FloatIRC Beta - Floating Chat for Android
Cannot join channels and no transparency.
Dead project
I either cannot join channels or this doesn't show them. Its a nice app but as it doesn't seem to work its a bit useless hopefully it gets fixed soon :)
Just needs an ad free version and a transparency option (like Ninja sms! :D) others great app. P.s. me thinks once its all squared away.. some users might want themes.. not me, I just want transparency..but some might
Cool concept, its not fully polished but its fast and i see potential. Features are great.
I put the server info in, same info works in AndChat, but even after connecting I can't join any channels and I ping out soon after.
Can't connect to any of my IRC bouncers as there is no option to accept an SSL connection
This IRC client works remarkably well, and is the best IRC client out right now for Android. It has a few bugs and glitches, but that is to be expected for a beta.
This is almost like a full fledged desktop IRC client, and beats the competition. I'm surprised that this is listed as a beta because it's perfect, even though it's in its early stages. In my opinion, this is the best mobile IRC client right now. Minimalistic, easy on the eye - and most of all, simple to use. 5 stars!
Initial release is better than most irc apps I've ever used on mobile devices, and things are only gonna get better from here with this developer.
A very special app, it may be in early days, but a real one to watch.
I must say, I'm astonished at the rate in which this application has been developed. Only days ago, Jdbye had been talking about the lack of any floating IRC clients for Android, and since then he has built it up from scratch to it's current state. For a beta, it's as fully featured as anyone could ask for, indeed it certainly exceeds the quality of nearly every mobile IRC client I've ever used. However, I digress. Simply put, it's a windowed IRC client for Android. One that can be run on top of (in parallel) to other applications. Needless to say this is a godsend for tablet users, who previously were forced to run painfully stretched (and yet still somehow cramped!) clients full-screen. All basic IRC tasks are achieved, it can connect to multiple servers and join a multitude of channels on each. Every aspect of your IRC 'identity' is configurable, et cetera. Rather surprisingly, it also includes complete colour support - something of a rarity on mobile platforms. Overall I cannot restate the sheer amount of flexibility and convenience that this application affords the end-user. Definitely recommended for usage, and knowing Jdbye's track record, it can only get better. - Alex
I need SSL support. App looks nice.
Or coffee.... Or anything.
Pressing "UP" doesn't go to what was previously sent!
With some error about 127.0.0.1.
Would gladly pay to get rid of the ads.
This is easily the most fully featured and intuitive IRC app available on android. I would love to see a full screen option though.
Great client with many features. I've recently changed to using this client and find it to be much easier to use than others.
The client seems to 'connect' to freenode, but just stays there after 3 lines of status. Usually, I'd get further and would be able to join a channel, but it doesn't get there. At least in this version.
Won't even open
Breaks with bouncers, FC on Nexus 7
