Kaiten Mail (Free)

Reasonable app. Advert supported free version. Please stop allowing your advertisers to crash and/or make it functionally unusable. I'm talking about the spastic Uber banner that forces me to restart if it doesn't lock up k10 on its own.

Latest Android update breaks this oldtimer. As it is no longer actively maintained I will now have to switch to something else.

It has been months since these problems have been reported. FIX THEM!! Was better but constantly Antivirus software flags this program as having security problems. Also the ads in the app are very annoying especially when they cause the whole screen to jump, blink and shutter. Resolve the security problems and I'd consider getting the paid version to get rid of the dumb ads.

I had problems with outlook and gmail it doesn't load any email. It seems that the app doesn't have access to the server.

They make a lot of arbitrary UI changes that are not always improvements, and seem to have problems with QC before pushing updates out, but nonetheless it's the best mail app I've found.

This app has cost me friendships and opportunities. I loved the design. I loved the staunch cold-heartedness of it. Like fake Le Corbusier architecture. It worked. It had a clear structure of its usage flow. Kaiten Mail was perfect. But for one of my IMAP accounts it one day stopped sending messages. I never noticed because the composed mail was send without any issues - AT LEAST THE UI SHOWED SO. I was puzzled that the mails didn't show up on the server when accessed from my computer but I thought nothing of it. Not until I tried forwarding an email I just received I noticed something was amiss. My friend, sitting next to me didn't receive the forward. I sent it four times until giving up and sending it by the Share-> command and then sharing to gmail. That worked ! So WTF , I go back to the app and go through the folder view and I notice that there are 8 unsent mails in the OUTBOX - the oldest of them from November, 4 months ago ! I lost two big opportunities in my life to this crapp. I have deleted it and I am now using the fork kalled K-9. It looks identical and it hasn't exhibited any of the annoying problems of this app.

Saving as draft only works occasionally. It worked once, then failed to twice now when I started email away from an internet connection and tried to save as draft once I was back online.

Just like the other "BETA" product the test on people, K9 Mail, this has just as bad support......DO NOT PURCHASE THE PAID VERSION.......you will be sorry, feel ripped off, and angry at them for taking your money and leaving you behind.......just doesn't work on my phone, and no help to make it work.......

THIS IS DIRECT FROM DEV SITE: November 7, 2013 Problems with Android 4.4 Notice the DATE!!! 1.5 years! Sadly, Kaiten currently doesn’t work very well with Android 4.4 (KitKat). We’re working hard on fixing the problems and hope to have an update ready soon. Used to love this app until it stopped showing the content of emails (text or html). Hoped it was Isolated to my Note 4. Just installed on S6 Edge and still not working. I wrote to developer. Same developer that took my money but it's been almost 3 months NO REPLY. Too bad I can't request refund now. If you have a problem with app do NOT expect assistance from those you paid. They took our $ and ran.

Can you please add an option to disable the account colors. I do not like the account color bar to the left of my messages. If you can do that I will purchase the pro version.

Not a bad mailer, but with latest Android upgrade, would crash whenever I tried to select a message for deletion, etc.. Looking online for solutions did not suggest a very active customer community. Switched back to the original K-9 which appears to have surpassed Kaiten in functionality and stability.

I used the free version of Kaiten E-Mail and it was fine but I discovered one significant problem for me. I didn't realize this but I kept using up my alloted monthly digital bandwidth, which for me means I get to now download everything at 2G speeds. I finally figured out which app was using up that bandwidth, it was Kaiten E-Mail free. I assume it was the advertisements. I get more e-mail on my K9 e-mail for my primary e-mail provider and the amount of bandwidth it uses is small compared to the memory bandwidth used by Kaiten E-Mail free. So now, I will once again be well under my limits now that I uninstalled it. Other than this issue, it was a fine app.

Really. Fast and easy to use. Only thing is that quite a lot of HTML formatted emails are hard to read as they appear as smallish pages within the email.

Love the delete function in the notification bar but it doesn't actually delete the email

Mail sync is a nightmare. I have to manually refresh to get any of my messages.. interface is nice but the ads on the bottom are my number 1 turnoff in any app.

This app is well designed, easy to use, and is fast to respond when opening messages and deleting or marking messages as read. (Replaces MailDroid which I've used for some time but became laggy and battery intensive.)

Please change the icon in the notification , it is very similar to the icon for sms

Best email app ever

Today I am migrating from the old version 1.250 to 2.0.12. All the features from the old version have been implemented and more. The best mail client for Android!

I was just about to buy the full version when along came the latest batch of updates. WTF is the idea with the giant gaudily coloured letters in msg preview mode? It looks awful and is very distracting. Would have been 5 stars last week, what a shame...

Nice app that still needs some polishing. Will get 5 star when I'll be able to send mails to my Google Groups.

after I entered account data, it said "not a valid store URI" and did not continue - junk - (hopefully not just stealing passwords...)

I tried all of the email apps to get my new work email to work and none of them did. K-9 and aquamail were a pain to set up and uses a boring and unclear design and ui. This app will push emails even from godaddy email accounts. After hours on the phone with GoDaddy and emailing the other application developers without any success I cannot recommend this application enough. Will be paying for the full app

I installed this app plus K9toPebble so I could view outlook mail on my pebble watch. Works great at that (have to use IMAP mode though as it doesn't support newer versions of MS's Exchange Server) and have found some options very useful.

Okay app. Would be better if it would fetch emails in the background
