Nome Científico

Seu nome científico significa: do (grego) korutön = cotovia; e _öpis,-öps = face;
e de delalandi = homenagem ao naturalista, explorador francês e coletor de espécies no Brasil (1818-1822),
Pierre Antoine Delalande (1787-1816) .

Características

O desenho do negro do peito, o bico grande e alaranjado na parte inferior,
bem como os grandes olhos negros emoldurados pelas penas brancas são marcantes e facilitam a identificação.

Hábitos

Pousa nos galhos mais baixos das árvores, onde costuma emitir seu canto territorial,
