About Wild Flower Id - British Isles

Wild Flower Id is a stunning guide to identifying wild flowers of the British Isles.

Now with Automatic Recognition to identify your Wild Flower photos.

Wild Flower Id is great fun to use. Identification can be enjoyed by the whole family and will bring you closer to the natural world around you. For the enthusiast there is anatomical, ecological and taxonomic information too.

Wild Flower Id will help you quickly and easily identify wild flowers. Use our intuitive key, or simply take a photo and use Automatic Recognition.

Automatic Recognition works a little like Shazam for wild flowers.

Wild Flower Id can be used to keep a log of your flower sightings making it easy to build a record of all the flowers you've seen. Wild Flower Id has been created by professional published ecologists, and uses a propriety image library created with the specific aim of aiding wild flower identification.

Isoperla apps appear in the World Wildlife Fund top 10 and Countryfile's top 10 apps, have been described as "incredibly useful" by ITV's Seth Conway and "lovely" by Adam Vaughan of the Guardian.

Isoperla field guides are the only products on the market that use the KUSAM species identification methodology. This state of the art method is a modern taxonomic keying system designed specifically for use on mobile devices.

The app does not need an internet connection once the app and image expansion pack are downloaded, apart from when you are using Automatic Recognition as this needs to send the image to our server for recognition.

We will be adding new species regularly, don't forget to keep your app up to date.

Good app for me to get used to the strange names some plants have.

K70%
by K####:

Like the other apps in this series, it is well designed and easy to use. Well worth the money.

This app has been a godsend. As a conservation worker, I find this app more useful in the field than the standard guide books, mainly through its use of a simplified key and little botanical terminology. It is also much more portable.

K70%
by K####:

Very complete collection of wildflowers with detailed info such as where you are likely to find a particular plant or which months it is flowering. Had great fun identifying flowers on hikes and country walks.

D70%
by D####:

Very good but would be excellent if there was a link from flowers identified in "my sightings" back to the full information provided in "flower families"

K70%
by K####:

Great app, but you can only search 1x using the parameters on the Identification function. Subsequent searches does not seem to apply filter. To search again I have to close the app and relaunch. Also an ability to zoom photos would be great as some of the photos are small (on a 5.5 screen)

An excellent production.

This is a very good app although it doesn't as yet contain all the flowers you're likely to see. I had to resize my images which I'd taken with my Canon 70D. I'd recommend anyone with files larger than 500kb do the same. All of mine are now under 400kb and apart from the odd glitch the Automatic Recognition is pretty accurate, assuming of course that the flower is in the data base.

K70%
by K####:

I like the idea of how much wild flowers there are, good to take it to woods, hate the quiz though.

S70%
by S####:

Only problem is download size over 80MB! How about asking how common it is in identification function? I often know that even if I don't know what it is.

This app is very handy for the budding botanist. I particularly like the quiz section that allows you to test your knowledge, however I think this could be improved even more by having more modes (eg. 1. Show 3 different plants and you have to choose the correct name, and 2. show one or more images of an individual plant and one must type in the name).

U70%
by U####:

Good images of the plants that are included in the app. As time goes by new images are being added - still some way to go before it is anything like complete.

K70%
by K####:

I have my phone with me all the timeso with this app i can chech out a flower with no probs.

X70%
by X####:

I love the identification system - it's helped me identify many plants. Photos are excellent quality and great to have several including close-ups of leaves, flowers etc.

K70%
by K####:

Loaded Version 12 on my Nexus 7 and works very, very well - great app for field trips.

J70%
by J####:

Like the app, good for a beginner like me. As with other reviewers, I'd suggest a more complete db of flowers. Perhaps give users a choice of Small, Medium or Full dB. One other suggestion - I took photos on a trip and mainly used the Sightings tab to identify the flowers the following day. These were recorded on the day "Added" rather than the day "Taken". They therefore appeared to be from a second trip rather than all from one trip.

L70%
by L####:

Great pictures and very helpful but needs an update to species list. Can't find marsh ragwort or barren strawberry amoung others.

V70%
by V####:

Great, but, would be nice to see other people's flower spotting as well.

E70%
by E####:

This app is really helping me to identify some of the wildflowers I didn't recognise. Clear pictures, useful info on each species, and I love the quiz.

K70%

Desperately needs more plants adding to it, but otherwise very good.

W70%
by W####:

A great app helps lots with flowers unknown to me

K70%

This has the potential to be the best plant ap on the UK market. The simple problem is too few plants for too much memory. There are simply far too few plant species for this to be really useful for anyone other than a beginner. So let's hope they quickly add to the plant database and secure a way of recording more info with less memory!
