About Venice Tourist Travel Guide
A guide of Venice free and audio, with an included map, without the need for phone connection
This guide offline using GPS location offers itineraries (25), sights (180), restaurants (80), shops (80) and other practical aspects; a detailed map is included. This guide is a general guide of Venice with cultural connotation. If it does not replace site visits, it has the ambition to give a clear idea of the city you are visiting or you live in and its history, during your walk.
If you choose to download it, to optimize its use, it is helpful to read the following recommendations.
- 2 WAYS TO USE THE GUIDE: VISIT PREPARATION OR VISIT.
When you are on the spot of a sight or an itinerary, the map will center on your calculated position with GPS (use the Refresh Center-based map). The icon that figures the user is green. When it is red, it means that the location is off or you are outside the scope of the map. In this case, the map will center on the spot or in the middle of the itinerary you are viewing. So you have interest during the preparation of the visit to disable the location, if you are already in the city. Once you're visiting you must obviously reactivate.
The application is equipped with a paging function (cards for an itinerary, sights shops or restaurants nearby). You can, by calling an item of the list, browse adjacent cards to select the most interesting items for you.
- VISITING: 2 MODES
You can use the itineraries. You always know your location with the map and the GPS. The Refresh-Center button is used to precisely center the map. The application is flexible and you can avoid monuments or take a reverse way. You can browse all the cards of the walk for an accurate selection.
Another mode is to go to an interesting place and use the concept of proximity. With this feature you to know the landmarks nearby (sights, restaurants, shops ..). The application extracts a list of cards and you can browse them. By pressing on the icon map of a card you find all those items represented by colored dots around you.
- SMARTPHONE OR TABLET?
The tablet is the most convenient device to prepare the visit; you can better read the texts and enjoy the pictures. Visiting, although the tablet (if it has a GPS) can be still used, the smartphone is more manageable if coupled with the use of voice synthesis to read the cards (activated by pressing the speaker icon at the bottom of the cards). You can then use a headset, or simply put your smartphone near your ear, as in a phone call. In all cases we recommend to fix the screen in portrait mode.
- VOCAL SYNTHESIS
The audio function uses voice synthesis function of your smartphone. In the most common case this function exists in your device and is enabled. Otherwise, it must be enabled (Settings / Language / Text-to-speech / Preferred engine) and in some rare case a download is necessary (eg Google text to speech). If the engine is missing, you are notified.
- PREFERENCES and PHOTOS
Preferences are a mean to make a customized guide by selecting certain sites or certain routes and view only the selection. You can also constitute a real digital photo album of your trip by replacing pictures of monuments by yours (see procedure in the app). Warning photo resolution is not maxi for performance reasons.
An operating mode is included.
