Model Railroader Issue Archive

Unfortunately, this app does not work on a fairly new Android tablet. Does not allow login - gives error "404 - contact Realview". I was trying a free trial, but I would mostly want to use this to read issues on my tablet, so I can't subscribe.

Why doesn't Kalmbach do something about revamping this entire app? Access to the archive isn't cheap. Subscribers deserve a functional interface for each of the platforms we access the archive on. I am very disappointed.

A BIG disappointment. Cannot login from either my Samsung Galaxy S5 or Tab S2. Receive an "error 404 - contact Realview" message each time. I expected much better from a reputable publisher like Kalmbach.

Kalmbach is ahead of the curve in some respects, but apps are not one of them. Archive access via this app is buggy at best, impossible at its usual. Given the limitations on their Kindle store bought magazines and how they market their eBooks, I would suspect the issue here has less to do with the app and more to do with poor advice and decision making when these things were first being planned. 2-stars for making the effort, but three no-stars for falling far short of the goal.

Unable to log in to see issues. The provided error: "404 - contact realview" is less than useful if a contact method or link is not also provided.

Cant log in. no search function?? Very disappointing MR. Pull this down and relaunch when fixed.

I wouldn't have tried this because of the bad reviews, except I love to look through these and find that particular photo or scratch building projects , love those you should do more, I don't understand the problems others have had, it seems to work well for me,..quick scroll threw the issues in monthly order, then select the one you want to veiw... Love it.. Thanks

Lots of work: search and sort, stability, at a minimum! Still on Version 1 after a year and a half says quite a bit about Kalmbach's willingness to invest.

This concept is a great idea but, has very limited options. Also, when you try to download issues, it just sits there and hangs. Sometimes it never even downloads the issue, othertimes it crashes the app. I've only had luck downloading issues after i clear the cache for the app, then, sometimes i get it to download. Not sure what the problem is, but please fix do we can enjoy the benefits of what we are paying for to access this.

Poor design, slow loads, no search function. Total waste of drive space. Uninstalled.

Can only open two pages per issue.....and it takes forever just to do that.

This is slow and buggy. I value my all access pass subscription, but this app doesn't do it justice. I almost never use it for that reason. Particularly frustrating because I would like my tablet to be the first choice device to access my all access account.

At least search by year and month! Scrolling back to 1954 is not acceptable. Search by author, title, subject would be great.

The only way that you can access it is to have a payed subscription to MR mag

I downloaded the app and tried to log in with my password and it would not let me in what kind of crap is this, needs a lot of work. I didn't even get a chance to download an article

Slow to run. Great content.

Most often will not load the magazine but will stop after the first two pages. When it does work its good but for the most part its far more miss than hit. Needs a lot more development.

This app pales in comparison to the benefits that you get from doing this type of research on a PC. As far as mobile apps go, this app is VERY slow to load and extremely difficult to use at best. The MR archives are a fabulous resource for all model railroaders. However, this app needs a serious upgrade in order for it to be usable, more responsive and of all things, functional. Short of making a series of much -needed improvements to this app, need I point out to everyone that this app flat-out sucks?

Works great during each use, you can download as many issues as you want, BUT you have to go into the app manager and clear the cache in between uses, otherwise it will fail to download more issues. And of course, the downloaded issues are stored in the cache, so you'd have to re-download any you want to read again. Definitely needs to be fixed

The MR Archive is a fantastic resource but you wouldn't know it if you only used this app. Slow to load, you have to download the entire issue even if you only want to view a few pages, no search function and no way to specify a page number if you know it. I realize the app is free but the archive is not. The archive deserves a better interface than this poor excuse for an app. If I hadn't tried the PC version after this I would have requested a refund on the Archive subscription. In short it works, just don't expect much.

Have uninstalled app because it's just too slow! Use the PC version to research any of the archive.
