About Bye Bye Monsters
BEDTIME CAN BE A VERY SCARY TIME FOR YOUR CHILD
When your son or daughter is at the preschool age, they’re at that stage of development where their imagination is very vivid, with nightmares become more and more frequent. While they dream, their reality becomes distorted. That funny clown they saw that morning on TV (which they giggled to) becomes a scare monster at night. Don’t worry. this is perfectly normal and a stage that all kids go through.
TURN THIS PROBLEM INTO AN OPPORTUNITY
Helping your son or daughter manage their fear is an opportunity for you to become the hero. No matter how irrational it may seem to you, your child is adamant that there is a monster in the closet (or under the bed). While the child sees this interaction as a chance for mommy or daddy to take care of that monster, you should look at it as a chance to bond with your child and help establish a foundation for continual communication, where problems later on are greater than the occasional monster.
ACKNOWLEDGE HIS OR HER FEAR
Resist the urge to tamper their fear by saying “Big boys aren’t afraid of monsters” or “Don’t be a little baby”. Not only are these put downs insensitive, but the fears will continue and you run the risk of your child becoming afraid to tell you of anything else he or she is afraid of. Use this moment as a chance to explain how it’s normal to be afraid and how you were also scared when you were the same age.
MAKE NIGHTTIME A LESS SCARY ENVIRONMENT WITH BYE BYE MONSTERS
Make Bye Bye Monsters a part of your bedtime ritual. This app introduces your child to Laura, a friend who’s here to help deal with the occasional monster. Read along with Laura’s as she helps calm your child by introducing the idea that the monsters are not mean, they’re just silly and mischievous. Laura is here to tell them to leave your child along, so that he or she can sleep. As proof, the monster scanner is activated and shows your child on screen that their room is All Clear.
This app can be used one time, or as many times a night as you feel is needed.
FEATURES:
• Choose from new or returning friend.
• Variable dialogue, so that parents are not reading the same story to the child each night
• Radar will always conclude with “All Clear”, so you can be confident that the app will help alleviate your child’s fear
HOW TO USE:
• At app’s start, select “New Friend” and enter your child’s name when prompted. If this is the second time (or more) using the app, select “Old Friend” and select your child’s name.
• As the dialogue loads, read along with your child. Your voice communicating to them is part of the reassuring process. When you reach the end of the dialogue, press the green button to advance screens.

My little one is scared of the dark and this app is a cute way to help him sleep at night. He loves the radar that shows the monsters are gone. Well designed! Definitely worth 5 stars!
