SPL Meter for Android
Very straightforward to use, and great, use able features. I've just downloaded it and don't have an opportunity to calibrate it at this point, however found it immediately useful for doing relative noise surveys of our meeting rooms at work. Obviously the response and pickup pattern of the phone's mic will impact the validity of any calibration, especially for octave and third octave band SPLs. For more critical applications an actual measurement grade omnidirectional mic could be connected, or just get a "proper bought one" measurement system, but for cheap and cheerful this is a terrific little app.
Nice app! All business and no distractions. Very accurate when calibrated. It's a keeper.
Great (& free!) measuring tool. Thanks.
Doesn't do the one job it's supposed to. Measure SPL. It clocks in at double what every other app does. 80db in a quiet room?
The best, most comprehensive SPL meter app available.
Great app
Every other dB meter app I've ever tried has been off by a significant factor, making it pretty much useless. But after comparing to known values, this one is accurate down to about 2 dBA! Great UI, awesome advanced features for people who know what they're doing.
The audio signal cut-off point is displayed with an average of 250ms delay off real-time metering. Smart tools Db meter has a much faster response and sampling rate. However this app is good for free and ad free product too.
This is awesome. I have not been able to check cal. It has bar spectrum analyzer switchable (I think) to time display. Looks good and works better. I am a recording engineer.
The app is cool, but I wanted to measure my car without buying an expensive piece of equipment. Unfortunately, and I know my car is louder than this, its tops out at 130.00 dB so I think that my phone may not be able to understand anything louder.
Free and functional without ads, cant get better then that. And unlike other dB meter apps, the only thing this app requests access to is the microphone!
If this apps actually correct I'm doing 123.3 dB on put on with 2 pioneer ts-w304r's and a little 3 inch speaker for the tweeter on an old Kenwood 150 watt stereo
I find myself using this A LOT since I downloaded it. You might be surprised how noisy your "quiet" environment actually is.
Trying to set up surround sound but before I turn speakers on it flickers 79-91dbc when I speak it says my voice is 130db!
Without exception the best Sound Pressure Meter that you can install. The ability to calibrate against a known datum lifts it from just being another toy, in to the realm of being a useful tool.
Picking up vibration from neighbors property who is sending vibration in to my home by 20 feet.

Absolute crap. Cannot calibrate on Moto Droid Turbo 2. I'm an audio tech with access to accurate reference equipment, and this app isn't even close. Setting the cal at 1kHz at one range should work for all ranges, but it doesn't. Also, touch screen controls are very inconsistent and unreliable. Changing ranges is a supreme pain in the a$$.
I think, for being FREE, that this app is truly amazing in its power and scope of measuring abilities. Sure, one could carry around a professional SPL meter, but in a pinch, this app is fantastic for what it offers, and we should Thank the author for providing it to us for free with so few permissions requirements. I wish all great Android apps were this good!
I use this constantly. We got a $400 meter we use when OSHA comes for inspection due to noise. Whatever that meter reads, this app reads the same dbls. Super app. BIG THANKS!
After trying several sound meter apps, I finally found a keeper. Don't be put off by the gimmicky blue border; the inner workings of this app are actually functional. The default calibration seemed to read a bit high for my Galaxy S5, but the app can be recalibrated quite easily with a one, two, or three point calibration.
All their other apps are the same. I would like to donate.
A little bit too skeuomorphic design to my taste (these edges waste guite some screen area), but excellent functionality. Menu could be larger, on my 5'' FHD screen its a bit too small for my fat fingers :)
This app is my preferred metering app out of more than 20 free apps I tried. I'm pairing it with a MicW i436 and once the calibration process is done I get ±1dbA readings next to a NTI XL2 that's a couple thousand bucks... Impressive stuff.
Perhaps a yellow to red gradient to help visualize where hearing damage happens could be added otherwise just perfect.
Noobs in car audio use this app in car audio and swear they be bangin

Accurate I have 2 15 hitting 150.4 on a real SPL meter and this one is off 3 db
Reads about 30 dbA high on S5. Normal conversation reads 95dbA.... Wrong
seems pretty accurate, if i put my stereo receiver at 40db i get a reading of 38-40 on this app.
The ability to calibrate against a known level and C-message weighting measurement are very useful additional features to have. Thank you.
The SPL was way out good interface but otherwise useless
Almost doubled the actual meters
This is a wonderful piece of software that can be used in a number of environments. If there was a program that deserves 5 Stars this is it !
good great view Thanks, anil , radio prasaran fm dept.

Nice looking, a lot of options, but the readings for many sounds, including single freq tones, are not even close. It is not a calibration issue, this is a design issue. This design does not respond to a single freg tone anything like an IEC651 SPL meter.
Remark this as one of best free app although very well designed w/o annoying ads. Many thanks! (hope it will not spy our mic ..as it not quite fairly demanding for some full network access...)

The measured outcome is ridiculous where a minor wind blow can reach up to 1000++dBA
