Slumber for Android Wear

Installed it, opened the app on my Moto 360 once and saw check mark. Placed it on the charger and screen immediately went dark. Perfect! I didn't really see any need to light up the screen with the clock and charge level, especially if there was a chance of screen burn in. It's not an alarm clock after all. I use the Gentle Alarm app on my Moto X and use it for my alarm clock on my nightstand and it has a night display setting with anti burn in setting.

This app stopped working after my 2nd Gen Moto 360 updated to Marshmallow. It's been a while now so I hope a fix is coming soon. Love this app so will update to 5 stars when working again.

My moto 360 2nd gen doesn't charge when off & theatre mode doesn't work whilst charging - as I like a completely dark room this is fab for going to sleep, but it does come on (to a greyed out lit screen) during the night.

Blanks the screen while charging. However after a few minutes the screen lights up and stays on, although it is dim it's enough of a desecration in a dark room. There is nothing on the screen its more of a dim back light. Yes I have the tick shown. Any advise?

Check mark is always enabled, but it never works the first time. I always have to take the watch off the charger and put it back on for it to work. Please fix and you'll earn 5 stars.

Set up the app just as described. Set my watch on the charging pad, and success! Black screen. Looked back five minutes later and the charging screen was on. Using a Moto 360.

Great simple idea, pity it only works once. First time I installed it worked as stated. Next 3 days tried everything to activate when put on charger, then uninstalled and reinstalled, appeared to work first night but backlight was back on again by next morning

I did rate this 2 stars originally because it was a pain to get working. Now for some reason (update I never noticed?) it works first time. It does everything its supposed to. Great app!

But it definitely doesn't work. I've tried rebooting my 360 after installing, and toggling the on/off several times but the display never fully turns off. Was this app developed on W1 or W2? My 360 is on W2.

All this is, is an on/off button you access on your moto360. But neither the on nor the off button dims my screen when it's on the charger. If I could give this zero stars, I would. Worse than useless.

At first I was unable to get it to work even after following the instructions and trying things others had posted. Finally I opened the app on the phone again. Swiped to close it after making sure it was checked and now it works!

This does exactly what it says it does and the activation is as straight forward as it gets - an 'x' is off, a check is on. However, the setup/activation doesn't necessarily work on the first try, or, in my case with the 360, even on the third try. I had to uninstall, re-install and open the application several times before the functionality activated. It's not a huge issue, but I had just about given up before it finally worked.

- Install the Slumber app. - Open the app from the watch. Should be fine if you open the app using any launchers too. - Make sure a tick is seen, this indicates the screen will go blank. - You can close the app or leave it open, doesn't matter. - Put it on the charging dock. Screen will go blank. Note - Even if you touch the screen slightly while it is docked it will display the info. If you leave it on dock after any screen touch watch will not go blank. Sometimes the first time you place on dock it will not go blank. You will have to undock and redock till the watch goes blank. Usually will happen on the second try for sure.

The app has crashed or caused others to crash at random times. That being said, I'll deal with that over having the watch beam my face when I'm trying to sleep. Plus it prevents the image burn others have reported. Thanks for taking the time to code a useful feature that should've been included. Motorola should be paying you IMO!

This worked on my moto 360 before. I got a new phone and now it does nothing. Pls fix as it was great before. HTC m8 and moto 360

I don't know why someone is complaining... It works. Considering the screen issue of moto360, this is a very useful app imo.

I've only scored this app one star as it turns the screen dark but not off. So in a darkened bedroom the watch is still lighting the room. It would be better if it just turn the screen off completely.

This is a feature which should be part of Android Wear, not a separate app. I was thrilled when I saw this. My only gripe is that the screen is not completely black when charging, there is still a slight glow. If it could be completely black I would give 5 stars.

Works as advertised, but it still emits a little bit of light, putting the watch in theater mode works just as well without having to install this app since theater mode is built-in........ uninstalling.

Just remember to launch it again each time you boot your device

Was working fine ..now it's like I don't even have it (moto 360)

I love my new moto 360. I had been worried about getting burn in on it. I came across this app and decided to try it. I love it. The screen stays black until removed from the charger. No more worries!

Ok so, start the app, enable it so it shows X on the watch. Then click the X so it shows a ✔ when there is a ✔ in the app thethe screen actually is off during charging. The dev had the button backwards I think. Yeah you do have to open it to get it going after initial install, but follow what I did and it actually works! Thanks dev!

Easy app to use, didn't work properly at first as screen would come on part way through charging. Restarting the watch fixed the problem

This is no longer needed, just use theater mode on your watch. It turns the display off rather than blacking the screen lime this app does (it doesn't actually turn the display off).

I gave up using this app when it was a 50/50 chance of having the screen off while charging. Then I found out (by mistake) that if I turn on "theater mode" and then put it on the dock the screen would go blank, then off and still charge. No need for the app now.

A necessary and wonderful app. I agree that it should come standard. I downloaded it the day I got my new Moto360 & have used it everynight without fail for a month. Tonight it didn't go into slumber mode automatically, nor the 2nd or 3rd try...I read hints below & found that toggling from X to check several times may have helped or possibly that the watch MUST be lit when placed on the cradle...regardless, its back to perfect slumber now:)

Since the new Moto 360 update, setting the watch to ambient then off again no longer turns the screen off when charging. This works perfectly, and I don't have to mess around with settings every night.

Glad I put it on my Moto 360. Easy to install and easy to use. Open it one time and it simply works. I would suggest to the low star reviewers they learn how to operate it before reviewing.

Turn on Theatre Mode before setting your watch on the charger and the screen goes black. Problem solved, app uninstalled.
