About japanese clothing

History Fashion Harajuku Style in Japan
Prior to the Edo period, Harajuku was one of the lodging towns (juku) for people traveling through the Kamakura Main Road route. Tokugawa Ieyasu granted Harajuku control to the ninja of Iga Province who helped him escape from Sakai after the Honnōji Incident.
In Edo period, the ninja group from Iga established a base in Harajuku to protect the city of Edo because of its strategic location on the southern part of Main Street Kōshū. In addition to the ninja, the Bakushin class samurai also chose to reside in Harajuku. In the Meiji period, Harajuku was built as an important area connecting the city of Tokyo with its surroundings
After that, Omotesando (main road to the temple) was built in 1919 after the Meiji Shrine was founded. After the opening of various department stores in the 1970s, Harajuku became a fashion center. This area became famous throughout Japan after the cover of fashion magazines such as Anan and non-no.
At that time, a group of girls called Annon-zoku were often found walking in the Harajuku area. Their fashion style mimics the clothing worn by Anan and non-no magazine models. Around the 1980s, Takeshita Street became crowded because people wanted to see Takenoko-zoku who was dressed up and dancing on the streets.
