JA Sensei Learn Japanese Kanji

THE AUDIO IN QUIZZES does not automatically play sometimes! And sometimes stops! Please fix this. And not all kanji have word examples! Please put at least one or two. And please, I wish there is an option to put gridlines in drawing quizzes. And please make the "Play Audio" button bigger in the vocabulary list so it is easier to press. Thank you! :)

It's very good, I just hope the creator will keep adding new things to this. Anyone who is reading this should definitely go get the paid version as well. Though the free version isn't bad either. But if anything I think he/she should add sentence structures to this as well.

The author has fixed every minor issue I've raised about the app, and it is now flawless. If you want to improve your Japanese, get JA Sensei as well as the companion JA Audiobook. You won't regret it. They are well worth it.

Nothing to add - one of the best applications I ever saw to learn a language. It is definitely worthy to pay for the full version...

Really great resource and jam packed with important stuff but it can be sort of overwhelming. It has all these great tools but I wish there was more of a concrete way to see my progress kind of like on memrise?

This has got to be the best, easiest and cheapest way to learn Japanese. I think it's absolutely amazing the premium isn't a subscription, but a pay once deal. Some bugs (like hiragana ri being recognised as katakana ri for some reason), but all in all very efficient in giving you not only grammatical lessons but also cultural information. Easily worth the 11€ or so asked!

It's a "super-app"! I'm learning japanese (in french) mostly with it for more than a year now and my japanese friends are impressed with my progress everytime we meet! They often say i'm better than the university students in japanese courses. I find the ranking system very motivating! Yes there are some bugs, but it leaves you with the feeling that there's always someone working on it :).

*Disclaimer: This will be a long review, so bear with me* I'm​ a working student studying to become a freelance translator in the Japanese-English pair, and this is my number one resource for all constituents of the Japanese language: Vocabulary, Kana, Kanji, Grammar, Particles, and Counters. As a student of the language in college, the progressive lessons aren't necessary for me, and I have better options available to me, but they are actually very well structured, and they will direct your studies to an effectual path without building bad habits or providing incorrect information, so if you are just starting out, or don't have the means to study in a classroom, these lessons are a great option. The other modules however, are phenomenal resources for any student of the language at any level, the kanji module has a step-by-step illustration of the stroke order, on-yomi and kun-yomi, meanings, furigana, JLPT and Jouyou levels, and example words utilizing the kanji for every single kanji in the database. The list functionality in the kanji module particularly facilitates my acquisition of the writing system by allowing me to easily organize the kanji I have learned and am learning. This is important given the fact that there are over 50,000 kanji in the Japanese language. Having a resource that provides detailed explanations of every kanji, organization, and guidance in regards to which kanji are most used is invaluable to the serious learner. The adjectives and verbs modules are also invaluable, as they provide the conjugations, furigana, and kanji used for every adjective and verb in the app's dictionary. The grammar module is also indispensable. It gives a detailed explanation of the various formulaic structures used to create meaning in Japanese sentences. The particle module is the same. In summary, this app does not have every piece of information about the Japanese language, so you will have to look elsewhere from time to time, but for a single cellphone app, this is the most amazing resource a student could ask for. It costs​ a bit of money to unlock all content, and the price is high for a cellphone application, but you definitely get what you pay for, and in the end, you're helping to keep a resource that helps many students bridge the gaps between cultures, societies, and individuals up and running, and there's nothing more valuable than that.

Wonderful! I can't believe how much you have access to for free, this app is the only thing I've needed for me to completely learn katakana and hiragana. I love that it has audio tracks to listen to and even offers lessons and helpful articles. I love this app!

Fantastic app! Highly recommend the paid version, I've been using it for years and it's a great resource for quickly refreshing a grammar point or reviewing the conjugation of a verb!

So disappointed! I bought this app but I found out right after it doesn't worth my money. English voice in Travel phrases is awful. Very poor vocabulary. Not enough audio for learners.
