Myco pro - Mushroom Guide for Android
This app has some merit and is well designed to be easy and quick to use in the field. I have been using this for awhile. My biggest gripe is that it is not a portable app. It uses a local database and a local picture folder, neither of which get backed up anywhere. This makes changing phones a bear. As this app is meant to be historic, that you will keep building data on it year after year, this is troublesome for someone that changes phones a couple times a year. The developer gives some instructions on how to transfer, but really, this is old school. There are easy ways around this by using google play services or any host of cloud based techniques. There are bugs as well but they are more annoyances than anything that will take the app down or crash your data.
really like this app, the quiz section was a good workout, the identifying questionnaire section is great, i am loving the descriptions and images, well worth the money to buy.

I want to love this app but I can't.
One thing that bugs me though, there's missing quite a few in my opinion, when I add mushrooms myself I'd like to add a description but that option is not available. I expect to have that option included in your next update
This is better than the Audobon guide app for the casual user. Although the Audobon guide has more mushrooms this app has a easier to use identification process with pictures to show what each term means. You can also add pictures and new mushrooms which let's you identify the mushroom using the Internet and add it to your guide. Get both the Audobon and this one if at all possible. Great app.
Excellent
Absolutely great!
This is the best mushroom app I've owned yet. There are plenty of species and great descriptions. The add mushroom function causes app to crash though. Also need to be able to add description to my mushrooms as well as multiple pictures. With that would gladly give 5 stars.
I apologize i did not think it would be under the name "liberty cap" great app!
If only the identification feature actually did anything. 5 stars if it did.
If you are interested in wild edibles this is a must have...
Very worth it!
Each mushroom has beautiful, high resolution images (usually 3) that can be zoomed to see the tiniest details. In addition to the descriptions, the Aspects key gives edibility, habitats, gill or pore color, cap color and shape, stalk color and shape, ring or not, regions it's found in, season, spore print color, and look-alikes. Info is credited to Wickipedia, and masterfully organized. A+++++
The only problem is peoples perceptions of what they believe the color or form to be. If you are not exactly the same as the apps description, it shows you nothing. I have been able able to identify 2 pacific northwest mushrooms with this and that's it. Kind of a waste of $
I want to love this app but I can't.
Only improvement i can think of is to have more specific locations, per country instead of continents.
I want to love this app but I can't.
Program stops working (see "crash") continuously.. also on another rather gloomy side note, it looks like 99% of material is taken directly from Wiki..
just what i wanted. been using it a while now, and found it pretty helpful and easy to use. nice being able to store your own findings and locations.
