The whole plug and play is really neat touch. Very convenient. Whats not convenient is that USB cannot stream music like headphones..most of the people these days use music streaming apps. This app to my knowledge only reads file on my phone, too much to ask may be, but would make so much more sense if the phone detects the player as a speaker connected via usb.. also music via USB is usually of higher quality than 3.5mm jack

Had to dig through the stereo manual to figure out how to just get it to pass the phone audio through instead of shuffling local files but it's working fine now. Would be nice if the unit could just take a USB signal like a nice headphone DAC, but this is a small hurdle to jump. Autoplay is convenient.

This worked like a charm for me with my "old," Moto G phone and I loved using it in conjunction with my Car Stereo. However, I've just bought a brand new OnePlus 3 and now, the stereo doesn't recognize the device. It charges it and I get a long wait while it says "READING," and then "CANNOT PLAY!" Such a pity as I'm now having to either use the AUX input which means I can't control the device from the Head Unit, or go back to using an iPod in the car, which means carrying 2 devices about, which this was supposed to solve ;O( Is this an issue with USB C, I wonder?

Jvc use to be my go to for car audio, not the case anymore. Using this app with the radio is terrible. The left side speakers can barely be heard playing any music when I use a usb cable. Plug in the headphone cable and boom all speakers work. Tried multiple cables and have the same issue. Also this app crashed my phone a few times. Overall very very bad u.I. and poor quality. Very disappointed.

It's a waste of money and was a waste of time to install this car stereo. It worked on the first day and after a phone system update for my Galaxy S7, it won't do a thing. I bought it for the use of USB connection for my music. Please fix this and make it work again!

I have a KD-R463 car stereo model, and it worked out for the first song only. In the second song it paused and never went back on. Tried to delete the app and reset the radio, but it was never able to locate the phone again as if it is not connected at all. The usb port is driving me crazy anyways as it refuses to read many usbs. Thought it will work now, but it didn't, shame on you jvc!

It said I had no media player compatible with the stereo, so installed this useless thing. Kept saying I wasnt connected to a JVC unit. I had my media player open later on, decided to try again and it started to play. It was coming from my usual media player, so I didn't really need this junk. Uninstalled.

It works great with my Android phone! After making a nifty driving playlist, though, I was disappointed when it started playing my songs alphabetically. I got it to play my playlist at a super soft volume, but every time I tried to turn it up, the radio went back to the original alphabetical playlist! Anyone know how I can fix this?

This app serves as a display and read source only. This app would be so cool if you could actually control the deck with your cellphone. One thing I did like is when I plugged in my device it took me directly to play store without me having to search for the correct app. Kudos please update and add more functions.

Good idea, but issues as follows. Usb playback using an Xperia z2 is glitchy with all formats. Music play keeps closing at random intervals. Music play needs to take priority over other media players as the inbuilt Sony music player fires up causing conflicts. Ability for phone calls to come through the usb audio would be a plus as Google map directions do also. Please resolve these problems. I have upgraded the firmware on the kdr471, but still issues

Just got a JVC deck and was surprised to find it works with my Nexus 6 running PureNexus 6.0.1r1. It took me a few days to figure out that I could search songs, artists, and albums from the magnifying glass button on the deck. The only issue I have with this app is that it doesn't always display the album artwork, and there's no phone-side controls. Also, I sometimes hear pops and crackles, like a vinyl record. Must be the cheap USB cable I'm using. Though it remembers where the song left off if I unplug.

Bought JVC head unit as I was informed of worked best with Android. WRONG! Worked for 2 days and now just either says 'no usb' or sits READING for ages. Pointless

T70%
by T####:

When I originally plugged my phone into my r850bt with USB it told me to download this. As soon as I did my deck shut it self down and factory reset. I tried again, same thing. I uninstalled the app and now the deck works perfectly. WTF jvc?!?!

T70%
by T####:

Constantly says no usb and goes back to reading and back to no usb freezes my phone. Every once and awhile it does work but 9 times out if 10 it pisses me off.

T70%
by T####:

It works all OK, connects up to my head unit without issue. But, it plays all songs in alphabetical order not in track number order. I can't change it anywhere, basically the flow of all albums is wrong. I've given up and just use a USB memory stick now

T70%
by T####:

It's annoying that every time I plug my phone in to charge with the USB, it switches the source automatically. I see no options to change this. Plus I don't even need this app.

T70%

Says it is playing, but there is no sound. Controls are horrible. Would not recommend this app, or JVC radios.

Radio plays my google play list with out it haven't found a way to add songs to this app will be uninstalling very soon thanks for wasting my data to down load this

Cmon JVC! You must have seen at least some of the latest reviews. Just get us something that can actually work and don't render our android phones useless when trying to connect to our car radios. Is it too much to ask? Thanks. PS: Your VCRs used to work just fine back in the day. Don't let an app beat you :-) It can't be that difficult to get it to function properly.

T70%

Worked okay for a week hence the two stars than it started crashing. Crashes maybe 10 times when i connect before it lets me use my default player and is just a massive pain

T70%
by T####:

The only reason I've installed it is to get rid of the annoying attempt to install it everytime I plug in my phone without it installed. Luckly now it just crashes so now it doesn't launch properly.

Absolutely useless, head unit recognises the phone, sees all the songs but no audio comes out when I press play

I've had previous phone work just fine but my new phone is using USB C and it only recognizes the phone initially and then won't charge it or play music through the app.

Followed the instructions and no matter what this app dose not work, won't recognize my phone or radio just get a message saying can't play. Disappointed and massively let down!

VERY buggy. 1: Had to try *6* different ROMs, before finding a 5.0.2 variant that worked on my HTC One M8. All other ROMs (including stock) kept connecting/disconnecting USB in rapid fire, to the point where the phone was unusable when plugged into the radio. 2: Even on the ROM I settled on (LeeDroid 5.0.2) I frequently get "No USB" or "Cannot Play", and the radio jumps between BT Audio source and USB "Audio" mode. Rarely auto-selects "Auto" mode, and takes about 50 seconds to recognize the player after I do get into Auto mode. 3: CANNOT PLAY APPLE LOSSLESS!!!! ALAC files from your iTunes (or wherever) collection that you've put on your phone, will be sent to the radio in Auto mode, the metadata will show, but you will hear *nothing*. You've got to keep pressing "Next" on the radio until you happen to hit a FLAC, AAC, WAV, or MP3 file. ALAC is open source! Support it! 4: No seek, no way to select tracks from the phone app - you've got to use the clumsy search button on the radio, no proper use of this app as a "player" in any sense. If I hadn't already thrown out the box, I would rip out and take back the radio, just because of this absolutely lousy and buggy app. Horrible.

This is almost a virus. If you plug your Android device into your JVC unit, it always asks you to install it...multiple times. If you install it, it keeps asking you to make it your default player. You can't disable it, and if you unistall it, it asks to be installed again. I just use the Bluetooth to avoid this piece of junk.

Worked for awhile but now it never recognizes my phone, then freezes and crashes. Have to unplug several times for it to work. Also have never been able to play Pandora! Every time I open it it pauses my actual music and if I try to turn the volume up while Pandora is on, it switches back to my regular music and pauses pandora! Its absolutely ridiculous but of course can't plug your phone into the stereo without this app. What a headache.

Love the stereo, never have had a problem with any other jvc radio ever hooking up to my andriod, but this app only pulls from the device and doesnt let me pull from spotify or any other music app, and it takes forever to get it shut off so the other apps play. Pain in the butt, not what i was looking for when i purchased my radio. Can we please get an option to stop the auto plays? a pause button at least??

There is no option to browse or select the song through the app. Have to change the song one by one on the system. No play/pause option too.

It worked I guess? I'm not sure what it was supposed to do. Even after it was unintalled I was still able to use the usb slot to play audio from music apps and BBC iplayer.

Play music without sound on every JVC Head Unit that support Android Music function It used to work at first time I've try. But now it's gone. What's the problem? My phone model? (Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE with Lollipop firmware updated) My country? (Thailand) or this apps need to update new version?

Well, iv used some rubbish apps in my time but this takes things to a whole new level. Wont recognise phone, wont connect to head unit, no function, screen unresponsive. Waste of time. Dont buy a jvc headunit expecting to be able to use this app to play music through it.....

All I want is to listen to Pandora from my phone to my radio and it says I'm not connected even though the music playing on the radio then it kicks me off

I only downloaded cause it pulled it up first time I plugged my phone into my new headunit. It is very slow too connect and always pops up to want to connect like 2 or 3 times and I have to go in and stop it b4 it will allow me to connect to Pandora if I switch. Works great do like I can control from my radio and remote without looking at my phone much easier....just slow to connect and respond! If fixed could be a great app n would recommend.

Work's perfectly plays my phone's music through car speakers no problem at all. Skip music using the car stereo and it changes on phone. 10/10

App is unlocked responsive will connect and disconnect on its own back to back. When I'd does finally link no sound but says it's playing...better for just using an auxiliary cord...

Have a LGG3, with JVC KD860BT head unit, self-installed. Blue tooth works, Pandora works, thumbs up/down/skip/info display etc, phone playlists work. Guess it depends on the phone and head unit.
