I honestly don't know what some people are expecting for $10.00. This app is the perfect compliment to Media Center. It allows me to sit on my easy chair and easily control my 77K music files. Looks good, feels good, and simple to learn. A couple of tips. Tools/Options/Media Network/Advanced lets you customize the view and how things are presented on the app. Also you can view the current playlist by right swiping when a file is playing. You can also delete or move songs around in the playlist. Then you can save the playlist and it will show up on your computer. When the app opens, there is a search icon. Don't use that one. I click on audio, then artist, and then search. Once I click on an artist, I have it set up to list all the artist songs. Click on a song and it goes to the end of playing now. Couldn't be easier.

It really Doesnt work. The ios version works perfectly. It might eventually play one track and if your very lu ky a couple of minutes later it might play same track again but more likely crash. I buy a lot off jriver but this is a joke. Would want a refund but there seems no way. Save your money and time

This doesn't seem like a better offering then eos or even gizmo. It's just a different look or template. I would call this app LAZY. This can't be the app that Apple fans were ecstatic over.

Z70%
by Z####:

Better than Gizmo, but also $10 more expensive. Has a lot of potential, but lacks some really obvious functionality like being able to see the current playlist. Doesn't remember your place in the library hierarchy well either, so you're constantly re-navigating. Also, no controls in the pull-down menu.

Sorry but it is not worth the money. Other cheaper remotes are much better. And it is now no longer under active development as the guy responsible for writing it has left the company

Sorry, but it causes MC to crash and has numerous bugs. It can't be used for more than a couple of albums before something goes south. BubbleUPnP is way superior for controlling MC. Maybe they'll get it right but in the meantime I know what I'll be using. Addendum. All this time (years!) after my review above and the app is still unstable. The progress bar flicks to the end on selecting the next track and negaitve numbers are displayed. These problems self-correct after either switching the screen off and on again, or after two screen auto-rotations. The developers seem to have no idea or just don't give a hoot.

JRiver Media Center on PC is great! JRemote a big $$ disappointment

The app is very good with a very nice GUI. You can actually do quit a bit with it. In my system is very fast when selecting a song from my server. I was surprise that you can read metadata about the artists that's playing on the app.

Let's remember that the Jriver we love was crafted over many years. If they give this app the attention it deserves, I'm hopeful that it will become top notch. That said, it is evident in a few ways that they have more work to do.

M70%
by M####:

It's quicker to get up and use the touch screen on the pc (connected to the DAC). Selecting an album~20 seconds wait; Trying to open an album to select a track either just hangs, or incurs another ~30 seconds wait to make your pick. Albeit this is whilst upsampling output to DSD256. Nevertheless, eos remote app processes the exact same commands in about 8 seconds.

Gizmo is free and nearly works the same. Images still not properly supported on devices and Google Cast. Bought BubbleUPnP for only 3,99 and it works like a charme. Shame On you J.River.

Used this now on a couple of different mobile platforms and still love it. Best functionality of any of the apps that interface with Jriver media centre, and since upgrading to Media Centre 21 its even faster than ever to connect to and browse my library. Highly recommended app that has ease of use, easy setup and allows me the freedom to take all my music with me everywhere. Thank heaven's for all-you-can-eat data plans!

Great, use this everyday. Edit: spoke too soon, plays a few tracks and then crashes.

Haven't used it for awhile, but was pleasantly surprised over how good it's got. Chromecast works beautifully!

Gizmo does 95% of what this does and is free. Just get Gizmo, save your money.

No Volume Levelling. Great for video but forget about streaming your favourite music compilations because this lacks the replay gain of even the most basic android player . If your using to stream audio forget it

Surprised. Gizmo is free and does pretty much the same things. Expected much more for the price.

I like it but sorry I had to request a refund. For a well executed app how did anyone exclude the ability to add currently playing track (on the server) to the server Playlist. For that I still need to return to my PC. Hope someone wakes up to this and 5 stars will be a no brainer. Update: Figured how to add a playlist. Now please SUPPORT CHROMECAST and it's a 5 star app!

Repost: Dec 2015, still no Chromecast, now rating 1 star. Works great on my Google Flex, but still no Chromecast. Was promised, very disappointed. Have to use the FREE gizmo for Chromecast, sad. MC21 talking about an app, is it yours, will they beat you?

They've steadily made improvements to the application, and the performance has gotten better. It's a little closer to the iOS version now. Everything is very snappy and smooth on my Nexus 5, but it's a little sluggish on my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Jremote is a must have if you run jRiver as a server.

A huge improvement over Gizmo (which I have loved). The ability to pull up metadata on songs, and the swipe-left from "Now Playing" to the current playlist are great. So far I haven't experienced any of the glitches others have mentioned except that "Artist Bio" doesn't seem to work, and the progress bar in Now Playing doesn't always keep up with the song. Other than that everything works well. (I use the app for music only, so I can't speak to issues with video or other functions.) I would like to see the ability to enlarge thumbnails -- they may look good on a phone but on a 7" tablet they're a bit small. I probably wouldn't spend $7 on a "beta" app from anybody other than JRiver, but I think this one is worth it. **UPDATE* -- The most recent update to JRemote now allows resizing of thumbnails. Thanks guys and add a star

Works as advertised! A little pricey for a music streaming app that doesn't have an offline cache option. If such a feature were to be included who would need a pay subscription music service? Just VPN to your home computer.
