The i Digital Edition

This would be a great app but there seems to be a problem detecting the correct screen dimensions on my Hudl 2 tablet. The content is limited to a square area, the lower half of which is obscured by the thumbnails that let you navigate between pages. It was OK for a day or two when first installed, so I guess I need to delete the app and start again...

Terrible app, needs to keep progress and restore to last place when reopened. Very simple and feature light app.

Given how poor the reviews I was not very confident but willing to try it. But there is no free trial and you cannot even buy one copy. Minimum is a £5 subscription. I like the newspaper but the digital approach is way behind the competition.

Absolute rubbish. Installed and paid for annual subscription two days ago and have not been able to download. Now says password or email incorrect and no way to reset it. I have asked for a refund and no one is getting back to me. Save your money.

App refuses to download >50% of the time, customer service just ignore emails for assistance or to cancel. I eventually got a reply when I threatened legal action.

Doesn't work for latest Android nougat so now I'm left unable to read the paper that I paid a year's subscription for. That sucks.

Seemed to work reasonably well using Android 6 but once my phone updated to Android 7 it stopped working correctly. Pages did not download, though preview did.

Won't work on galaxy s8 downloads preview pages but won't load big page waste of £5

Great newspaper but awful app. Editions will not complete downloads on my samsung tablet after recent Android update. Reported to developer, but have heard nothing after initial acknowledgement. No option but to uninstall.

Does not work, have to uninstall and reinstall but today even that does not work. The Telegraph use the same system, I assume, because that does not work, Also, puzzles never worked. Rubbish that they do not try running the software themselves before releasing it.

Paid £4.99 for a monthly subscription. App didn't work. Was unable to download or view anything. Have cancelled my subscription and uninstalled the app, but there doesn't seem to be a way to get my fiver back. Very poor indeed.

Wish this would stop requiring verification once downloaded. Very annoying.

It just doesn't work it gets stuck at the download the paper stage and has to be exited.

Very poor app which is a shame because the printed version is good. Tech support hopeless so couldn't get it to work properly. Given up and cancelled subscription.

Great newspaper which I _very_ occasionally buy in printed form but this app is hopeless. It is basically a set of photos of the printed paper's pages so you have to zoom in and out all the time and slide the page around to try and read the articles. Every time you change pages you get returned to a thumbnail of the page. I'll be cancelling my subscription immediately. This app is such a missed opportunity for the company as there are so many people looking for a good quality downloadable paper who will not regularly buy a printed one.

Trying to subscribe to your app, for some reason it says I already have a subscription but I cannot recover my password or get help despite sending several emails!

The app works ok-ish but the zoom can be very sluggish (especially on pages with large picture ads). You also can't change pages when zoomed in, so you have to zoom right out, change page, then zoom in again. Also there are red highlights all over the place 90% of which aren't actual links to Web pages or emails, just any sentence that ends with a 2 letter word and a full stop.

A few suggestions: Firstly, once content is downloaded, the app should trust that the subscription is valid if it's offline. Second, it would be really handy to be able to set the app to automatically download each day's edition at a set time (eg, I would choose 5am). Finally, I get the idea of presenting an exact representation of the paper version but an app should act like an app. Other papers' apps do this better - eg Guardian or the old Independent app (can't comment on current Indy app as it always crashes on me). Implementing some or all of these changes will gain stars in my rating.

Download this app at your peril!! Doesn't work then try to get your subscription back and they just ignore you. Worst customer service I have ever known. Seriously if you want to waste £49.99 then just throw it down a drain, you will get more satisfaction!!

Since upgrading android to v7 nougat the newspapers will not download anymore. A real pain ... can only use this on iPad now. Please fix to work with nougat.

Exactly what I wanted. A copy of a print newspaper available online. Not digital or interactive just like viewing a PDF. Text too small unless you zoom but with no updates you can go back to the page you left - pity it doesn't save yr place. Duplicate payment issues & poor customer service means I've had to cancel within 2 wks and lowers my rating to 2 star

Each time it's opened it has to verify your subscription and needs to go online. So no wi-fi, can't read. Download hangs at times, and you get no response to emails sent to the feedback address. Good paper, terrible app

The content is like the print version, which is fine, but I have written twice to highlight the issue that a downloaded edition of i cannot be read unless an Internet connection is available to verify the subscription. I have not received a satisfactory response and so, with regret, I have cancelled my subscription.

As a digital news app replicating the print edition it works as expected but it's not really a true digital interactive news app, perhaps it will develop further. I'm puzzled as to why it requires access to contacts and phone which should be irrelevant as it's secured with an email ID and account code.

Takes ages to dl an edition

Recent changes to this app have removed some of the puzzle options that I really like. Until these are restored I will discontinue my subscription and uninstall this app
