Sound Recorder Shortcut for Android
Small footprint and simple to use with no ads or intrusive permissions sought. And since it's been made available by the developer for free, I'm quite happy to have his (her?) initials on the icon to remind me who deserves the credit for giving me access to the innate capabilities of my own phone. So thanks, KN!
No permissions needed - top award. Galaxy Nexus running 4.4.3
I try to launch it and there's message: Sorry, couldn't find any default Sound Recorder activity
Updated to kitkat and this app vanished from the drawer yet was still installed. Now I can use it again.
-1 star. I needed something I could send or attach. Uninstalled

Go more then 1 mins most awesome recorder ever

Does what it says, it should not get lower than 4 stars because it is not the developer that made the Factory app. Google gave it limited features and "I can't find where the recordings are" is Google's problem when they made it. 5 stars

Abcd
Very small footprint (24 kB). Does just that, records the sound collected by the microphone. Sound files are recorded in the default format of the device (on my Sony Xperia Active running Android 4.04 with extension 3gpp, on my Motorola Defy+ running Android 2.3 with extension amr) in the SDCARD root, and therefore are easy to access and to transfer. The name of the file starts with "recording". The files are automatically recognized as audio files by the device. Limitations: the recording stops as soon as you do anything with the phone, therefore it is not possible to record sound while on the phone or using an other application.
Great app

Good luck decoding this junk. No instructions, no settings, no playback. Grab another recorder on the appstore and disable the built-in that this shortcut does nothing with!

This could have installed by default ..
Great app
This is not the Android default recorder apk app. It's a copy of the app. For some unknown reason my default Android recorder apk has No access , data
Good
My ultra didn't come with this
This is exactly what it purports to be, a shortcut to the existing recording programme. Files saved in root of sd card.
Great! +Terry Tomko HTC over here, too. Same problem, but it's an HTC issue - not the developer's. Download a file organiser, maybe?:)
Nexus 4
Great app
I think its a great app, but I don't know how to get into my tmobile HTC g2 internal memory, and can't listen to any of my recordings, if you know how to access my HTC G2's internal memory - plz post how to do it. thats the only problem you need to fix, add in one more button on the app that is a saved recordings function that allows us to push to view and listen to our previous recordings after making them that saves it to the SD card automatically instead of to the internal memory. Thanks
Good, but I want it to save to my folder in Play Music. Where did it go, anyway!?! Only two for now.
Will rate 5 stars if you'll remove KN icon from shourtcut.
Exactly what I was looking for. I was annoyed that the app was inaccessible, and I'd have to install another app that would take up space and battery power. This solved the problem and it's super small in size - it's just a shortcut. Perfect.
Didn't work on my Nexus 5 :(
I'd give it 6 or more *s just to try to equalize the inappropriate ratings left by crybabies about this developer's initials on the app icon. Seriously?! He/she made this app for us because Google included a perfectly good recording app in its OS but denied us the use of its functionality by stripping away the GUI. Read up; a lot of Android releases already have the UI installed. Docking 2 *s? Jeez. Tell it to the Android developers. Just say "Thanks" and move along.
It's great to be able to utilise the stock Android sound recorder using this shortcut. The only thing I think would be good would be to list the made recordings in a menu for playback.

Can possibly add some more features for value addition! But basic functionality is good.

Does not work on Nexus 5
Это не саундрекордер, а всего лишь диктофон для сообщений смс>ммс.
Would rate 5 stars if you removed the "KN" from the icon.

When I record it works fine then it says discard and done I press done and the app shuts down. That's the only thing.
