Flyne. The Offline Reader. for Android
The app looks great but crashes a lot on launch or simply displays a blank white space for up to 30 seconds. Full articles, despite having requested full fetch, are often not fully loaded which is frustrating when signal drops. Importing OPML would be a nice feature.
Flyne Is Ripping Off Flym. This dev is trying to steal the rep of another dev. I got this thinking it was Flyn. But instead this dev figured Hey... lets make a similar name and try to get people to pay a buck for this app and make money off another devs rep who is not charging a penny or puttings ads in his app. DONT BE FOOLED.
Dev went to work for Twitter so no more updates. It was awesome now it sucks. Don't pay for his apps!
A legitimate alternative to the now defunk Taptu with some desperately simple fixes that would make this the best app for news. If the designer follows up on the wishlist this will be a winner. UPDATE: After a few months use this app is in desperate need of updating to catch up with others out there like SmartNews.
It really only supports twitter links (not text posts) and feedly, but of several apps I have tried, this combines them the best. You might need to do some massaging and sorting on the twitter/feedly end, but it's almost worth it. Unfortunately, it can't play gifs or videos, both of which are very common on twitter.
Hate how to use feebly and twitter which are free apps you have to pay.
Nice app nice design there is one issue on Moto G 1st gen though, It crashes on opening and closing the expandable list on sliding menu. Great effort in making the reader app. Keep up the nice work! looking forward to using this app.
But seems like the dev died, or he completely forgot to update this app in ages, there's still a lot of little bugs that need to be squashed.
All sorts of broken now, load full article almost never works. App is now pointless. Do not buy, it's now abandoned, or Dev no longer cares.
Easily the most beautiful reader app. Handles full articles even when the feed doesn't. But it marks as read as you scroll, so there's no going back to things later. And I can't find a way to set things read or unread. So it's basically unusable.
The reader is ok. Best part is that I can add twitter and feedly and read offline. UI is nice. Some article formats don't transform into reader well. It often doesn't download the whole article, even when it thinks it does. Can't select text to copy. A little buggy on refresh, I often have to close and reopen the program. Too many bugs to mention. I'm going to keep using it but I'm hoping it either gets the bugs fixed or something similar comes out.
if I use twitter and feedly, i have to pay twice. When I paid for feedly, and there's a sign of "premium" , I thought I've paid for the premium version (including all features), but I paid for the feedly only.
I wanted something like Feedly that didn't truncate every article. This is so close to that, but it has a few major issues: 1) The option to automatically download the full articles doesn't seem to work. I have to tell it to download manually. 2) I have duplicate feeds and no way to remove one of them. If these could be fixed, it would be a major improvement for me, but this app doesn't seem to get much attention. Why can't we add/remove individual feeds? That's kind of a basic newsreader feature.
Functionality works for me, I actually love it. However reasons like, paying for feedly and twitter separately.. and not being able to remove specific sites from the "custom" sources make this stale very fast. Example being I like the "Technology" source but do not wish to ever read anything from the verge. Ever. No dark theme is disappointing too.. the red is, OK, but not at night, its hard on the eyes. Other improvements could be options for layout such as card styles ect.. More then just compact view.
Refreshing manually seems to sometimes work and other times just hang with the refreshing animation forever. The pull-to-refresh function sometimes doesn't even seem to be there -- but other times it is. The refresh notification is different depending on whether you pull to refresh or choose from the menu. As others have said icon could be a bit more in line with the otherwise very nice design. All minor points and still 5 stars because it's a great app.
I like the offline functionality that has been missing since Google reader was shut down, works well and the design is nice. Edit: after a few days use I really like the format and the offline feature, this was really missed. Once synced with feedly it's a great app.
Requires two premium payments - one for Twitter and another for feedly. Not a bad way to do this, but not clear until I bought one... Then the other.
Crashes constantly on Moto G. Randomly marks an entire category as read. Nav drawer doesn't update counts properly. There's no cross device sync. It shows me the same articles multiple times. The share menu should be upgraded to the modern menu. I want to be able to add sources. I'd like to be able to open tweets in my Twitter client to interact with them.
I like the UI of this RSS reader a lot. I like how you merge RSS with twitter feeds. There are several bugs, though, and it appears that these may not be a priority for the dev? Refresh doesn't work/show up most times; the feed I was previously reading shows through the page on the new feed I'm reading at certain points on the page. Weird stuff.
By far the best UI and great for offline.. But the selection of articles and news sources is rubbish. I select a mix of interest areas and get bombarded with the same topic a million times. The real news gets knocked out by the latest phones and other bland stories. I don't mind a bit of light reading, but it's all I get even though I've selected world news. It also forces me to subscribe to every outlet covering the same event. This app results in a mind numbing experience.
I paid for Feedly and Twitter support, because I need the offline capability this app delivers. Unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't update automatically for days, and even manual updating is iffy. Worse, oftentimes the app won't load at all until I forcibly close it first. It doesn't appear to be supported any longer, so I couldn't recommend this right now.
...once you've bought the feedly extension. The premium key should unlock both feedly and twitter at the same time though.
The most beautifully designed app I have had the pleasure to use, let down by a riddling of bugs. This thing is crashing to the home screen constantly.
It looks great, and is the best Android option for Feedly that I have found. Offline sync works well but sometimes does not pick up whole article.
Please update that icon and fix only half of my feed items showing up. As well as the load more button not working. I'm using Feedly.
The free version limits the feeds list. It is of no use to me if I am unable to specify the Rss source I want to use.
Easily the most beautiful reader app. Handles full articles even when the feed doesn't. But it marks as read as you scroll, so there's no going back to things later. And I can't find a way to set things read or unread. So it's basically unusable.
No longer occasionally, it's always now the need to force close app to get it to work/refresh news. Developer puts quick UI upgrades well before long existing bugs. the app really hasn't gone anywhere in forever now. I'm a fan of this Dev from Falcon Widget and Pro. I can no longer recommend Joaquim Verges to anyone between this and how falconpro was handled as obviously UI upgrades gets him more press and buyers than fixing things for current users.
Wish the app had a dark theme, I see that it was stripped in the latest UI update. Haven't paid to get twitter and feedly added as I use FalconPro for Twitter (also from Joaquim). But I would not mind dropping the feedly app for Flyne, especially if the dark them came back.
This run smoothly on my phone and is brilliant for a quick fix on news but I have problem on rendering any symbol, and I mean any symbol like ' and ". Also it seems to cut down hyperlinks and repeat the not cut in place of what is cut. Sorry for the long review but couldn't find a report button.
Okay. I just want to apologize to Joaquim Verges. I have been a huge fan of Falcon Pro since 1.0, and I love Falcon Pro 2. But I've always been a bit skeptical towards Flyne. After getting sick of Press's old design, gReader Pro's un-polished feel, the cheap feel of Feedly itself and tons of other apps that don't feel very polished, I took the plunge, bought the Feedly In-App for Flyne. I am blown away. This app has everything I am looking for: beautiful design, auto loading offline reading (took training Flyne to get this, but this is amazing), oldest to newest sort, marked as read as you scroll, and (I can't believe I'm actually listing this as a feature) Twitter lists! This is a great app that has turned a skeptic into a true believer. Go Joaquim Verges!
Looks great, performance is buttery and the UI works really well. The best RSS reader out there right now. It still doesn't sync properly between my devices, though.
Even though I have changed my Rss feeds in feedly, Flyne still shows the same old feeds. And it doesnt even show some rss feeds.
Can't believe they would remove night mode, makes no sense. Will change to 5 stars if they return it though.
This is a really nice app. The articles' layouts are well done. I love the Twitter integration and how it automatically pulls a linked article. There is no cross device sync. Using it on multiple devices is difficult since you have to scroll through articles you've already seen. The share menu should be upgraded to the modern menu. I want to be able to add sources. Nav drawer doesn't update counts properly. There is a bug where an entire category is marked as read when I haven't read all articles.
Finds all the awesome links and stories from those I follow on Twitter. It has nice presentation and I love that it supports offline mode.
Really bad compatibility with feedly. Paid for being able to log in with feedly but does not even sync starred items or fetch complete articles with images. There are better free alternatives.
Ui is fast and easy on the eyes however. As of right now some of the popular feeds I originally added then later unchecked are still showing up in my feed. Also if I do a pull down refresh sometimes it will load to infinity and I will have to do a force close.
Love your work, Joaquim! It would be great if we could get the dark theme back, and have the option to have articles marked as read when opened (as opposed to when scrolled past) that would improve an already great thing!

Icon doesn't match material style of the app. Animations are too quick. Using Lollipop and material apps, then coming to this, it's fairly obvious. The fee to use my feedly source is ridiculous. Charge for the app if you want, but Per-Source is awful. Nice work though! Won't take much to iron out those issues.
