement for all their pool products and it's using close to 100MB of storage.
Worthless! Stabilizer readings are bad. Always showing low levels no matter how much stabilizer you put in your pool.
Awful. Never works. Almost seems like a scam. 'Scan within 15 seconds', meanwhile, it never scans. I see what you did there.
Not for spas. Minimum number of gallons the app will recognize is 1,000. Why call it Pool & Spa? Uninstalling.
I failed pool owership 101. However, my pool is sparkling clear. You can see the sunken pool toys at the bottom. Thanks to this app! It makes pool ownership easy and stress free! Thank you so much! I am not paid by the way. Just my little ole opinion.
I started using this app bc we are first time pool owners and I thought it would be easy to use and accurate. I was very wrong. I have been using the strips with the scale on the back of the bottle before downloading this app. All my chemicals were fine with this method. After I started using the app it always told me that the ph was low, alkalinity was through the roof and I never had enough chlorine. I decided to take a sample to a water testing place and they told me everything looked fine as far as chemicals went although some were a bit high. So I put the cover on and "baked out" some of them (We live in Texas), shocked the pool like the water testing people told me to do, tested it this morning using the scale on the back and everything is fine. Decided to see what the app would say and it says the same thing as it did before, low ph, no chlorine and sky high alkalinity. I'll be uninstalling this.
After receiving results from my water test, I click next to receive recommendations and the app freezes. Also when I goto water analysis history and pull my water test results it also freezes. I reinstalled to no avail and I have a Samsung s8 with the latest updates so that is not the problem. Also, I went to the website and attempted to look at my water history and it froze again. This app and the website has promise, but only if it works! Please look into this and I will update my review.
The app crashes as soon as it scans the strip. I hope no one is foolish enough to tell me to use the manual entry... I bought this so I don't have to trust my eyes to decipher the color hues. Should have just bought a cheaper box is strips as always..
Why did you put out an app that doesn't work? Constant errors and crashes. Android phone both my husband and I can't use. Would have been a great help with our pool but if it crashes after opening and after trying to use it is more trouble than its worth. Please fix it
Bought the kit thinking it would be a fool proof way to accuracy determine chemical needs. App constantly said I had super high alkalinity and low pH. After following it's recommendations for a week, my pool was toast with a pH of over 8.5, yet the app still said I needed to add pH up. My advice: throw the kit away and save yourself a few hundred dollars in chemical mistakes.
Bad advise according to Clorox customer support. App indicated I needed to add 2 qts scale, metal and stain remover for high alkalinity and to add 2 qts for high total hardness. A total of 4 qts. I called c.s. # to confirm & she said only add 2 qts. I said, so the app is giving bad advise and she said no it just doesn't take into account that it's already recommended you to add two qts. My response was, that's bad advice. This explains why the chlorine levels are through the roof after following the apps advice. What else is this app not taking into account? Disappointing!
May work once every 15 times, will throw away product and use more expensive tester. This doest work on Samsung note 5
App doesn't provide readings and suggestions for spa water as it mentions. Readings for spa water must still be done manually, app gives vague suggestions of how to keep water clean. No more useful than a simple internet search or a few months of experience.
I've used this app for about 4 months now, haven't had a problem, now if it DOES scan the strip, it doesn't give me ANY info, stays on the same screen. Loved it, when it was working properly.
Awful. Not accurate. Different results every time. My pool was clear before I started using this now it's cloudy.
Easy to use. Got to include the black tab in the picture window when scanning test strip. Also do NOT shake test strip after putting in water. Pull strip out horizontal to prevent contamination.
Good luck trying to get it to scan within 15 seconds as recommended. All you get is too blurry and then it asks if you want to rescan
I used this app and after using it I had to drain my pool to start all over again. This app will lead you the wrong way.
Worked good for 4 tests then nothing. Doesn't track most recent scan, adjusting pH with this app is next to impossible, for example, tells you to add 1 pound, measure and weigh out and it is way too much. And yes I do know how many gallons my pool is.
Well this app is easy to use, sometimes it likes to crash. Also when you're inputting the water capacity, it does not have small enough capacities for small spas.
I think this app help the pool supplies company make money , my chemical levels were perfect before I start using this app, now it is all mess , I even got to different results from my pool water within 2 minutes apart between each test . I will definitely find different way to test my pool water
App takes forever to or doesn't open at all. When it finally opens I have to try 3 or 4 times before the camera will pop up to take the picture. Once it takes the picture and gives me the results, it only tells me one recommendation but won't let me scroll to see how much to use or any of the other recommendations
Called pool and spa but doesnt allow you to make an account if you have a spa, doenst give measurements for spas. Pointless
Stupid, the app tells me the same thing my owners manual says. There is no way to get test results for a hot tub. Uninstall
Can't get software to open just keeps saying to check my net work which is working perfectly. Tried several times but no luck Very unfriendly do not recommend.
They promote this app on their products smaller pools yet they won't support smaller pools on the app. Didn't even get to see if it worked.
The app is very inaccurate with respect to alkalinity. Not much better with pH, chlorine or stabilizer.
Requires a long account creation process to use the app. This app is just a way for Clorox to get your information while offering you zero value.
It sucks in 3 days I've used it I've had to uninstall and install everytine so forget scanning within 15 minutes.
Ap constantly freezes! Horrible
It says Pool and Spas and yet there's no way to set up a spa
Not recommended is really bad
Needs to be more accurate!! No spa option and that's what I needed this app for
unacceptable battery consumption
Will be uninstalling and using a real test kit. This caused me to add way too much stabilizer (also because there is stabilizer in the shock and chlorine tabs as well which just compounds on top of levels already there) and always said my pH was too low. Took a sample to the local pool place and pH was perfect but stabilizer was way too high having to then drain my pool. I will rely now on my pool store and their products, not Clorox or an app...lesson learned!
At first, the app wasn't scanning for us but we didn't realize that the whole strip had to be scanned (including the black square where you hold the strip). The whole strip had to be placed on the grey background then scanned. It didn't need sunlight just natural lighting. It gave us great results and great feedback. Even told us how many lbs of each chemical we needed to get our water where it needed to be. It's sad it has such a low rating when it's working the way it's says its supposed to.
As a first time spa owner, I need all the help I can get. The ONLY reason I got the app was for the convenience of being able to scan the strip and it would give me results. For weeks now, it would not give me any results, only ask to rescan or enter manually. It doesn't matter what lighting conditions. Always the same. I have a galaxy s6 edge plus, so I know my camera is fiod enough. I expect more from this company.
It tells you to take the scan within 15 seconds in bright sunlight ,it takes the app longer than that to focus. That's why they have the option to enter the results manually. Keeping the test strips and deleting the app... Then they had the nerve to tell me to scan it on the grey bkgd. No duh Sherlock. Just admit it doesn't work and move on.

Worthless. Not intuitive at all. I finally figured out how to access the camera but can't get it to take a picture so it doesn't analyze anything.
