SilentCam Switch

On Nexus 6P Android 6.0.1 this app disables sounds and notifications by temporarily enabling Do Not Disturb mode upon launching the camera app. The app then disables Do Not Disturb when you exit the camera app. It has always worked when launching the camera app, however, it sometimes bugs out and fails to disable Do Not Disturb upon exit. No big deal though, you just have to disable Do Not Disturb manually from the quick settings menu then. This happens maybe 5% of the time but otherwise works great.

Thia app could be perfect if it really works. But sometimes it silence shutters, and most time it does not. I don't understand under which conditions does it works. And I really want to shut down that shutter sound.

This app was working fine once enabled. . Now I have to launch it each time and enable it before it silences the shutter. . Annoying

Using s6 efge plus: I find I have to go in every few hours to toggle it on and off again, because the camera noise came back

The camera sound is annoying and it makes you more suspicious sometimes trying to hide the sound. But this app should inform I that we need to review to continue using! Great idea

This used to work, but it no longer works. And it's been months and they haven't fixed the problem, so I uninstalled it

Huge EULA and the app doesn't even silence the camera shutter sound. Complete crap. Uninstalled.

Fix the reboot issue and I'll give it five stars. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6.

After about 10 min. of enabling, the shutter sound comes back. I have to disable then enable again. Hopefully issue is resolved in an update.

Worked great for first couple weeks. Now almost never works. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still only works first few pictures. After that, shutter sound is back. Worthless!!

This app does exactly what it claims to, but not on all my devices. Fixing it so it works on Galaxy S3 would earn 5 star rating from me. It is very simple (just one clink) and doesn't require many permissions. Best of all, it works with native Samsung camera app!

It does nothing but steal data. Good job.

Works well most of the time, but seems to randomly fail to re-initiate sounds on the galaxy s6 which has caused me to miss a few notifications and calls.

It became unreliable so I have to open the app every time I want to quietly take a picture.

Most of the time it's fine... then all of a sudden, it doesn't work at all. Have to continually check ti see if it is still on

Is there a way you could add the ability to have the app auto start in the background? And is there a way to keep it running so s6 doesn't auto close it? And would be great if it checked if the camera app was in foreground and unmute when it's minimized. Thanks!

It did not work on my samsung s6. Useless app, turned on dont disturb mode and still did not work :/

This app is supposed to mute the shutter on phones where the bullshit carrier disabled muting it. Of course it doesn't! It only works on phones where you already have the option to mute the shutter yourself - so what's the point?

It worked but just by muting system sounds when the camera is open which I can do myself. However as this app wants usage data access, which I deem a devious attempt to get personal data from me.

It stops working after a reboot and would only work again if I manually open the app to start/stop.

Galaxy s6 user. Have to turn off and then back on in order to work.

Why you need no how often I use all my other apps this has nothing to do with this app. Programmers that want to spy and no everything about person life should be banned even uploading there spyware apps.

The shutter is muted most of the time. Then, on another instance the shutter speed is there again. Sometimes, the phone is muting my phone even after exiting the camera app.

Works fine when on, but after having phone on silent all day and turning it back to loud the shutter sound comes back on. Have to keep going into app and often forget...

App only sometimes works with the Galaxy s6. I've noticed it won't silence the shutter after opening the camera directly from standby using the quick launch. If the phone is already on, it's hit or miss if it works.

apparently, it seems to mute my phone which i could do myself. after i take a shot and i go to review it, there's a double beep tone that's pretty annoying. it's actually easier to just mute my phone before using the camera if i need to be inconspicuous. i expected an option within the camera settings to turn camera shutter off just as some of the other S6/Es have the option to do.

The app works as promised. However, what makes me disappointed is the sense of privacy breach. Why does this app need so many permissions to other apps I use?

Decent app. Works like it should. Sometimes it defaults off though so only giving it 4 stars.

Update *** after ota firmware update on note 5 this app no longer works.*** Works well to silent the camera and all notifications on launch of the camera app. But once the camera app is closed it only re-enables the volume back maybe 30% of the time. Would be great to get this fixed then it would be 5 stars.

One touch and the ridiculous, loud shutter noise is gone from my Galaxy Tab 3. Thanks.

Love it. No frills No fuss 100% effective on Samsung A7.

As for the privacy bit if you own a mobile phone you aint got none so get over it or go back to smoke signals

App just works for a while after enabled it and then it stops working itself on my GS6 5.1.1. Please fix and improve it.
