Guitar Lessons from JamPlay for Android
Been using for a few days. I really like the lessons. Ive been playing for almost 2 decades and there are many things im learning even now from the instructors on this site. My favorite feature though is the vast selection of song lessons. They break the songs down by every section with video...instruction and tips...tablature and backing track. Really enjoying my membership. The only reason it didny get a 5 is bcos the actual app itself isnt very functional all the time...sometimes itll upload the wrong page or freeze...sometimes briefly...sometimes longer...other than that...great stuff!
I love jamplay service. Started learning the guitar one year ago, and it's been great, but the app is much worse than just using the website
When I first got the app I experienced trouble with video loading and app crashing, I was going to delete it app but, decided to call JAMPLAY. I was instructed by the representative to remove/reinstall the program. It seemed to do the trick. The app can not compare to the web browser but, still a grate tool when on the go. Thank you Jam Play for backing your products with a human vs a program which has you pressing numbers and chasing the rabbit down a hole.
The service is great, but the app is awful. Almost unusable, as often videos just restart on their own multiple times to the point of frustration. Use the web instead.
I have an Google chrome cast and would really love it if I could cast my current video/lesson to my television so I don't have to keep looking at a small screen on my phone for eveything
This app is pretty terrible. Difficult to navigate at times and just plan old doesn't work at others.
No matter your playing level, you will improve. Tons of great stuff.
Jamplay is a great resource and works great when used in browser but, unfortunately, all the components aren't there in the mobile app. That said, it's good for on the go. I'm hoping they will roll out updates to address this in the near future.
free version is pointless, no lessons just a lot of talking, there are much better APs and services out there that are free.
Jam play is really good, but the app is mediocre at best. There are a lot of bugs, it does not track your progress in lessons, and does not sync with other devices or the website.
Great little app for on the go or sitting home practicing. Lots of great features and video demos. Love it.
i am a beginner with the guitar and this app has been very helpful i love it
No video on my android phone! Update: still no video. I'm a paying member. Not for long.
Videos continuously lag, pause and stop...
Best variety of teachers and lessons that I've heard!
Will probably turn to 5 later. Love what I see and what I'm learning

Not sure why 1 star ..i have Android S5 and the jamplay App works great.. for on the road.. lessons and practice.. doesn't have all the bells and whistles like the browser based site.. but this is an app.. it has the lessons..the supplimental material.. it works excellent. I just started using it. About a month ago..no problems really makes learning a lot more accessible. I figured they must have updated it..since I cannot find any problems.
Paying for your monthly service isn't cheap. Although you maybe sitting pretty with everyone's monthly payments, apparently you fail to pay your developers to update your application. This app crashes and renders itself completely useless. I know it may work for some but considering your one of the most reputable company's doing this service that should be one good reason to make sure you're providing them with good service. It's about time you stop neglecting the people keeping your business going.
Marty Schwartz is a master, giving clear angle views, outstanding explanations, and a voice of patience, reassurance, and credibility. It was natural for him to find guitar gurus extending those qualities across all widely varying genres, albeit fascinating and gifted, then structure it in an elegant, logical, and ultimately browsable online dashboard presence with real power. Whatever I want to learn, there is a selection of uniquely expert instructors in that style with a lesson at my level.
I just got it, looked at many reviews and almost didn't get the app because of all the complaints but either they fixed them or the others are just being sensitive douches. I'm using it on a Note 5, no crashes, no lag, it's the way it should be. The only improvement I would like to have is the same video options the desktop version has like the looper. Jamplay is best experienced with a computer anyways. On the go, the app is better than I expected, and very manageable if it's your only device.
As any beginning guitar lesson program should be, it is not intimidating, it follows a logical and progressive path to learning the guitar and following the syllabus. As of now since I've just started the program I'll rate it a 4. I no doubt I will rate it a 5 before to long.
I think it works well. My main complaint is it doesn't sync with the desktop account. It only shows history within the app and when I watch something on the app it shows as not viewed on my desktop account.
I have learned so much! Now that I can play in different keys, the Jam Tracks are perfect!
Really helpful app makes learning fun, thanx
I'm able to access my chosen lessons with ease.
The video will not play on Android tablet! Jamplay Support recommends not using app, but use browser based access. Need to re-set password? No help from Jamplay. The email never shows up. It is supposed to be great! Not so great if you can't access the app or reset your password. Android access????? Nope!
Im a paid up subscriber.. I downloaded the app.. First message on the screen told me to cancel my subscription and rejoin as a member.. Why? I still receive marketing emails asking me to subscribe..Why? Occasionally the emails contain an interesting promotion. Such as a new course on pentatonic scales... But it's difficult to find because there is no "search" in the app. So navigation is difficult. The app Is extremely slow and badly designed. Shame because the content is great.
So I have been using Jamplay for years. It works great on almost every platform EXCEPT Android. It crashes constantly and I can very seldom get through a lesson without a "not responding" pop-up. I recommend passing on this app and using another device to access the lessons.
So far like it a lot
The lessons you need to pay for are quite good
Won't play a single video

I'm a beginning self taught guitarist. With so many options out there to choose from its easy to become overwhelmed. Jam Play has given me a one stop source for my practice sessions. I'm learning more than i ever hoped before with their thorough and concise lessons. Thank you Jam Play for your cutting edge format. I recommend you highly to all my friends.
