Michigan Radio App V4

When I moved from A2 to AL, first thing I noticed (in the moing truck) was the local NPR station played more music than talk segments. That's not the NPR I grew up with! If I want music, I'll listen to a different station. I avoid the local station by listening to NPR on XM in the car and this app at home. So thankful it lets me feel "close to home". Jack Lessenberry's voice has never been so comforting! App itself has improved many times over the past couple years. Works great on my phone/WiFi set up.

Shame on you for tracking all the app programs I have on my phone. How does knowing what apps including my bank apps I have or how often I use them is helpful to public radio? It took nortons to report your intensions to me. So you got my data. I'm removing the program and removing my current and any future pledges.

I downloaded the app after more than 2 years from my last try with the hope that this version actually works. Nope, broken dreams. All I could hear is the sponsor info and it stopped playing... over and over again. I won't be wasting my time on this crap app ever again.

I listen to a lot of talk and have gotten frustrated with the app so many times in the past. V4 is working great so far Good job Michigan Radio on the improvements!

Love this app, use it all the time, but now it crashes every 5 minutes, right in the middle of a good story, very frustrating. Please update.

Like many others, I find the streaming performance to be just awful. The app crashes very frequently and the stream stops for what seems like no reason at all. The fact that this is just a wrapper around the website is likely the cause of many of these problems so I'd urge Michigan Radio to reconsider their approach and to commit to a proper app.

App would stop after 1 minute every time. I closed all other applications and cleared ram but the issue still persists. This app is completely useless.

Randomly stops, takes forever to start stream, and there is no way to exit the app. Keeps popping back up as an active app, even after 24 hours. Needs some work.

Issue #1 most of the 2-3 attempts neccesary to get it to actually play. Issue #2 randomly stops sometime after 30 second sometimes after 2 hours. Just generally unstable, it's a pity as I love NPR and Michigan Radio but this app needs work.

The app is just the website's objects wrapped in a skin that doesn't provide anything the website doesn't. The stream is horribly incapable of keeping a connection. The station should consider hiring somebody to build a proper app for them instead of trying to short-cut their ways there themselves.

Have to keep phone on and on the app screen until stream starts, which takes something like forever. Randomly stops. And always plays the inane preroll.....which combined with the restarts gets reallllllyy old. Ditch the preroll, whether I am on your app or on your Web page....I already know who I am [still not yet getting to] listen to.

This App starts every time but your chance of actually listening to the steam seems to be about 1 in 3 attempts. I just give after a few tries and listen to another Public Radio feed.

The only reason to have this app for me is to listen to this streaming. The streaming doesn't work. I hear the commercial a lot but I almost never hear the program

Plays for about 5 minutes then the app closes. Even after the recent update. Getting fed up.

Nothing irritates me more than not being able to listen to MI Radio and NPR in the mornings. This app is garbage. If you can even get it to play past the commercial intro, it stops streaming a few minutes later.

The only thing I'd want from an app is streaming, and it does a lousy job. Steam stops, skips, and restarts often. You can't jump between apps without it skipping like mad.

I love listening to MichRadio. But you need to seriously fix these problems that everyone is is continuously reporting. The app has to be on the screen in order for the stream to start, which even takes at least 60 seconds to happen. And then after a several minutes it randomly stops and we have to start the whole process again. If you want to keep you listener base and continue public support. You need to fix your mobile app so that we can listen whenever we want.

It would be helpful to have an exit option. I always have to close the app multiple times before it truly stops playing the live stream. I Love MI Radio!!!!!!

The app was unusable for so long, this new version is flawless :)

The Michigan radio hosts have been advertising this update for a while and saying it has improved streaming. The streaming use to cut out in the middle of broadcast from time to time but now I'm lucky if it starts at all after the station announcement and underwriting ad.

The app crashes very frequently, sometimes after only 10 seconds of listening. Very frustrating! Galaxy S5.

The previous version fixed the problem of constant crashes. The problem is back, the app drops the signal every 5 minutes or so.

Doesn't work anymore. After buffering it plays in fast forward mode then rebuffers. NPR chipmunks :( tried removing and reinstalling, no luck.

I thought new updates were supposed to make apps function better. This has gotten progressively worse since it started :-(

Is there a second step other than pressing the "play" icon in order to get content to stream? I'm on my home wifi, so it's not as though I'm going in & out of service. I'm sure that it would be nothing to get a student as an intern from UM Computer Science who can help you with this in a few key strokes....

I used to use this app every single day, now the stream no longer works and I'm not sure why they have not updated the app to connect it to the new stream. I would love to continue using this app but it no longer actually provides any service except for downloaded podcasts

Sadly I am having to re-rate this app as I've now had to delete it altogether. I have not been able to make it past the buffering symbol or heard more than the support info since last week. I am so sad that I don't get to listen to my NPR while I'm working anymore. Hope the bugs are fixed soon......goodbye for now. :(

Sure, there are issues when you have streaming running and leave WiFi and go to 3g/4g, but what app doesn't have the same issue? (Fix-turn off wifi seeking) I love NPR, LOVE MI NPR (except State of Opportunity and Stateside-too boring and too left leaning, i dont feel it is fair nor balanced; no offense, I appreciate MI centric stories) and this allows me to keep listening whenever I get out of my car so I don't miss the awesome stories and important news. Keep up the good work!

Whenever it drops out for whatever reason, when it comes back it plays the annoying intro each time and you miss a good chunk of whatever you are listening to.

This app is constantly crashing. It frequently crashes right after the 10-second promotional message, just before streaming the program. Sometimes it crashes even before the promotional message is finished. I am no longer using this on my droid phone.

Galaxy S5 - I used to love this app but something happened in the past week and it no longer streams. Everytime I change my rating it's because this app gets worse.

Same issue as many others. Most recent update broke the streaming. I loved it before and used it frequently.

The newly launched app would work for a couple of weeks and then it would crash after streaming for about 30 seconds... This is an on going issue with THREE different versions of the app on the same Samsung device.. No issues with a Motorola phone or MacBook. Samsung is probably the most popular Android phones out there, and how can this app not work with Samsung phones? I'd love to listen to my Michigan Radio but this app isn't helping at all....

Can't get past buffering. It worked fine before my latest software update. That's probably the problem.
