홍릉숲 이야기

홍릉숲은 1922년 임업시험장(현 국립산림과학원)이 현재 서울 동대문구 회기로에 설립되면서 만들어진 '우리나라 최초 제 1세대 수목원'으로 당시 이곳에 있던 고종황제의 정비 명성황후의 능 이름(홍릉)을 따서 이름 지었습니다.
현재 홍릉숲은 국내외 다양한 식물유전자원을 수집 관리하고 기초 식물학 연구 및 식물유전자원 확보를 위한 시험 연구림으로 지정되어 관리되고 있고, 주말에는 도시민의 자연학습 및 환경교육을 위해 개방하고 있습니다.
홍릉숲 이야기는 홍릉숲 방문객의 편의를 돕기 위하여 숲길, 주제별 수목원, 주요 수목, 서식 생물, 산림 연구, 산림과학관 안내 서비스를 제공하고 있습니다. Hongreung forests 1922 Forestry Experiment Station (now the Forest Research Institute) is named after the function name (Hongreung) maintenance Empress of Emperor Gojong was in place at the time of the establishment as made "Korea's first first generation arboretum" in the current session of Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul built name.
Hongreung currently being collected and managed forests and forest is designated as a pilot study for a basic botanical research and plant genetic resources management to ensure a variety of domestic and international plant genetic resources, weekends are open for nature study and environmental education of citizens.
