Irlen® Colored Overlays for Android
As an Irlen sufferer I am so happy that this app had been developed. I use it on my Wileyfox phone but when I went to install it on my Asus tablet I got a warning starring the app contains Malware that could put my security at risk? Please advise.
When it is working, definitely worth it! It keeps turning off though and I have to continually open the app again to turn it back on which is annoying.
For those of us that prefer darker colors (my Irlen filters are purple grey purple, real dark) this doesn't do the trick. As you increase the intensity of the overlay your text fades out. I can't get it dark enough to help. I will wait and try it again later.
The app worked for about two weeks then it crashed and I have since then not been able to reopen the app at all to use it. A bit of a bummer after having to pay for it. Like many customers have said before, the fact that the colour overlay changes the colour of everything on the screen it also changes the colour of aby black text which makes it hard to see if you need a darker overlay. This flaw really defeats the purpose of this app. It's a great idea, it's just a shame they haven't done it right.
This app was wonderful for the two weeks that it worked. But it has crashed and now I can't get it to work without paying for it again which I am not willing to do unless I know it will work.
If you get headaches and/or your eye's hurt from looking at your phone/tablet. Get this app and find the color that helps you. It made a world of difference for me.
In this day an age of excessive lighting this helps so much. I do get the point Erland is making though.
Avast is detecting a Trojan after the installation. Please clarify!
Colored filters minimize light frequencies that are undesirable enabling me to use laptop and mobile device.
Good app, but needs a widget button so you can activate it from the home screen, rather than have to load the app
Amazing app. Simple to use and it definitely helps with my irlens!
I've used irlens overlays and glasses for most of my life. The colours in the app aren't as strong as the real page overlays making this app a waste of money.
Used this before and couldn't get it right so never put it on new phone. Now have different color filters on my lenses so thought to try again... But antivirus on my phone (Avast) tells me there is Malware in the code?! Don't know how else to contact Irlen, so hope they read this to fix it. I want to try again, but won't argue with anti-virus software telling me not to install this app...
Dims the font. Can't use my color because I can't see through the overlay.
I am hoping to find out if a particular color will make my life easier (in a fluorescent office all day). My only complaint is, the overlay is applied to everything, including the color black as well. This makes everything lose contrast. Trying to read on Amazon kindle app, with a strong color makes it very hazy because it lightens the black as well. Kills the contrast. Still very much worth the money.
A real overlay lets black come through undisturbed. This app clouds the screen, making black into gray and the added color feels disturbing, like a shining mist hovering in front of your eyes.
It relieves my eyes somewhat but it crashes CONSTANTLY and I have to keep turning it back on. Not a wide range of colours. You can't make the screen darker than the phone's settings which is one of the main things I need which a similar app which is free is able to do. I wouldn't be keen on paying for this app when I can get much more from a free app.
I think this app is very poor because I had been using it for only two days then it stopped working. I have sent feedback to the developers on three occasions and have received no response or resolution. I feel this unacceptable and very unsatisfactory particularly because you have to pay £1.99 for installation. I want a refund of my money. I advise others who have an Android phone to avoid this app and continue searching for a more helpful app to manage the challenges of visual stress.
App is great for people who only need a light shade. The more I turn the intensity up on the purple the more it fades the text. I still struggle to read.
This app helps so much. Makes my phone much easier to look at. Sometimes the app will turn off when it's not supposed to but I'm okay with that.
This is a great app. Stable, well done, and flexible. My only desire is that it be easier to turn on and off. There is an app called Bluelight Filter (apologies for mentioning another app) that allows the user to control it from the pull down menu. I like the setup of this app more, but the pull down option would make it perfect. Definitely deserves 5 stars otherwise.
I can customize colors, and find the exact shade that minimizes my double vision. So happy to have found an app that overlays every screen on my device.
Error message and wouldn't download. Huge shame as really needed this for my phone
Great app...... makes my phone and tablet so much more easy to use and read.... any chance you could make a version for a windows surface?? or computers?
Thank you Irlen Ambassadors.

Discovering I had Irlen was such a life changing experience. Having an app for that is pretty awesome!
Such a simple app to use, and such a big difference. The screen is so much more comfortable to look at now.
Can't say enough how great this is.
I never knew what I was missing I knew that my phone was too bright and I had a hard time typing bow with this app I can see the right way

This is exactly what I have been looking for. I have Claro on my lap and desk top but hadn't found anything for my phone. I have Irlen associated with dyslexia. I notice another review complain that it overlays black and reduces contrast - but that is exactly what it needs to do. It is the contrast between black and white that causes blurring on letter shapes and eye fatigue. Thanks for making this app. Very reasonable price too.
