Mi-Light 3.0 for Android
Important: make sure you have a good quality plug/phone charger that you use with it. After initially having syncing issues between phone and ibox, I changed the plug I was using and it synced first time. Another issue I came across was I have EasyBulb bulbs (from a previous older WiFi bridge set up), which I couldn't link, however, what you have to do, is tap the too opposite arrows in the top right and select the correct remote for your bulbs, I didn't get a physical remote when I brought the bulbs as I always planned to use the app, so it didn't click in my head that I had to select the remote first. But once I did, linking the bulbs was an easy seamless experience, had all 4 bulbs in 3 rooms linked within a minute or two. Saying that, that's perhaps something that needs adding to the app, either some text with the remote images, e.g. EasyBulb RGBW, EasyBulb White, Milight RGB, LimitlessLED RGBW, etc. Or some notes in the help/setup section to instruction or suggest trying different remotes until you find one that's compatible. The app works well though in the short I have had everything setup, much better than any previous app I've used. After using the app for a few weeks, I'd like the app to remember brightness levels for each group/zone.
Timer section doesn't work at all. The modes are misleading. The colours and white balance are good. Also blocked the app from the permissions it was asking for as it doesn't need them!
The product itself is brilliant, but the app to accompany it is absolute trash. Given the open source nature of the product, ill likely have to write my own or find a third party one.
App connected to bridge via WiFi straight away, tried to link it to the lights selecting the same remote that works with all six lights together but app will only connect with one bulb sometimes two but not all six.
Can't get it to link or connect to my WiFi.
No backwards compatibility with their nearly identical version 2 hubs. I was told that one version 3 hub could control all the lights and version 2 could only control 4 zones. Both version 2 and 3 control all lights in only 4 zones. If you need more, android users must now pay twice as much to get the version 3 hub. Seems like a marketing decision to force android users to pay more to replace perfectly good hardware. Stick with ios and version 2 hubs. Half the price for the same thing.
It's ok. It works. But the schedule doesn't work at all. Needs improvement in the interface, support for tablets, and add a widget would be nice.
Can't get it to work with Samsung s7 edge
Once set up it works well for me. Much better than the previous official all and the preset color feature is great. However every time I close the app I get a message twice that the app crashed. After pressing 'OK' the dialog is gone, on app restart it works fine again. A list of favourite remotes would be nice, since I have different bulbs and I always forget which remotes they work with.
Crashes after you quit the app. You can control the lights OK, but would need a lot more features to benefit from Android. A quick setting tile to turn lights on and off quickly, Android Wear version, Widgets and also turn on lights slowly in the morning. Also a redesign of the app to Material guidelines would be good. Don't understand why does it have a iPhone app design.
Cannot find and connect the WiFi box at all. Tried 4 different phones. The controller just keeps blinking its lights. The smart link is just stupid. There are thousands of more robust ways to setup the controller. Look what you have done.
Can't do the setup menu when you hit the +. Had to use my iPhone to set up the unit. Using OnePlus 3T A7.1.1. After it was setup the app worked fine. Lucky I had another phone to set it up!
Worked fine on my Galaxy S5 apart from the crash everyone is experiencing, but can't get it to pair at all on my new Galaxy S8+, please fix.
It doesn't work at all. I have Android 7.1, and when I press "+" button to ad device, I simply doesn't work. It doesn't do anything.
Works well once the you get the bulbs synced. On a v6 bridge the zones can be triggered with habridge
Always crashes. To many bugs
Cannot link to bulb. Just wifibox
Ther is no music mod. Hard to setup.
Worst app ever...
Doesn't work
After hours of frustration I give up. At one point it connected to the bridge but immediately disappeared. Never got it to connect again to 2 different bridges. Instructions are almost nonexistent. You can find several versions from different people who say they succeeded in setting up. I have better things to do with my time then waste another minute on this junk.
Works great out of the box but I miss an music visualiser that could play with the lights and voice control. Also the timer is unreliable and to basic. It would be better if it would allow to set alarms like stock android and for wake up a gradual increaci in brightness kinda like the free led controler app has.
The app crashes every time I open it. But when it's opened it does work eventually. An redesign would be nice and offcourse an all that won't crash.
It works, but constantly crashes when you don't use it for a few minutes. It's VERY annoying, if they fix this bug then i'd be giving the app 5/5 stars, but its not worth anything like that now
Does its job. I wish I could save load share presents for all the devices. Setting artful colors one by one for dozens of lights is not easy. Preset per lamp is not suffient at that point. And I cant share my settings with my wife
But fiddly to set up, as not the same as the instructions, but works a treat when connected to home network!
I don't trust apps what want to know location and more for no reason.
Unstable. Crashes few times a day
App sends info to server in China. WE WANT PRIVACY. also the app force closes when you remove it from 'recent apps'.
When I try to click the + icon nothing happens. Tried to Uninstall and install again, didn't help. Huawei P9 Plus running Android 7.0
You gave NO reason to check my location throughout the day!
Unstable, crashes constantly
Only wifi.
App works brilliantly with my girlfriends htc one m8...and also the remote works well. I have 9 colour GU10 lights controlled with the mi-light wi-fi iBox. For some reason I can't controlled these lights when I disconnect from my home wi-fi and try to use 4g with my Samsung Galaxy edge S6. Can't understand why?. The old HTC can!! Very annoying! I would appreciate an answer from support with this. Just read that a few other people are having the same problem with app stating "no wi-fi or Internet access".
Works OK, would prefer to have an easier one click way to turn on or off all the lights instead of two clicks. Also, constantly crashes when in the background.
Please can you provide instructions. I have connected the app to the wifi hub and I can control the hub (change the light colour, turn it on and off etc) but there are no instructions on how to connect the controllers to the hub/app. Only one star for now until instructions are provided. Thanks
This would of gotten a 5* easily. I bought a easybulb flat from easybulb but came in a Mi-Light packaging which came with new wifi box, also bought a Mi-Light bulbs round from amazon and after setting it up which took a while I noticed that the in app remote won't control both bulbs you have to be switching remotes to turn each one on/off and to change colours, you can't sync them all under one remote or by even adding the different remotes under 1 zone. So I'm retuning it & get a Lifx Bulb
World's perfectly in the house on the same wifi network but fails to link up when I'm away on my data network making the timer function useless
Timer function for WiFi box doesn't work.

Useless. Terrible design, misleading instructions and misleading zones. Don't waste your time with MiLight. V3.0 is marginally better but still no design or UI skills applied. MiLight kit has virtually no instructions or guides out there.
