It's helpful so far, but I feel it's missing some key features to really compete with other free language apps, such as an indication of when you should review already learned characters. I also think it'd be helpful if the app would pronounce the character after you guess correctly, to really set in how to pronounce the word. While you do type the sound to answer, it still may sound different in your head than how it's really pronounced. This isn't a problem for everyone, so this app may still work for you. It has a good database of the characters and of the sounds.

On "ue" of Kanji words, the "wa" of the example sentence says "ha" when you click to listen to the voice..

To all who learn japanese the reading of japanese kanji is a whole new level of skill. I can speak japanese but reading practice was always very hard to find, per JLPT level, with kanji combo practice, And Within Full Sentence structure!, you learn the next level combo while answering your current level! This app gave me just what i needed to break the limit and practice Non Stop! Thank you!

I really Hope Yomikata Z will be accessible price-wise, because this simply changed my life and I'm really looking forward to that. I always had trouble learning japanese by myself because most apps were always either disorganized or wouldn't have the words applied in a sentence, but this one is great! N5 to N3 in just a few weeks.

One of the most difficult things I've encountered in trying to learn Japanese is finding a resource inclusive enough to allow steady progress without feeling too overwhelming. This app breaks down the different character sets (hira, kata, kanji) as well as vocabulary, providing written and audio examples for each one. You're allowed to preview each section before taking a quiz and it will even keep track of your mastery of the various categories. My only complaint would be the lack of kun and on readings.

Most important app for learning Japanese. Its library of kanji is so extensive. The sample sentences and accompanying audio are absolutely invaluable. I will be using this app for a long time.

only one consistent glitch in pronouncing "ha" as "wa" when it is the first letter of a word. other than that, it's the most fantastic Japanese learning app I didn't even know existed.

I have been studying for eight years and downloaded dozens of Japanese apps. This is one of the best no matter what level you are at. If you are studying for the jlpt this is great since it forces you to write out the hiragana of the kanji which is how you are judged on the exam.

Input occasionally doesn't recognize correct answers. E.g - refuses to see ふん as ふん nor さん as さん。Also occasionally insists し is sひ. Otherwise interesting tool.

I have been studying Japanese for a long time, Never have I ever tried to learn how to write. When I did, It was hard, luckily I found this app and it made studying Japanese easier.

when i do the quiz, all the writing are in the same color, there is none that have different color, so i don't know wich one i should pronounce in my answer.

The /i/ sound sounds weird (there's a whistle-like sound whenever I play it).

Great app but I'd like to be able to add certain kanji to a favorites category or something.

Feels great to try out my reading skills whenever I want.

Acctualy other apps not gives steps of Japanese language learning steps . But this app have learning steps ♡♥♡♥

Best app I downloaded. Exactly what I need to study readings. Additionally teaches kana, kanji, counter, and vocab. Perfect.

Nothing to complain about so far. Simple and funcional, the best in its category. Kanji quizzes don't show furigana, but I got used to this configuration, and I might actually prefer it to the alternative. Bonus: totally free of advertisements and any charge.

Some of the pronunciation is not correct .

Basically, this app has a lot of kanji vocab divided by JLPT level. You can browse manageable lists with example sentences for a particular reading, and then take quizzes to test your knowledge of the list. Very no frills and self driven--but a lot of utility so far. I'm really impressed by the amount of words covered--now all the way through N1! I would definitely recommend.

Nice update! Now that I can use my usual keyboard, I don't mistype nearly as much words as before :D! And the option to mark a word as known when entering a blank answer is great too! Thank you for the update ^^

I know alot of the kanji so I use it as a reading practice

Love this app, works similar to the ReadTheKanji service but doesn't provide as many stats. Crashes frequently when starting a recent quiz (presumably after app has been running for a while in the background)

This is so far the best language and kanji writing app i had tried. Hope that it stays the same or if it will be updating, i hope that it won't become a problem. I also recommended this app to my friends and they loved it..

Only problem do far is that at quizzes, I sometimes press enter by mistake and it gets that my answer is "no answer". It's frustrating... A popup needing me to confirm my wanting to skip this question (because I don't know the answer) would be great!
