About Photo Link FREE
Welcome to this application. PhotoLink allows you to connect any SLR camera that uses the system and support the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) to transfer images.
Due to its ease of use, it takes a few minutes to set up your Android device (tablet is that a simple smartphone).
Wirelessly transfer images to your smartphone or tablet from WFT system a Canon, Nikon or other file transmitter that supports uploading to an FTP server over your wireless network.
When a JPEG photos arrives, Photolink shows the last photo on the full screen of your smartphone or tablet Android even better.
With the help of the exif metadata, Photo Link will give you the following information: analyzes shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length, and histograms (RGB,R,G,B).
Currently Photolink has been tested with only the Canon WFT technology.
It is used with the famous SLR Canon 1Ds Mark III (and dedicated WFT module).
We recommend all to have an optimal performance and a larger storage space to set in your camera only the lower quality JPG transfer possible and not RAW (which in terms of MByte is much more expensive).
This program starts an FTP server when you download your photos.
This server listens for incoming files and when JPEG files arrive, they are analyzed and displayed.
The bigger the images are, the longer it will take to process them. Stick to uploading small JPEGs for a more speedy experience.
This free version of Photolink has limitation of 20 photos due to the computing power of today Android smartphones.
Currently developing a new version with an algorithm faster and soon will be released on google play.
Because of time to devote to the development, I will have to make a paid version (not much) but only for reimbursement of expenses.
The operation is very simple. Follow these 3 steps:
1.Properly configure user, password, communication port, etc
Remember that PhotoLink automatically creates a folder in your device name "photolink".
Since the devices are different and even the paths that can be found on every device, go and look in the "Configuration" the photos folder in the root your Android and select it as "Photo Folder".
2.Enable the smartphone and or tablet android the staff hotspot function and start the APP Photolink.
started, press the ON button on the remote server to enable the transfer .
3.Once activated the FTP server, take the IP address, port, username and password and enter everyone on your reflex in the setting of the connection section.
Once you set up your SLR as access to your personal HOTSPOT and the FTP server, you are done!
You can start taking your photography that you will see almost instantly on the screen of your tablet.
Configure your reflex?
For what concerns the configuration refer to the official service manuals of the camera.
http://www.canon.co.jp/imaging/wft/wft-e2/manual/ftp/index.html
Obviously for the operation of each reflex it must be equipped with WIFI or LAN communication module.
You should choose in your configuration of your cameras, both Canon and Nikon, the transfer of only .jpg files smaller mode. If you do not select only the image transfer .jpg smallest possible from your SLR, this could cause stability problems and unexpected application blocks.
Currently, this APP has been tested only with the Canon WFT modules in FTP mode.
We do not guarantee the operation of other devices, although we believe that it will go well for other brands like Nikon.
Your username and password?
By default, the user name and password are both 'ftp', you should change them.
You use this username and password when accessing the server.
There is a configuration option ("Energy saving") that fixes a problem where
file transfers go slow or stop completely when the phone sleeps. If you have this
problem, check this box and restart the program. Your phone will stay awake as long as
the server is running.
For power and security reasons, it is recommended that the server be stopped after use.
