Last update app crashes on init start. Restart opens and constantly reports service offline. Then after a bit it connects. Only started from last 2 updates.
App works good, But if I find out a map of my house is shared without my permission there will be a lawsuit coming - Warning given

Controls are good. We like the map, but hope the CEO does not share that data unless I can see his house too. Would be nice to have model number in the settings->about section of the app. Also, why can I not set the reduced power standby mode (vacation mode) from the app? If my thermostats allow remote access when I forget, it would be appreciated to have same access.
Roomba is amazing, this app is meh. Every few days every reference to maps will disappear. After like it's an old version, there's no mention at all or anything for maps. Then day or so later they are all back. Second issue is I have it scheduled to come in at 3am to clean but it never works. It comes on, but the map it shows is not my house at all and totally different. It also only does half the room. If I get up and turn it on manually then it works fine cleans the whole floor.
Once it got stuck and moved just a little. The battery was close to ding. There was no way for me to tell it to go home. Then the battery jyst died and stuck in the middle of the floor. No way for me to control it myself. I have also been having connecting issues where I have to close the app and restart it multiple times to actually connect.
The app usually gets stuck in "Connecting" and get a pop-up saying their servers are unavailable. This means I can't look at history of use or adjust the schedule which are the main benefits of having the vacuum connected to the internet. I still get push notifications when the vacuum finished a job so I know the connection works. Please make the app usable!
Should be better, the app works but has few options, could be possible to "drive" the Roomba via app do clean specific spot ( the spot clean button only do a circle path, if the dust is next to a wall or is not in the 1 meter diameter doesn't clean well), the app should show the battery percentage (not only a icon). At the history menu should show the charge time (how much time is taken do fill up the battery), at the "Care" menu has some items that doesn't have action. Should be possible to see the image of iadapt cam....
Honestly i dont know how to make it work. Just bought a new Roomba 890. Tried connecting the device to my wifo netwrok and then to my phone as per the instructions. The wifi signals are white which means they are connected to my devixe and the device says to finiah setup via the app.. now the App just keeps taking time and then says failed to setup the iRobot. Trying to connecr ober n over has already exhausted me.. meh
New 960. Had to reboot irobot to get clean maps to work. Seems to do well in the carpet but definitely not as good as 650 on hard wood. If trouble initializing check network switching settings in phone and make sure they are off.
The app has gotten better recently and I hope they keep improving it but I still have connection issues. I have to kill the app and reopen it to get it to connect sometimes, and I'm on the same Wi-Fi network as it.
I really liked this app until today. It just stopped working. I have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it and all I get is the green logo screen. I don't know what to do?????????? I LOVE my robot - it is amazing but cannot use the app to start cleaning from anywhere or to set up scheduled cleaning.
Bin full signal doesn't go off after bin is emptied and status reset in app. Very frustrating.
I couldn't understand one bit of it. I'm just trying to figure out how to set the clock to schedule what time to clean everyday and I can't find the clock on the 980.
What happened to the map feature? I bought the 960 and am able to do everything but don't see the Clean Maps Report under the settings on the android app. EDIT: changing to 5 stars. My Roomba got a firmware update over night that then allowed the map feature to work. So, to others who have a similar experience, connect your Roomba to your wireless network and at some point a firmware push should occur and then the map feature becomes available in the app.
Doesn't tell how to delete old maps. It doesn't recognize it's name, so it won't tell me where it's at on the name. Cleaning is super but kind of like have a pet, always wondering why it's chasing it's tail.
Good, Could be better with Bi Weekly scheduling. Need a way to ignore sensors for dark carpet edges, while using barriers to prevent falls at stair tops.
Return to base stopped working. The machine just keeps resuming. Dont know if its the app that's buggy or the product. If not for my mom, I would not buy this. I still use my 8 yr old dirt devil.
This worked fine on my last phone, but on my pixel the app gives the spinning tail of doom after touching Create Account or Login. Totally unusable
Hoping for a live mapping to be added in the app. Wish you can set certain cleaning patterns for certain days on the scheduling and when the roomba is charging in the middle of a job, you can NOT do anything in the app without resuming or ending the job. Please fix and am looking forward to more addons. I have the 98p by the way. Works great just the app needs improvements
No widget for easy clean start. Unable to use Google assistant since some moron decided non-US citizens don't deserve that. Wasted an hour trying to set it up.
App use to work with my bot. Now I had to create a new account for no reason and now my bot won't connect. Good job.
It makes what it is needed. You can start/stop the robot remotely, schedule tasks, and see last jobs and see maps.

Great. Have 2 Room as on it, map works too. Also have them on my Alexa. Life is just to easy

Just says, "Job cancelled for everything." Lol No job complete or returned to base. Nothing.

980 connected just fine to my Wi-Fi and I've used it to clean 40,000 sqft already. New update won't let me see what's going on without being at home on my network. Loved being able to control it from work and have it done when I got home. Also can't seem to get the little wall pillars to work. It just knocks them down instead of staying away.
Oh God. I wish I took the time to read the comments before I spent over an hour figuring out the WiFi connection issues, which I beleieve I fixed by accident. It was only through my stubbornness that the issue was resolved. I almost returned the damn thing. But after the connection was established everything works well. I give the second star for myself.
I read all the BAD comments about this App, and WAS in TOTAL Agreement at FIRST !Then, as this my very FIRST time to use the ROOMBA 980,and the App would not download properly, Yup.. I was in Total Agreement! !!..then I called Support to ASK for Help in which I received VERY GOOD and Excellent Support! after which the Phone App works VERY WELL now, the Roomba works Very Well, and I am Completely Satisfied in having the Phone sync'd with the Roomba ! All it took was some Patience, Support help ! I have an Older 611 model that needs a new Battery, and it has its own Controller -Remote. I just wish that this new model had its OWN REMOTE , as I do NOT like that this App takes up so much data storage in my PHONE !!! Other than that, I rate this 4 stars because the SUPPORT that I received and now the App WORKS... just fine ! Also, this costs more than what it's worth! but I got Old and... Lazier !
My Rhomba will not work from my phone since last update. Please correct this. It tells me I am not connected to wifi, but my wifi is working same as always. Now I have lost my cleaning schedule. I have rebooted and started the program over, still not working. I have to manually start it.
Unable to see any clean maps. Everything else appears to work. I have android version 6 and galaxy tab s and do not have any option to see the clean map for my roomba 960.
Bug ridden app just got worse with last update and to add to the insult you now need access to more personal data. Seriously for the money we pay for the vacuum the app should work better
The roomba980 is amazing, but this app is just painful to use - both the iPhone and Android variants. The initial setup is painful - it complains about being unable to connect to some server, even though wifi is working properly. Clearing data/cache seems to help this. Next, it's to unable to program the Roomba wifi, mostly due to the phone automatically switching to mobile data when it connects to the Roomba local network. The setup process should automatically disable mobile data or prompt less techie users to do so during the initial join process. There are other usability issues -- app often freezes on Irobot splash screen. When connecting the Roomba on a 2nd device, it often fails to detect the Roomba (even though the Roomba is already connected to home WiFi). The one time that the app was able to detect it - trying to "Add" it asks you to press the home+spot buttons (like initial wifi setup). Why? All around, this app is way too buggy and needs a lot more UX improvements

App has poor problem handling. If the sync with the robot doesn't work out, the app needs to be force stopped. Also, it seems like it has problems communicating with older robot software, which makes connecting a new robot difficult the first time, since it probably runs an old version that was factory installed. Other than that, the app does what's expected from it fairly well.
