FREEforward: SMS forwarding for Android
In the app, neither status screen automatically updates the display after a message has been received and forwarded. I have to exit the status screen by selecting settings from the menu, then return to the status screen in order to force an update and see what had been received and forwarded. This is identicle on both sending and receiving ends. I have also verified that images are not forwarded, and indeed seem to be completely ignored by the app. There isn't even an indication that an image file was received and could not be forwarded. This sucks. Twice I had regular txt messages ignored too. The ability to send messages through the linked device is useful and is why I selected this app over the others available. That feature did work for me. I will be uninstalling this an trying another.
This app does exactly what I or anyone needs it to do. It will forward your text messages and you can even reply back on your primary phone, through your secondary phone!!! And it will notify you when you get a call instead of forwarding the phone call (which you can do on the phone itself if you want to forward the calls). Great app, love it. Would give it 10 stars if I could! Great job!!!
By far the best! Most just fowarded the text from other # with no contact info, so you can't reply . This one text content/contact info in its own app (this is very important). You can also reply from forwarded phone or original phone that received text Works perfect for me. Forwarding from an old LG phone to nexus Developer is very hands on also. I had an issue with new pixel 2 and he personally contacted me to resolve.
It's alright. You don't always get every message which makes you think what you're missing. Can't rely 100% on it. Also it would be great to see the full history as with normal messages history instead of individual messages. Same for call history, see the call log of the other phone rather than one off calls notifications which isn't a 100%.
**Update: I finally did get it to send msgs from the secondary device, though I didn't change anything, the "options" button just appeared where it hadn't been before. So, that's great, but then I learned it does not forward photo texts, which I really need for my business so it's not going to the job I want after all. So, I will give it 4 stars because it does what it says, but not 5 because it does not forward photo texts. Initial review: I'm not sure what I think yet. I can't get my 2nd device (the one I'm forwarding to) to respond to the forwarded messages as others who are commenting seem able to do. I have the option for "Allow linked device to send sms" checked but on the other device I can only view and click "OK" on the forwarded messages, no other actions available. If anyone can help me figure that out, I'll love it!
I use this app to forward my work text msgs to my personal phone which is an S8. It works great and I can even reply using my work phone number so no-one has any clue. The only issue I've run into is it's not stable. There are a few times where i didn't get the text msgs forwarded. Best thing to do is ensure they are connected every 6hrs or so by running the check linked device button.
Works great paired with an old phone which stays in the man cave and only connects via Wifi. Easy setup took 15 seconds. It'd be awesome if message duplication could be stopped when primary phone is away from my home network. In my case, duplication is not necessary when on the go with my primary phone. Thanks for making this!
Amazing, that's exactly what I was looking for. I've got a second business phone that I don't carry with me everywhere especially after hours, but occasionally I'd get an important text or miss a call. This way I can see if I need to reply, and even better I can text back via my business phone.
Works well, but emoticons being sent back through the source device seem to cause the message to fail. Might be an issue w my source though. Is pretty low end and emoticons come from new device. Would like to know what network ports it is communicating over though.
This app works well for a few days on two Samsung j1 phones and then stops sending messages. When you check settings linked devices it says the linked device is turned on and online... rebooting sometimes helps. I also have sms backup plus installed. Not sure this might play a role. I would not mind to pay for an app that is more reliable.
Great app, forwards SMS to 2nd phone (SIM) and a notification of a missed call. I like that I can respond to any SMS or call from the 2nd phone using the first phones number, that way my works phone pays for work related calls and SMS, and it keeps my personal phone number private. However, I have 1 gripe that would make the app a little better. 1/ having a delay before any notification is sent and only sent if the call is not answered or the text it not viewed. Other than that this app is a good one and I recommend it to anyone. Future users, it uses your data connections on both phones, so they must have data turned on.
This app worked great once, not now though. I un installed the app and got my calls back to my normal number but my texts are stuck being sent to the diverted number. Nothing I do solves the problem. Not happy
Not a single call or sms was forwarded. I even tried sending sms from another sim and this app never forwarded it. Either it will only work if nearby or within same wifi. Another issue is receiving device does not display the sms messages.
Uninstalling-this app didn't work past the 2nd day. It no longer would forward calls or texts. It's been over 2 weeks since I've told you and still no fix.
Working great so far, even over wifi. Only wish it had a notification on the secondary device that the main device had sent the message. It also appears that certain things like auto capitalization doesn't work in the message reply box even though I've got it turned on and works in other apps.
I work around the country and occasionally end up in a signal blackspot. This app lets me leave the phone in the car or at home and pick up texts and who's been trying to ring me, via WiFi. Works a treat.
Extremely easy to install and set up. Needs both phones to be turned on and a data connection to operate. Also forwards information on missed calls if that feature is turned on. Does not work for MMS, that would be my only suggested Improvement. Definitely not a deal-breaker though, I love this app! Even works on my old Motorola Admiral running Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread)!
Last time I used this app calls a text messages were forwarded to my phone, I could answer the phone and reply to messages. This time using the app I only get a notification I have received a miss call or message on my other phone, not at all helpful. Would be happy for the developer to contact me or reply
I tried a bunch of these. This was the first. It's the only one that shows your friends names as the sender. All the other ones i tried, every text showed as came from me. So that's nice. However... The convo is still disjointed. Also ads and no premium version. I will pay if you develop!
Only thing I'd like is an on/off switch. When I don't want to send stuff to my other phone all I can find to do is disconnect devices then I have to go thru the connect process again to hook up. Otherwise works great.

Seems to only forward over Wifi not 3g so having to leave one handset permanently charging and connected to Wifi is a bit inconvenient. The ability to send sms to anyone from the passive handset, not just in reply to forwarded messages would be a very useful feature.
I tried several of these to forward work texts to personal phone so I could finally carry one phone. I even paid for a few. This one is the simplest and works well and it's free. It's not the cleanest user interface, but it works. 4 stars since replying via forwarded number is a little clunky and it doesn't save your sent messages. Great app
This is the only SMS forwarder I got to work at all. I just wish it wouldn't just work if the app is open (as opposed to running in the background) on both the sending and receiving device.
When it works, it's great, when it doesn't work I found out hours later that I've missed a work message that didn't get forwarded. No error messages and when I check the connection it's fine. Not super reliable!
Great great great app. Works flawlessly. No hiccups, glitches, nothing. Only thing I would like to see is the sms to go into the phones messages app. I'm not sure if this is possible but that would be awesome. Keep up the good work.
Loved this app till i didnt need it any more. Now i cant get phone calls even after we disconnected the phones. Would live to give it 5 stars if this csn be fixed.
Worked great for weeks until I recently kept getting this error. I have Uninstalled and reinstalled only for it to give me a connection error. I hope that you can fix this.. it's a really great app when it works.
Works well for texts. I have my work phone forwarded to my personal cell so I don't have to carry two phones around. Only draw back is that it will not forward MMS messages.
Excellent piece of work but it looks like it's no longer being developed. Also everyone should obviously always assume the developer can read all your messages. Great app though.
Pros: it works and I do like the feature that I can reply sms from other phone. Cons: It works only when I have internet. If SMS comes when I am not online, it is lost in the air and I never receive them even when I come back to online.
I can send and receive from my second phone through a Remote Linked phone. Tried another app that did not work very well. This one works right out of the Box, five stars
With the turning off of the 2g networks in a number of countries including Australia, my dual SIM phone was about to become useless. Either I had to carry two phones or I would be forced to spend $300 plus on a new Dual SIM phone capable of 3g plus on the second SIM. This basic but functional and reliable little app makes it possible to leave a cheap android phone at home and keep my old faithful with me. Thank you for saving me money and my sanity!
Brilliant app and works well.. 4 stars because, if I could just switch (with a click) which phone sent and which phone received, it would have had 5 stars (I sometimes like to leave one phone behind and sometimes the other). Also wish I could upgrade. Otherwise works great.
Sms forwarding works very well and I can reply, although I also got stuck in a loop once. Very fast, in fact so fast that the missed call message arrives before the call is forward by the telco, so I know it's forwarded.
Super simple to use, very little if any Lag. The only thing i would want to change is the way messages are displayed and how you reply. Other than that this is a great app!!! Thank you! !!!!
Hi buddy, nice piece of work, thank you! There is, however, one detail which may be missing or I didn't spot: regarding the SMS sending through the linked device, why isn't it possible to send a message to any given number of my choice, but only replying to those already listed in the app? Thanks in advance!
Had to reinstall to get it to link. Once linked, I received a notice that text message was forwarded, but it does not appear on the recipient phone. Sending from Moto 1 to Nexus 5x, but does not work.
I am always happy when I find an app that works the way it says it does, sets up easily and doesn't intermittently stop working. The fact that it frees me from carrying two phones makes it dear to my heart. :)

Great app!!! I love this thing. I can leave my old phone at home and get all my text messages and missed calls. It even tells me when the battery is low on my connected phone. Two suggestions that would make this the perfect app: 1) being able to send a text message through the app and not just reply. 2) call forwarding. With those 2 added features it would definitely be an app worth paying for.
