JellyChip users have now bought more than 3,000 charity gifts for people across the world and changed over 3,000 real lives. More than 35,000 people have come together to make a difference in our app and that's an awesome start.
There are two very real problems in the world. The first is that social networks have lost their meaning. The most popular social networks today provide no real value to people. Sure, pictures of pretty guys or girls are nice (though not exactly realistic), the odd pair of baby socks and a graduation photo are gratifying, but for a lot of us the magic of connecting with friends has been lost. We were active on Facebook in 2007 and in 10 years, Facebook has gone from exciting platform to a generic money-grab.
It's the story today - social media is now just a place to scroll through old friends and repeating personas. These networks no longer benefit anyone - social media is irrelevant and dead as we know it.
The second problem is that the world is suffering through its largest humanitarian crisis since World War II. Due to the upheaval in Syria, Iraq, across the Middle East and the developing world, millions of migrants are without homes, millions of children live in extreme poverty and the disparity between the rich and the poor has grown increasingly wider. We're faced with something much larger than anything we can probably comprehend. In addition, world overpopulation has led to strained resources and damage to our environment (our seas, our land and our skies) that is virtually irreversible. We're polluting our environment at a rate much faster than 20 years ago, yet a global solution has evaded us.
Introducing JellyChip, a social app that was developed over 3 years to fill the gap between social networks and charity. JellyChip allows its users to buy charity gifts for free. Users can chat to their friends (earn 5 points), send a snap (earn 5 points), answer surveys (earn 20 points), play trivia (earn 2 points), watch ads (earn 20 points) and invite their friends (earn 100 points). They can then spend their points on buying a charity gift.
Each user can vote for the upcoming gift, however every user must combine their points in order to buy the current gift. When the gift is purchased, JellyChip will pay our charities for the charity gift, and together we've changed a life. Partnering with charities allows JellyChip to achieve what we cannot do alone. These charities directly distribute the gifts that our users earn on JellyChip for developmental and emergency relief projects across the globe. Our charities make a real difference on behalf of JellyChip and our users.
From a nutrition program in India, to text books in Pakistan, to providing a dog vaccination in the US, to helping women breastfeed in Zambia, to housing a refugee in Syria - JellyChip can fix the world. As we expand and grow, we hope to attract many charities to JellyChip with different causes and impacts to offer our users.
How do we pay for these gifts? JellyChip Surveys. Our survey platform was built precisely for this reason. Survey companies can ask JellyCitizens non-obtrusive questions and if a user answers a survey, this pays for the points they earn and spend during that day. If they don't answer any surveys but spend their points on buying a gift, we still pay for that gift. We hope to find balance with our points economy over time, but we have made a commitment to pay for each charity gift upfront. Even during our early days as an app.
The bottom line is that JellyChip users can be rest assured that by buying charity gifts with points, they are directly impacting the poorest and most marginalised communities on the planet. If a user spends their points and buys a gift on JellyChip, we pay for that gift in real life. It's a simple business model to impact a generation. It makes social networking more fun as well.

This is such a great app. Not only is there a social platform for chatting, sending pictures and connecting with friends, but the developer and staff team are constantly interacting with users on the public chat. They always take what we say to improve the app, and it's all actually COMPLETELY FREE. The charity portion of the app is extremely well organized, and makes it easy for us to donate to gifts we want, by allowing us to vote for the next gift. This app is for everyone and I recommend it to anyone considering downloading this app!

Beautifully made app, with a really cool cause behind it. The team behind it seem super onto it and interact with their users well through the app. Overall, it's a great way to make a tangible difference whilst procrastinating, interacting with friends, or learning something you didn't know before. They ask before serving ads (but, trust me, you're going to say yes). I'm looking forward to the community growing, the impact getting bigger, and the offering of trivia/surveys/ads becoming more diverse!

Who knew an charity app like this exist?! This is my favorite app and I'm so addicted to it. Watch ads and answer surveys grants points. You will also be supporting the app financially to buy gifts. With these points you can choose to spend on a gift of your choice. Jellychip helps donate gifts towards various countries especially the ones that are in dire need. So download this app if you want to make a difference!

I joined this app and like it so far! You get points for texting, sending snapchats, trivia, surveys, and watching ads. Then, your points can be used for a charity gift. I like the concept of working as a team to do microdonations for a good cause!

The app consistently lags and none of the updates seem to get rid of existing bugs. Half of the trivia questions are opinion answers, making it hard to guess the "correct" answer, and many more are riddled worth spelling and grammatical errors to the point where they're difficult to comprehend. A timer was recently added on gifts, making it impossible to complete larger goals in time. The social aspects of the app aren't new or innovative, and aren't even as good as their counterparts. You do earn minimal points for "snapping," which is a play on Snapchat, except the pictures don't disappear. Overall, each update takes away more of what I used to enjoy from this app. You'd be better off donating time and money to charities on your own.

I have used this app for a while now and I loved it but now it has stopped working and no matter what I do, I can not get it to even open before it crashes
