About Modality Speed Typing
When you buy Modality, you're not buying (1) A one-off; (2) A piece of garbage; (3) Something that exists only to make money. What you ARE buying is a small piece of a vision - something creative and innovative, productive, fun and useful - intended to carry forward into the future for a very long time.
We know that Modality is really only about 85%-90% complete, and they say that 20% of the work takes 80% of the time. We've put a year's work into getting it to that 85%, and now we need to go further. We know how to make Modality more productive, more useful, and even more fun, but we need people who understand the vision to give us more feedback and help us craft Modality into the powerhouse of productivity that we know it can be.
Right now on the Samsung Watch I can type 42 words per minute, and once I even typed 50 words in a minute. 50 words per minute is faster than a lot of people can go even on a computer keyboard, and it's twice the average phone typing speed. ON A WATCH! I can beat most teenagers, but then this one kid, a two-thumber, hit 66 words per minute on his phone while I was going 45 on my watch.
Even though 45 words per minute on a watch is VERY impressive, and even though that kid is almost three times the average phone typing speed, I still wanted to know how we can loosen Modality up even further to compete with that guy. Not necessarily to compete with that guy, but to be the most productive and comfortable typing available anywhere. I know how to do it, now we just need to get to the point of that next development.
But here, in the meantime, we thank EVERYONE who has bought in already and who will buy in in the future. I am really impressed with Modality! This is a rare innovation-treat in the long-mired field of input technologies. I was able to install Modality without difficulty on my Android Samsung phone. The instructional videos were clear and to-the-point. Learning Modality is a process, but so was learning how to type, and I'm finding the Modality process quite enjoyable. I've never found it possible to transfer my touch-typing skills to the touch screen: the necessary tactile feedback to coordinate between all the tightly packed letters is missing. So I agree: the old methods really do not suit the new technology. Modality is an impressive re-invention of text input for touch screens. I've also enjoyed seeing the startled look on my friends' and workmates' faces when they see me typing with Modality. There's a great novelty factor. It's both practical and fun! I like the different levels that anticipate my learning curve, and in the occasional cases when Modality fails to produce the desired predictive word, the app still conveniently provides both a querty and a Modality direct input alternative. Thank-you, five stars!

Little bit of a learning curve but it's enjoyable and fun once you get the hang of it. Needed something different from the usual qwerty keyboard and modality is a great start.

Modality is a revolution in typing on a phone. It will take some time to learn, but in the long run will help you type faster and with more ease than a "qwerty" keyboard using only your thumb. I would recommend this app to someone who is patient yet striving for efficiency in phone typing.

I can see that text entering speed could be greatly increased using this app. It requires a complete dictionary of words typed. It also requires the user to have very good vision to see the choices offered by app as correct guesses. I don't see good enough for this app to be useful to me. I think $3.99 is a bit high considering that there is no trial offered. The lessons about how it works are good. There is room for improvement with user customization. (Resizing, color, placement)

Paradigm shift is the only way to describe this typing system. It goes against everything you have ever learned about typing. Though it is currently my default keyboard! great job on breaking the mold, dev!

(had this for about 3 days) I really wanted to like this app and I tried to use it knowing that it might take a while to get used to. I figured the ease of not moving my thumb as much would help with my carpel tunnel. There were some moments where I was enjoying using it (I'm in intermediate) and I was going at a slow-medium pace, but I never got to the point where Modality was more efficient than a regular draw-to-type keyboard. (I know, I'm impatient) I find that the more I use it the more frustrated I get with it. The thing I find most annoying is that it is very unforgiving. Misspell one letter of a word? Too bad start all over. It's very frustrating to me especially when I'm already typing slow AF trying to figure out ONE word. Also I find that it doesn't recognize a lot of common words like sunflower. So I have to get to the cumbersome manual board to type each letter out, which are TINY and I seem to miss them often, and when I finally hit send I could have written a full length email on a qwerty board. T_T Idk man, maybe I'm using it completely wrong but I will try to give it a few more days before I uninstall. :/

Purchased this app three days ago and so far I am impressed. I have tried about a half dozen other alternative keyboard apps and none of them really made sense to me logically or operationally. This is different. I am getting the hang of it fairly well. The layout and methods seem to be more logical and easier to grasp. I hope to see this developed further including improvement in next word prediction and an increase of words in the dictionary without having to use the single key feature. I would like to see the word choices a bit larger, even though I understand screen real estate is lacking to make them much larger than they are now. It's probably a function of my age and eyesight anyway. Great start. Please continue to further develop this app.

I really love the idea, this have the potential of life changing, but. 1. You should add a settings page where we can configure a few more things. 2. More languages, I am from PR, where the the official language is Spanish, you need to add more languages.. Best wishes for this great app..

I personally believe modality fits the name of this app because it is a new, innovative way of typing. It is very fast and I love the new updates. I especially like the design and the ability to speak into my phone as my regular keyboard would allow me to do.

Couple of bugs but otherwise really enjoying it. It messes with your head at first, but keep with it. After about a day of use I started getting used to it and I expect to keep getting faster. Most of all it's fun to learn an innovative system and feel your brain learn from a challenge.
