Sky Objects for Android
It's a great app, but I have one problem with it. The moon isn't in the right place, but it isnt really a problem because you cant really miss the moon. Otherwise I love it.
Still dose nothing, can't see the point of it exactly the same as when it launched so no one is developing it.
Screen constantly jumps around & planets are not in the right place
You probably hear that a lot. This programmer took the original Sky Map with its nearly impossible to press Time Warp Buttons and increased the size of the Hot Spot. Now when time is moving a week a second, one can stop on a dime, instead of continually struggling. Sometimes I wonder if Google ever bothers to actually Try the things they publish to the World. This version is much improved, Google: Hire this Programmer (and Me as a 3D Stereoscopic Technical Designer and Engineer!)
It has a pointing error. The ecliptic is too far north. About 30 degrees as viewed in the northern hemisphere. Sidereal hour angle is too large about 90 degrees. (Stars appear too far to west ). Cardinal directions appeared accurate, i didn't have a compass to check but they're close.

Complete waste of time. Calibration is so far off it hurts! Also... doesn't anyone proof read ANYTHING before posting? Your spelling and grammar is absolutely appalling! This app costs me 5 minutes of my life that I'll never get back!
For gold with COMPASS issues, that is your phone. You need to calibrate the phone compass. "My Satsellites" is mispelled. Satellite list doesn't update
Screen constantly jumps around & planets are not in the right place
Yes it is! None of the "extra" features (ISS, satellites etc) are any where to be found. It is no different to the original Sky Map app, so what is the point of it? A WASTE OF FARQUING TIME
When I was using Google Sky Map earlier. I dont know though if this one is also a part of the G's Sky Map. I wanted to look for a few particular constellations , planets like Sagittarius, Cygnus, etc . Google Sky Map was always returning "No Results." But this one did the job perfectly for me.
Keep your tablet away from artificial magnetic influence. My Nexus 7 was in a case with magnetic catches which totally disrupted the tablet's geomagnetic sensor.
Was never good at reading star charts. Was able to enjoy astronomy tonight with my daughter. We will have more fun tracking the planets and stars now, and they will be more "real" to her!
Plz fix this bug my galaxy s2 just shows up an down view of sky. When I move it right or left it dont show up complete sky
Useless on Google Nexus 7. Does not rotate with tablet. Not locked view, calibrated correctly. Shows me pointing West which ever direction I look. Will be uninstalling straight away
Used to be a brilliant app until some smart alec got at it, now it's a waste of time, half the functions don't work and the ones that do are inaccurate. P.s. your website has joined the doesn't work section of my comment as well
Works wonderfully on my tablet, only shows Northern view on my phone. My tablet has a magnetic sensor, my phone doesn't. GPS on the phone made no difference. I'll still give it all five, because it's not the author's fault my phone is cheap. :-)
On my gs3, when I try the iridium tracking, all I get is a black screen and a rotating business icon in the top right hand corner
I don't think it's quite calibrated correctly when I compare it to my star charts, but I could be wrong.
It has the axis reversed. I am clearly facing south and looking at the moon. It is showing me the north sky. When I move it doesn't sense the rotation or moves in the opposing direction. Not very useful. This app was amazing on my other Android phones. I have a nexus 5x.
Never thought I'd rate this app badly. What is going on? Unprofessional typos, one per word, 3 new words? You do a spaceapp and can't spell "satellites"? Please don't break it. It was an awesome app. Don't mess it up. And what is this name "is it broken" That's not funny, considering where this is heading. ...
As the app description states, the app still isn't loading satellite data. The idea is great, however, and I wish the devs the best of luck getting it to work! In the meantime, try satellite ar, I tried it out and it seems to work fine.
I have a Samsung Galaxy s4 and Samsung tablet 3 and this doesn't work on either. The old version without satellites has stopped working also. Please fix then will be a deffinate 5* when it works its great
Still like the app 5 stars but now with a galaxy s5 don't have a dedicated menu button in the home keys so can't toggle night mode or search or nothin....an onscreen shortcut possible? I mean I still love the app but can't do much more than open it and look around
Has its good sides. On my HTC Desire 310 i can't free rotate but always points towards east. It has some problem with sensor also.
Using a Nexus current software update. This app is useless. Cannot search for satellites. 3d satellite or satellite AR would be a better choice.
The premise of this app is great: take the functionality of the basic SkyMap app and add satellite tracking to it (eg Iridium flares and the ISS). I was really looking forward to using it. Unfortunately, although everything from SkyMap still works, NONE of the extra stuff does. Also the various screens are riddled with spelling mistakes. The developers website no longer exists and emails to the dev go unanswered. As such this app does nothing & should really be removed from Playstore.
I am a twelve year old astronomer and I do like this app. PLEASE add a feature to zoom in on things such as galaxies and to see a clear image of them.
Google sky use to work correctly but now the screen stays in one position and will not move with device... the whole purpose of this app!!!!!

What's the difference between this app and the other one just like it? Is this just some sort of add on? Do I really need to have both? Cuz they seem identical. Please respond cuz I don't want to waste space on my phone with 2 copies of the exact same app. Please. That way you can keep all 4 of your stars I gave you!
Works perfect but kind of hard to find stuff when any movement changes the screen
Seems to be just like sky map (no +), except with satellites. And since they don't work, I don't see the point in keeping it.
The satellite feature does not work (moto x). Other than that it functions like the original Sky Maps so I'll stick with that.
Will probably use this for finding planets at dawn and dusk. You need to adjust damping and sensor speed to avoid "shake" others reported. Address call for Iridium flares appears wrong- searches endlessly but satellite list works OK. If maps show wrong direction, this is compass error in phone, not app.
Yeah not bad but not as good as the sky map free for windows phone
My phone is so off to. My neighbor held both our phones together and he's on and my phone is off. So why can't this app sync? ?? Galaxy V phone
Not even close to the actual sky. SP is about 45 degrees from the NP? Installed and re-installed several times with no success.
