※Users can allow the following permissions to use KakaoTaxi more conveniently. There are two types of permissions - required permissions you must agree to and optional permissions you may choose as an option.
1. Required Permissions
1) Contacts: To receive the arrival information of the taxi called from my device and to facilitate communications with the driver and KakaoTaxi ride.
2) Storage: To save the information of the taxi called from my device and view the information when necessary.
2. Optional Permissions
1) Phone: To retrieve the phone number to be used for phone verification from KakaoTaxi
2) SMS: To receive the verification code sent by KakaoTaxi
3) Location: For KakaoTaxi to identify my current location and recommend the best departure location
※There are two types of KakaoTaxi app permissions for devices running on Android 6.0 or above - required permissions and optional permissions. If you're using a device of Android OS version less than 6.0, the option of allowing each permission is not available. In this case, it is recommended that you check with the device's manufacturer if the OS upgrade is available and if yes, update your OS version to 6.0 or above. Please note that the permissions given in the existing app will not be changed even if the OS is upgraded. Thus, you need to delete and re-install the app to set the permissions again.
※You can use the service without allowing optional permissions.

Better than nothing but still flawed because the driver can see where you're going before picking you up and therefore still ILLEGALLY refuse you. Kakao should prevent drivers from seeing the destination and also provide an estimated fare based on the time of day to prevent people from getting scammed.
