It's not Angry Birds! I bought the pro version solely to help with simple watch regulation. Yes, you have to read the whole manual possibly several times to really tease out the sections that apply to your goals. I configured it step by step just as recommended in the on board documentation and found the UI perfectly suited to the task. No more waiting days and hoping I got the click just right on an ETA 2824-2 or fiddling with the crazy adjustment lever on a Seiko 6r15. Thanks so much to the developer for his work.

If visualisation of the real time signal is what you are after, then this might be the right app for you. Unfortunately, I was after application, that would allow me to check accuracy of s/h watches, prior to purchase, so that I don't have to lug with me Timegrapher, everywhere I go. For that, this app is not suitable. At least not with the Samsung S7 Edge.

Truly useful. The controls are not easy to learn, you don't have much feedback besides the effects of the adjustments. However it really works as intended and is a truly useful and fine piece of software. Great work! And, you really, really need to read veeeery carefully the documentation.

Exactly what I was looking for! FFT beat detection works very well for calibrating mechanical watches, showing you the seconds/day deviance based on the detected balance wheel cycle rate. The UI isn't the best, however the concept is brilliant and it returns accurate results.

I find myself wanting different values from what is available to choose. Like height and bins and 96000hz. Could you please add a prompt? Seeing how "Spectrum Spectrogram Analyzer" (SSA) has WAY more resolution in time and frequency, I changed my rating to 3 stars. This app does appear to be bad now in comparison. SSA, for example, gives me 96000hz sampling with 8192 bins resolution and zoom - what resolves one second subjectively 50 times more accurate.

Genius, maybe not a watch regulator by design but after half an hour of fiddling with settings and watching the tutorial on YouTube I regulated my Vostok Amphibia to about 15 seconds a day gain. A quick way to improve the accuracy of wrist watches.

As the developer says, tablet microphones pick up a lot of background noise, and the Samsung Tab A is no exception. I am unable to get the beat counter to stabilize on my tablet, but if I measure 2 minutes worth of ticks and have "Mark axes" checked, I can manually read the calibration. I only wish that the save PNG would also save the time scale. A time axis to frequency transform would be really cool! If I had the programing skills and the time, I'd have written one long ago. Update: I got it to work. In his video, he has the integrated spectra shown. The video is really helpful to watch. Also, placing the watch and tablet on a pillow to help dampen external noises helps a lot.

I am aware this is not a watch regulating app but as many of those who downloaded it that was my intended purpose, however couldn't pick up the sound of my watch and it's a miyota no Rolex so it tics but not very loud, only my frustration at the end of recordings

I use this to adjust watches. Hope there was "beat error" measurement all so. Other than that it's solid gold!

Good app. If you can't find the menu button, try long pressing you square or windows tab. Watch the tutorial multiple times. You will need to. Once you figure it out it's not a bad app. It would be given 5 stars if it were a little easier to use and not so time consuming to regulate your watch. If you have the time after you know how to use this app than it may work for you. It's not perfect and even after spending a great deal of time your watch may not be quite where you want it, but it will be better.

Seriously, developer deserves major kudos here. For less than 1/100 the cost of the cheapest hardware timegrapher, you're getting a capable, tweakable timing machine that absolutely nails the rates of most any mech watch you can throw at it. I've timed several Seikos, some Chinese "mall watch" throwaways, and several Swiss ETA's with this app, and it works like a charm. Needs some tweaking, and yes, the ability to read will come in handy. But for what you get, this app is a steal at 10x the price.

Since one of the key purposes of this app is regulating automatic watches, why doesn't it either come preconfigured that way or offer a one click config? Instead it makes the user change about eight different settings, and even then it's really kind of a piss poor interface with no proper instructions. Needs a lot of work to make it user friendly.

Great app! I was able to regulate a few watches (including some cheap know-offs) to within a few seconds per day. I would love if you could also include a feature to detect beat errors - it seems like everything is almost already there to do that.

It has a little bit of a learning curve, but once you get it, is so easy to use. Managed to get my cheapo 15$ automatic to beat at +3 sec a day. Will be using this app for all my watches from now on. Thanks for making this available!!! :)

A powerful piece of software which must have taken a long time to write but WAY too complex for most users. I guess many buyers will use it to regulate a mechanical watch from time to time (a couple of times per year) so there ought to be a "watch regulation mode" that hides away most of the guff and options that aren't needed. I've got a degree in physics and work in tech so should be OK with this, but gave up using it to regulate a watch after an hour or so of twiddling around.

What an incredible app! Once I learned how to set it up, was able to achieve near perfect timing on my watch. Well worth the cost. Thanks so much!

I've read many reviews here and the manual for my phone, I can't find the menu screen options at all, did find a way around this finally using accessibility menu and dexterity settings but it was a pain. Now it's going to take some time to figure out how this all works.

Can hardly use it... I really wanted to regulate my watch, but this program will 80% of the time tell me the phone's selected bitrate is unsupported, so then i have to close the program manually, then open it again, with a 20% chance that it'll actaully start recording or not. Once i stop the recording, it will give the same error again and i'll have to go through the whole exit restart process. It also does not save the number of beats per minute I set in the preferences, if i change the setting and then go back into the preferences, it still says Auto 1/s. Really disappointing, very buggy, and crashes all the time.

Can't get it to work. Looked at the video, saw someone tap the bottom of the screen and a menu popped up, doesn't come up on my Samsung S5.

I bought this app to regulate some clocks. Be sure to read the tutorial and configure the app properly before you use it. Once you've done that, the learning curve is not steep. My clocks keep excellent time now and setting them was fast compared to the old trail and error method. Other apps geared toward setting clocks cost around $5 so WildSpectra is a steal at 99¢. It's also the only app of those I tried that could properly distinguish my Seth Thomas's balance wheel ticking (and automatically at that).

Great app, VERY 'professional' layout (the kind you need a manual for) and a boatload of configurable options. The value in this app is incredible. I love configurable options. Unfortunately my tablet doesn't have a dedicated menu key, like most Android devices manufactured since like 2008 so getting to the options menu will be impossible for most users that don't have on-screen nav buttons (Samsung, I'm looking at you.) since there is no on-screen hamburger icon.

Have successfully used it on several watches and clocks using the built in mic. Even if you already have another chronograph instrument... Invaluable! When you're traveling, how many times have you wished you had your equipment with you? WISH LIST: Anniversary beats.

Impressive app. Put it on my Kobo Arc 7HD tablet and its fine. Spent the 63p and timed a watch to be within 5sec a day which it remains after 1 week. If it had a menu tab at the top of the screen would of worked on my Samsung tab S too.

Spent 45 min on Ap watching video and tried to learn. Cannot get the graph to show up. Ap won't detect beat even after putting watch (Amida wrist watch) in front of my Galaxy S4 microphone. Cannot even access the instruction. Tried watching a voiceless demo on YouTube to no avail. Tried the paid version 99 cents and refund requested. Ap not lived up to expectation.

Just awful. Ran once on my sg iii then would never start AG AIN. I want my money back!

I use it to measure my mechanical watches. It's a great app for that purpose. The app does have a bit of a learning curve but the tutorial is very helpful and the creator has a video that shows how to use the app. Put the time and effort in learning how to use and customize it and it'll work nicely.

This works very well if you read the the instructions in detail. It needs some tweaking for your particular device before its ready to work properly.

I don't write many reviews, spent a lot of time with app. Happy to have it, wish was easier to use. Will pay again for standalone watch timing version! Pro is no better than Lite, paid to support! Keep at it! User interface is very complicated; terminology exclusive to engineers in this field? Frustrating, requires trial and error. Example: I'm constantly told to change the "threshold gap" and this is not a setting. Have read the tutorial several times and watched the youtube video again and again (it has no audio/spoken instructions). The app will not work for timing modern mechanical watches without adjusting a lot of settings. The main issue is gain level/mic. Gain level on Spectrum, dB is almost too low to register the beats (like an ETA 2892 for example) or is too high on Spectrum, Power, the app can't process. Probably works better for pocket watches/old loud ticking wristwatches. Using HTC One M8, has dual membrane HDR mic. Put the watch on top of the phone mic in order to get a signal the app can process. Watch often hits the back, home or google key (grrrr); rotate the UI to remove home icons etc from near mic and display is jumbled. Look forward to updates!

I didn't really need this app - it was more to do with curiosity, to see if I could improve the regulation of the few mechanical watches I have. I saw good write-ups on a couple of sites, and, realistically, at a fraction of the cost of a pint of beer, it was worth a go. Downloaded and installed it this morning, on my ZTE Blade Q-mini (pretty much the bottom of the heap, as smart phones go), worked through the tutorial video a bit at a time, and it worked a treat. (You really do, however, need a quiet spot to work with it!) Two watches done (wrist-watches, not pocket watches) - theoretically improved from gaining 2 to 3 minutes a day to within a few seconds - we'll see how they perform on my wrist in due time. Irrespective of how well I've set up the watches, the software is excellent - many thanks, Keith - splendid job!

Clearly written by an engineer for engineers but it's a powerful app once you spend a little time figuring it out. 4 stars as gui could be improved.

This program has a bit of a learning curve at the beginning. It is not difficult to learn, you just have to take the time to read and understand the tutorials. My first time using the program to adjust an automatic watch and I was able to get my Invicta 8926OC to within 2 seconds slow a day from 15 seconds slow when I started. It took about 20 attempts and about an hour to get it to where I was satisfied, without this awesome program the whole process would have taken weeks.

This application is a must for mechanical watch fanatics!
