Function Generator for Android
Great little app for my audio lab. One request, can you add an option to keep the signal active even when the app is only running in the background?
This application is feature-rich and very useful, and it's free, with no adds!! Great work and spirit, guys...
Very nice app. One thing lacking is the ability to play in background and or with screen off which would be nice if u intend to use for infinite hours data grinding the whole audible spectrum indefinetly and then some, guess ill have to get a another phone exclusively for this app. I love the sweep feature. The burst feature is a little time consuming to use. Very education useful helpful fun app A++
Works great for my purposes. Here are my few observations. I've built a microphone opamp circuit to pick up the sound wave from this app. Sinusoidal signal passes really well, square and sawtooth signals barely recognizeable. It was expected, because the signal has to pass through the smartphone speakers, then through the air, the microphone and my circuit. If I connect the outputs directly to the oscilloscope, all signal shapes can be easily recognized. The frequency was not very stable, jittered around +- 3Hz, but that was good enough. The amplitude noticeably rises with the frequency. This can be heared by ear.
Was not what I came to the app store for, but I was curious by the app image and downloaded it. Was pleasantly surprised by how long I would go on to try to learn how to use it, what the different results would be by toggling different settings. Was enjoyable. I'm sure it has more utility to someone who knows what they're doing more than me.
Kudos for "no permissions", free, and ad-free. One minor complaint: Landscape mode is upside down for me. I'm on a tablet, and I normally use it in the orientation that might be considered upside down, because otherwise the charging cable gets in my way. I'll add a star and update my review if this gets fixed.
This app is especially helpful in thwarting electronic gangstalking efforts. Modulate in FM on one channel and AM on the other and play around with the settings. Once you achieve a sound that grates on your very nerve play it via ear buds and you will find it you now own them.
Great app for testing audio amplifiers and speakers. It doesn't have the capability of a hardware function generator, but it's free without ads or permissions. Fantastic job developers. LJ, Norwich, UK
I wish it would keep running in the backround tho, so I can use an oscilloscope app at the same time. Other than that it's perfect! Edit: Just got Nougat, was hoping I could use split screen, but it says neither of the apps support it.
This developer (keuwlsoft) has a small collection of apps on the Play Store. Every one I've tried has been powerful, well-designed, and bug-free. The amazing part is that they are also free with no ads! I don't know why "keuwlsoft" is being so generous with his/her coding skills, but I'm very grateful.
Very well implemented and the two separate channels allows intemodulation and beat frequency effects. Excellent. Only thing is I don't seem to be able to store settings on exit.
Just what I wanted... <3 works flawlessly; and as it have some very serious controls, I recommend atleast HD screen device, if you don't have one; its not app's fault. These guys did great and app is simply awesome. Thanks
This is the kind of app I like. It DOES NOT need to view my photos, personal appointments and what I ate for dinner. I only wish more apps were developed like this. Plus it comes to us ad free. Hats off to the developer :-)
Looks good but froze on my Cyanogen OnePlus1 Model A0001. Android 13.1, no audio output slider bar frozen. Android version 6.0.1. Cyanogen Mod Elderberry. About to upgrade to Android Bacon.
The app is fantastic and complete, but the square wave is not square. I don't understand if I do something wrong, but even the triangle wave is incorrect
Great app. I just switched from bluetooth to chrome cast to get better audio quality, sadly I can't use the app anymore to test my stereo. Please add Chromecast-enabled to the app. thanks
I keep looking for the 'catch', but there isn't one I can see. I thought software like this died with my PC. This is incredible.
Only thing missing is a sleep mode, to save battery life... doesn't affect the score though, aside from that it functions perfectly.
A great app for the electronics technician or enthusiast on the go. Wonderful when you're unable to lug around a full function generator. Well designed and really functional!
Only app ive ever used that is free, no adds, and no permissions. A great tool for any audio consumer. 5 out of 5 all day long.
I was looking for a signal generator for testing an audio amp and speakers. This little app is way more than that but works well,is free and has no adds. Nice.
Great app. Could you add a log function to the sweep so that the resultant power is equal per 8va when sweeping frequency? That would make it epic.
Love it. I was wondering if the code for this app is openly available. If so, may you share a link to the source?
It says what it does, awesome app.. no ads, I am very excited to interface it with my test circuits... Thanks a lot
Covers just about everything that you need from a sig gen. One suggestion, could it run in the background or support split screen?
Absolutely brilliant simple well put together and most importantly free and ad free as promised.
A couple of extras would make this app unbeatable- direct entry of notes or octave ranges, and output by Bluetooth
Works perfectly, free AND no ads? This app breaks the infamous "Pick Two" rule of mobile apps! As an avid amateur electronics DIY'er, this app does everything I need it to for my projects and more without needing to buy a $6 million signal generator to take up space on my workbench. Did I mention it's free and has no ads? I did? Good, well, I said it again. You guys are awesome.
Pros: dual channels, lots of options (including duty cycle); cons: can be confusing (sometimes I have to reset the app in order to make it play again), controls small. It would be nice if it was a bit more phone and user friendly.
Awesome ... simply awesome! Keuwlsoft has a ton of useful products. The only problem that I have had is that I've been trying to contact them for custom work ... the listed email gets me nowhere.
Seems more suited to a tablet than phone screen. Lots of wasted space on my screen.

I don't review much unless an app is really useful, superb, clean, etc. This app rules. Such a nice clean interface, and an especially excellent color scheme for those that are color blind. Thanxxx.
Works great for testing loudspeakers or ears. As a hi-fi enthusiast this is my go-to tool if I need a signal generator.

Connectd the headphone jack to a mini osiloscope and had me occupied for a long time! :D. Just loved it!
Got much fun of it and I believe someone will get much use of it!
I teach physics in school, and we can't afford a generator. This app just saved us £300 - and guess what - it's BETTER than the hardware I wanted!
Very intuitive and useful. Fun to mess around with for sure
