I tried using this for autocross in "rally" mode and it proved useless. I was not driving on a pre-defined track, and there is no way to set ad-hoc start/stop points. I also tried "track" mode or whatever, and it failed to detect when I drove laps in a loop. It also took several minutes to figure out how to control the app. Most screens begin with a "help" overlay, a weak attempt to compensate for an unintuitive design.

Really complete app. Precise lap times compared to track timing. I can use it with or without my external bluetooth GPS and both works perfectly. And it provides much more info than the official timing so you can learn how to beat yourself best times.

This is the best app I found for on-the-fly lap timing. If you are on track and want to compare your trace to the ideal sector trace as you drive, this allows you to do so, just like iRacing delta bar does, for instance. Very usefull for discovering the best path and speeds on a track. The display changes color from green to red gradually as you go below or above the best sector you have ever done. Plus, it is really easy to setup a track. Way easier than most lap timers i tried to use. Plus, the author has good email support and gets things fixed if needed.
