Home Security Camera - Alfred for Android
Well...maybe i already observed Alfred for over 1 month of using it, and i just wanna say that everything with Alfred is perfect except for one thing i hope this will be helpful for the next update please.... My only problem is the video clips, sometimes it's all plain black my screen. It takes a long time to load the clips and wasting time guys. Most of the time i can't view my video clips, even if my wife is really in good connection. Guys can you fix this on your next update please please please! Really appreciate your effort, many thanks to you all!
I get a notification of movement and hit watch live. Won't load live feed so I close app and reopen it. Wait on home screen after 2nd reload and it says camera is not connected so I check playback. Got 5 secs of recording of person walking out of sore and off screen. I've had 5 sec clips back to back even tho person stays in visual contact with camera. I don't believe it records 30 sec clips. This person was moving the whole time. Also, if you watch live feed now it kicks you out every 4 or 5 mins, never used to do that? ??
I don't like. These buttons on screen are so big! And didn't work on older Android version :( I can't view something on computer. All the time is message that previous sesson wasn't properly closed. Web of cam was better.
Fantastic app. If you have old phones laying around, use them. Easy to set up. Awesome motion detection that turns off when you get home and back on when you leave. Also, it's very fun to mess with my dog with the chat feature.
This app is amazing! I was looking to buy a $50 dollar home security camera for the house, you know the ones that pan and tilt and have night vision? Well a thought popped into my head to look for an app, that's when I found Alfred! I hooked up my note 4 into the living room and it's perfect! Works better than I thought! Thanks for a great app! ***Update*** (05/26/17) After using this app for a few months now the batteries on my note 4 and S6 are swelling. Beware extended use of this app while keeping the phone plugged up to your charger could cause damage to your battery and even cause your battery to explode! Use at your own risk!
***Update: I'm about ready to just drop the paid version. Honestly I'm surprised I haven't done it already. First off, if you use T-Mobile and have an iPhone, the app will NOT WORK AT ALL OVER THE CELLULAR NETWORK. And now there's that "Alfred updates" or whatever section at the bottom of the screen that you can't get rid of! Nice suggestions there but I don't want to see them! They're as intrusive as the ads I pay NOT to have! I'm just almost absolutely completely fed up!!!*** A cool add-on would be to have the option for a widget to turn on or off notifications.
Good App, but there are issues. If something pops up on one of the Camera phones it will stop the viewing from that phone. Great concept but needs continued effort to be a great app..
I kept an eye on this app for a few years so I decided to try it instead of manually setting up a home networking security system but so far I can't keep a live stream without freezing regardless of the networks. Does this app only connect to cameras when the admin camera is on the same WiFi or is it usable on Data, outside the home? So far, the only thing I see works is all the ads and begging to provide 5 star review which I will if there really is any assistance. As I'll upgrade for sure!! Thanks!!
I first installed Alfred a couple of years ago when it was first released and was very happy with it. The biggest issue I have is that they have taken away the high resolution views and now wat an exorbitant amout of money per month to get it back. I can put up wth the ads but the app is useless as a security cam if you can't make out who is in the photo. For a free app it is good for general surveillance. If you are thinking about the $4.99/month upgrade, think about the available hidef cams with Internet access that are available with no monthly cost.
It's one of the most easiest to setup and it utilizes my old phones. Better to recycle than to waste it's one of the easiest programs I've used to set up some sort of a security system in my home
One of the best security cam app for phones out there. This save me the hassle of buying an expensive security cam. Get an extra phone and wifi connection and you're good to go!
I trusted Alfred for over one month now if i am not mistaken, well to be honest with you guys, i tried other apps similar with Alfred. But i think i will stick to Alfred from now on, because everything with Alfred is perfect. Except for one thing about video clips. It's hard for me to view, it takes a lot of my time. Well there is a photo and it shows 5sec. But when i view it only voices and blank screen. It happens all the time. I hope you can fix this problem guys. And there is one more thing i almost forget i used to watch it live while doing home chores and most of the time it made me sick about the ads that always pop-up. Haha! Well i know, i did not buy the pro yet so that is OK! By the way i hope my problem on video clips will be fixed soon. And all of you guys nice work, really amazing app. And a big thanks! Alfred is the best!
Having a couple of connection issues, but seems good when it works. A separate option just to remove ads would be good, rather than having to get the HD also
I love Alfred BUT your cam, mic and flashlight can be turned on remotely if you let anyone have access to your Google account like a husband etc so be careful.
Great app, allows me to use old phones to watch my home, no plans/cost involved. Sends movement alerts with video image, perfect
Says I need to sign in with a Google account but then notification comes up telling me this app does not support Google account login. Annoying
Okay, woah, 4.99 a year fine. But $4.99 a month?!!! Are you nuts? No, totally requesting a refund. This is ridiculous.
Omgsh this is like the most amazing app ever still getting used to how to use it. Maybe my wifi fault I cant stop smiling!!!! I can even talk to my kids!!❤❤❤❤❤
This is absolutely fantastic. Not only can I setup a security system with my old phones for my house when I'm not home or when babysitters are there. I can also check on my kids while they play on them because they use them to watch YouTube videos and play games. The motion detection is awesome for security as well as the Night Vision. I love that I can switch the flashlight on off, switch between front and rear camera, change any and all settings from motion to quality to whatever from my main phone at anytime. As an added bonus you can activate the microphone on your phone and speak through the camera phone! I would recommend this app for everyone from Parents wanting to check up on their children, suspicious significant others, or even just just home or business owners. Absolutely fantastic idea. I thought of this year's ago but I'm not a developer. Should of found one! Awesome job guys.
Motion on/off doesn't work when returning home. It prompts (sometimes) to turn off but then stays on. Then I open the app and manually turn it off and it still stays on period I have to repeat this several times before it stays off. With this being somewhat of a necessary feature for real functionality, it is a real problem that it doesn't work right. On two devices now Kyocera and Samsung same problem.
Excellent love it but need to be able to watch all cameras on the app live not just the computer site other than that great idea thank u
UPDATE 2: Turns out that turning off auto focus on the camera did not help the false sensing, afterall. : ( UPDATED after 6 monhs of use: I still use it but even on the lowest sensitivity setting with no wind or animals I am constantly receiving false motion alerts from both cameras. Also, I am still confounded by the high cost of the HD upgrade! True high-powered wireless security cameras, with true infared night vision, are in the $50-$100 range now. (I found Wansview cameras to be a good value but stay clear of Amcrest and Fosgate.) I am happy to support and pay for good apps. But, Alfred is saying pay us $50 every year or $0, your choice. I think they have cut-off their own nose to spite their face by the fact that someone can't just purchased the app for $5 or even $10 and get the good quality. I know I would! They have cut out everybody who wants to do that. -------- However, I always like to purchase apps that I like in order to support the author's efforts. But, in this case, $4 every single month is way too much, in my opinion. Perhaps a 50% discount for those willing to commit to a year at a time represents a value.
Very thankful to the owners. Thumps up
I've never had an issue with it, even if I haven't used it for ages, the phones still know who's who and work fine
I love it. I can now leave home and not be worried that some one might break in.
The only reason I've give 3 stars out of 5 is I'm unable to delete data I don't need. Long hold is according to instructions the way to delete...but alast it does not. This is the second time I've posted this and I was told to try it again but it still is not working.
I'm having trouble trying to see the pictures because of ads popping up all over the place and after 2 hours of use I can suddenly only see them upside down, the picture I mean, not the adverts, if you want people to pay you for removing adverts you are going to have to do a lot better than this
It would be alot better it works i pay the 3.99 but I have to go into app check 1 camera exit go back in and check another camera ETC If i check more then 2 at a time it kicks my wifi off and i have to restart phone but it does what i need it to
You are told to delete a video do a long hold....but that doesn't work, so I'm stuck with data I don't want
I'm trying to install on Samsung galaxy Note 4 and I can't get it to work. It says it's installed but it's not. Any help please. Thanks
This is really an excellent app! I was stunned at the night vision and sensitivity of the motion detector.
This app has been brilliant, last update seems to have caused a delay of 15 minutes though between motion and coming through to phone. Same with partners iPhone as well. Please fix
It's a perfect security app you can do as you please the only thing I would say is that you should add live replay so we can see what has happened while we were not on the app
A really great app for a phone you don't use anymore. My mom uses to look at her fish while at work and I do the same only with my bearded dragon (:
I love this app, let my family taking care of grandma at night and it's great for my to take a look on my pets when I'm not at home.
It's working great for what I'm using it for only issue I've had is with the the private link I lost a lot of stuff due to not being able open it back up
Works very well with a good connection. Motion detection and audio capture makes this awesome. Videos were sent to my phone when our kitty was in camera view and again when the teenagers got in from school. Awesome...
I like it was stolen from me and then they were in wifi and I caught them using the phone thanks.
Helpful and easy to use .recorded motion events are choppy cutting out few seconds in between events and its like reading a review and. ..... so that is the meaning of all th..... further more if you want a million dollars just, .....me. the answer. Get it.

I have two teenagers and have a five camera system set up around my house. I had an old Android phone and bought four more for about $80 total. I have upgraded to the hd plan and I love this system. It detects motion and alerts me. It also let's me know when my dog sitter comes and goes. A simple excellent security solution for the budget minded like me.
