only 2 chars? variable definition (=:=) is 3 chars so it is useless even as trial. edit. i`ve tested alright, service is slow as snail. edit2. sending and receiving commands from one device to another. it takes about 2-3 minutes to send message from one device and get back response.

Tasker integration problem (message length is truncated to 2 charters) I am using light version. when i Sent the message. It is coming properly in logs. Tasker integration when it display it is only showing first 2 characters in %arcomm

M70%
by M####:

The only issue I have with this app is the launch icon! It looks like Tasker has put on a goofy hat and is not taking my automation stuff seriously! :)

M70%
by M####:

This method is extremely inconsistent, sometimes it still thinks I'm using the lite version. Why not use generated license files to validate instead?

Z70%
by Z####:

Why, are they linked to Google play Games? These are tools for use with tasker, i don't understand why i'm being asked to sign in for Achievements and Leaderboards.

This app puts a permanent notification saying Sign-in Request that can not be cleared,

Most of the times notifications don't come because of some issues... Unreliable. We are switching to SMS which is almost instant/reliable delivery mechanism with tasker.

Thus, I'd say the Lite version is severely limited, and useless except to show that one can indeed send two characters to the device from a webpage. It would have been nice to at least be able to complete the example in the walkthrough. Even so, it works consistently, and I'll be getting the full version as soon as I post this. Although I'll give this five stars, my advice is to not waste time on it, and just get the full AutoRemote version. Edited to add: After reading some of the reviews here, decided to do a test. Sent 100 messages to my phone from AutoRemote's web page and every one went through; most in under two seconds, and two or three in just less than three seconds. Not bad considering I live in a rather rural area about 40km north of Bangkok.

Keeps getting killed by the OS on my LG Optimus S. Suggestion: add an option to keep an ongoing notification to keep it alive.

K70%
by K####:

The lite version it's very limited in what can be accomplished with it, and the full version seems overpriced at almost half the cost of Tasker itself.

T70%
by T####:

But... Usability is not there yet, also the lite version is just too limited, its almost impossible to test.

This plugin offers unlimited possibilities because it enables me to remotely control tasker from my pc and Mac. Eg, if my phone is stolen, i can just send a message from pc to tasker which then carries out my predefined anti-theft tasks(turn on gps, take a pic ,stuff like that).Very cool!

Abbreviations need to be written out. For a clever idea released quickly, it's great, but unless you normally read half-assed texts without a question mark in your head, it's entirely cryptic.

Next to Tasker, this is the best app I have on my phone. I love having the ability to work between my phone and computer. It is so discreet! You can make a locate my phone profile and work with it on your computer to avoid alerting a thief with texts. The developer goes out of his way to help you. Would DEFINITELY recommend!

Hi. I'm a computer programmer and I found it quite difficult to get to grips with it. However, I persevered and eventually worked it out. Brilliantly useful in concept and very versatile. Author could write some more complete documentation to enable users to understand the functionality but it is a clever piece of code. Well done! To those people who are moaning that it's too expensive you should try spending many hours of your time at a keyboard writing code, Android apps are very cheap on the whole considering the time that developers put into them.

I love the way this developer is genuinely interested in helping his customers. I requested a feature of this service, and by the next day it was done! I have _never_ written an app review before, but this was too good to pass up. I highly recommend any of his apps, and I have purchased the ones I use. For the kindness this developer shows, the price is not adequate. As for the apps, there is nothing else to say except that they work with perfect precision. The apps are truly real-world useful. This particular app (as mentioned by another online source) is a better match for tasker integration of push messaging than Notify My Android, and is much cheaper. Since the message goes directly to tasker, you can customize what the message does when it arrives, like either popping up a window on the screen, or giving a notification. Alternatively, you can make these messages "silent" by having tasker respond to them without a visual notification. If possible, I will be creating an article detailing the nearly endless possibilities of this when used with a scripting language on a computer. THANK YOU to João
