Conventional scientific calculators only do half the job, they calculate with numbers while ignoring the units entirely. UCalc uses dimensional analysis to calculate with numbers and units. This offers a big advantage over the conventional approach: your result is given the correct units, you have a check via the units that the right calculation has been performed.

This approach allows for a deeper understanding of the equations being computed and is particularly of advantage to science education. UCalc performs scientific calculations how they should be done and mirrors the methods used in enlightened science texts where worked examples show units for all the numbers used.
